You wanted a love like in the movies;
rain drenched white shirts, palms covered
in daisy pollen; I love you more than--
a phone call, long distance, your fingers
curling the telephone wire like you're pulling me
towards you
like a fibre optic pheromone.
Soundtracks of a jazz piano, and old jukebox hits,
flared skirts and Mary Jane shoes, square dancing.

But most of the time, we don't get to choose
the colour of the bedsheets. In this story,
I know you're going to leave me. I can sense
the zoom of your eyes, rolling away from me.
The lighting in the room, like the ones where something
awful is about to happen: a sad, sick orange
like a cheap sunset; the music, or lack thereof,
the way you bite your lip like you're about to
break my heart.

You look to the ground, and I know this is where
the narration will start;

this is the story of the first time
someone broke my heart.
She's going to look up at me
and say the words,
It's all over-

and in a jump frame
the thunderclap will mask the sound
of my heart shattering, the sob disappearing
into my throat.

You wanted a love like in the movies,
honey,
we all did.

But then the rain came, and the flowers
drowned in their beds.
You left your umbrella by the doorstep,
I hope you don't catch a cold.
I'm not sure why.

I should have listened
I should have done better
I should ... fight for you
But I can't
I want you to be happy
But not when I'm a weight on your shoulders
Stay with me

And if you are to love,
Love as the moon loves.
It doesn't steal the night,
It only unveils the beauty of the dark.

And if you are to love,
Love as the rain loves.
It doesn't wet the bodies,
It only washes the sad dirt of the souls.

And if you are to love,
Love as the wind loves.
It doesn't drift away,
It only cleanse you to the core by invading through each pore.

And if you are to love,
Love as the sun loves.
It doesn't radiates heat,
It only pours its warmth on you to enlighten your way.

And if you are to love,
Love as the star loves.
It doesn't delightfully twinkles,
It only reminds you that not even death can separate two hearts.

And so forth,
if you are to love
Love as the whole universe
& not just a part of it.
Four years down, we still chat up
He still calls me and I still pick up
We tell each other every small this and every tiny that-
He tells his feats and I tell my wars.

I know his flaws all too well
But I know his good all the more better
I know I would fight off the devil for him
About him though, I could never tell.

I think somewhere deep within, I know
This friendship is deep but not for long.
For the day, She gives the stare
He would leave ; with neither a tear nor a care.

So I cherish each second, each day
For it brings us a page nearer to the end.
For the day is not far, when the story ends
And we go back to being strangers-by-years.

I will forever remember
Those beautiful deep brown eyes
That you thought were so plain.
But darling, you could not see:
how could you possibly see?
The way they shined in the sun
breathtaking hues of mahogany
Melting into golden rays
Circling an eclipse
your “plain brown eyes”
truly aren’t plain at all
they are a stunning mixture
of every color known to man
The most beautiful sunset on earth.
Your eyes are the most vivid memory I have of you, even after all of these months. You always used to call your eyes "boring and plain" and even called them "**** brown." But to me, your eyes were the most beautiful color I've ever seen. You know when you mix a bunch of colors together and it all turns brown? Thats how I viewed your eyes... The deep brown was just a mixture of everything you could offer the world.

If she doesn’t love you now,
don’t fool yourself into thinking she ever will,
love is infinite and definite,
love is not a gradual build,

do not fool yourself,
even though only Fools fall in love,
if she doesn’t love you now,
accept that she never will,

this is my warning to you,
and forewarning is fair warning,
don’t think if you’re good to her tonight,
that she’ll like you any more in the morning,

love is not equal,
love is not fair,
love is always here,
but love is never there,

so remember this,
next time you think you’re in love,
and make sure that love is mutual,
before you make that jump,

because if not,
you’ll fall all alone,
and it’ll be you instead of me,
sitting here writing this poem…

hell is a place where
you constantly love those that
do not love you back.

The universe puts her headphones on
And plays her favorite track
The raindrops in the meadow burst
And soak the earth
And with her feet up on the world
She smiles from ear to ear
And plays it back
What songs does the universe listen to? Is there a more beautiful sound than the rain falling in the secluded meadow. Truthfully, I don't know. But I do love the sound of these words as they roll off the tongue. YUPP!

BIG THANKS to everyone who liked, commented, and helped make this verse the Poem of the day (on 05/18/18). I really appreciate it! You can listen to me read this poem live on SoundCloud. Just follow the link and have an awesome day!

Cry
I cry.
yes I do..
I am not  a god
an immortal to all these hurts,
I get lost in the mist
of my own crowded eyes,
searching for reasons to all the emotions
every droplet a sign of my powerful heart,
that is able to love  so much
and hurt so bad at the same time,
an angelic  paradox of it's own
a testimony of his powerful love .

It's 1:43 a.m. as I sit here and wonder
If you're awake, asleep
Or in between where we dream
It's times like this when I think of you
Question if you think of me, too

Has your heart been broken?
Are your dreams coming true?
Is life everything you wished for?
If not, do you continue following through?

I know, it's crazy
I wouldn't recognize your face
And yet, I feel we're connected
Just need the right time and place

We're guided by Above
You face your trials, while I face mine
I pray you're somewhere out there
And when we're ready
We'll find each other
In due time
