Yeah right! I was trying to do this the other day, but I got confused about how I was supposed to know in which moment I was going to live. They all speed by so fast. I could not pick out the one in which I was surely ‘meant’ to live. So I tried to envision my moment as a big red London bus which would soon appear around a metaphysical corner with its number and destination board clearly marking it as my bus, my moment, into whose creative interior I could throw my whole existence and for who really knows how long actually LIVE! But fate decided that all the buses are the same, and I hang around the bus stop with my head snapping from one horizon to the other as one conductor after another raises a quizzical eyebrow as he flies by. I want to get on, I want to get on, and obey that wise imperative…

a. …I jumped on the very next bus and found it was already full of passengers wondering how in hell they could get off without paying the fare.
b. …I jumped on the very next bus and at that moment its number and destination board came in to sharp and comforting focus.
Less a poem than a fragment asking to be turned into a poem. Written some years ago, it has failed so far to become one.

Wishing on stars
Won't get you too far.
It won't matter how far it is
Or how bright it shines.
You can't sit at the window for hours
And cross your fingers until they're blue.
Put your heart and soul
Into "I wish I wish I wish..."
Why?
Because you can't just sit back
&
Hope something happens.
You have to get up and do something-
Anything
If you really want it.

You will not change the flow of the mainstream

By building an unconnected lake

You can build the deepest pool in existence

But if the fish don't have a way in

Have fun peeing in your own bath.

When given the chance to choose between someone's action or their word; choose the one impacts you the most.
Actions speak louder than words.

It begins
As a thirst, for a path into your soul
Into a darker deeper recess, a desire
To slide over your skin,
Then go under,
Deep under your outer skin.
We shed, and come night,
Darkness, a new light reveals.
Light burning, emerging from a
Raging fire,
Touches - Sparks leaping, like raindrops
Onto and in your and my eyes,
In that passion’s fire we smelt,
Towards, and until suddenly, like
A dive into each other’s infinity and out
As an exploding supernova.

In a short 24 hours
We transition from
Condemning the lack of
gun control
Shouting cries of
Murderous misogyny
Lamenting over lost souls
Innocent
and Never Forgotten
Players in our Facebook Novels.

In one day
We switch to watching
Glitzy action films
Of men in tight suits
Saving individuals
Innocents
Quickly forgotten.
Because we are reassured that
At least one is safe.

But not until after
We see 20 minutes
At least
Of destruction
Chaos
Explosions
of Innocents
Screaming and running
in Terror
Fearing for their lives
From a madman on his
Massacre
Innocents
immediately forgotten.

And we are uneffected.
We do not mourn over these
Innocents.
Despite seeing them die
We are unaffected and Entertained
Before our very eyes
We saw them.
And we forgot them.

They are not mentioned
They are not remembered
And they are not Lamented
In our Facebook Novels.
Despite the fact that
We Know
These tragedies actually happen.
My heart aches and cries for what has happened in California, and the innocent lives affected. I pray so fervently for the peace and comfort of all families and friends affected. I now know I can't even stomach seeing an action movie. Probably not ever again.

Don't  tell me you care because you don't.

When was the last time you cared about another more than yourself?

Don't tell me you care because you don't.

When was the last time you went out of your way to help a stranger in need?

Don't tell me you care because you don't.

When was the last time you gave random acts of kindness to the people around you?

Don't tell me you care because you don't

When was the last time you gave your friend or family a hug, and told them you love them?

When was the last time you gave generously to someone even though they didn't desrve it?

Don't tell me you care because you don't.

Don't tell me you care just show it.

Words are just words until they are done.
Words and actions always work together. Never only one working by itself.

I ask you, why can't life be like a movie
Why can't we
Love like a romance
laugh like a comedy
and fight like an action
Live like a leading star
die like a supporting role
Sing like a musical
Travel like an adventure
be remembered like a documentary

So I ask why can't life be like a movie
Some of you may notice this sounds familiar, that is because I created a poem similar to this called Life like a movie, but while I was reading it back I wanted to make a few changes so the previous version as been deleted for this remake.

Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed it, if you have any questions please ask them and I will try to answer them a.s.a.p.

The doer without desire,
Who does not boast of his deed,
Who is ardent, enduring,
Untouched by triumph,
In failure untroubled:
He is a man of sattwa (the energy of inspiration)

The doer with desire,
Hot for the prize of vain glory,
Brutal, greedy and foul
In triumph too quick to rejoyce,
In failure despairing:
He is a man of fajas (the energy of action)

The indifferent doer
Whose heart is not in his deed,
Stupid and stubborn,
A cheat, and malicious,
The idle lover of delay,
Easily dejected:
He is a man of tamas (the energy of inertia).
