Tea
Give me your hand
my forbidden one
Let me lead you to the darkest corner
where our truth can come to light
Because that's the only place
we can exist -
in between the spaces of words
always left unsaid
Where you're not afraid
to show me your soul
And I'm not afraid
to let you take a step closer
But the flame can't burn for long
Because we both know
when morning comes
we'll play pretend
The whispers of the dark
will lay forgotten
Because in our world
of unfinished sentences,
where more often than not
there is a coma where a full stop should be;
"U" and "I" will never be
side by side.

The photos are frozen time.
Not just mine.
But yours.
Theirs.
All.

Once upon a time photos reflected exactly what they are.
Memories.

They were dull.
Colourless.
Unfocused.

But today they shine so bright.
Images reminding us each time we see them, how real things were.

How real we loved.
How real we cared.
How much we cried.
How much we laughed.
How much we miss.

They remind us vividly with their glow;
It all fades.

The laughter fades into the distance.
The tears fade into the atmosphere.
The caring fades to disregard.
This missing fades to hate.

And the love. Well it simply fades.

The simple way it always has.
The way you always remember.

The way in which your parents stop turning off your bedroom light.
The way in which a friend forgets to call.

The way in which your touch will fade.
The way in which I'll forget how soft your skin is.
The way in which you'll replace my warmth.

These four walls will become lonely again.
And I'll remember the one thing that never fades.

To be alone.
Just as the photographs I take.
I'm not good at these feelings.

”You need to learn how to love yourself
You keep stomping on yourself like you were a bug that freaked you out
You point your fingers at yourself
Seriously why would you do that to yourself, do you know how stupid it is?
Why do something others easily can do to you, why would you waste your time on that
You're never going to become of anything if you never let yourself grow
If you keep saying that you can't, you're again wrong
Because even flower seeds are strong enough to break the paved roads and bloom
Do you think they give up because it is difficult?
Yes, it is unfair that you happened to be planted under a thick pavement like those flowers were
but if you don't keep on trying you will never bloom”

he is my demented extension
twin menace from another dimension
an entity of an inner dissension
committing sins too grim to mention

residing deep inside
a dividing of my mind
i can't find nowhere to hide
i'm fighting the undefined

he is my conflicted cognition
me and him are a different depiction
i don't fit this inflicted condition
his misery is my living constriction

residing deep inside
a dividing of my mind
i can't find nowhere to hide
i'm fighting the undefined

In high-school chemistry classrooms across the
country, you are forced to memorize all of the different
lab equipment.
They never tell you to memorize the constellation
of freckles spattered across the bridge of your
lab partner's nose, but you do it
anyways.

You learn about Marie Curie and radioactive decay, but you
find you are more interested in the way his smile starts small
and grows to light a fire in your cheeks.
You blame it on the Bunsen burner.

You study polyatomic ions and how they act as a single unit, and it
reminds you of how he winks at you right before quizzes
and you find you can't focus on anything at all.
You blame it on the lack of breakfast.

You test over periodic trends and ionization energy, but all
you can think of at night is the way he taps his fingers
and maybe it's why you can't sleep at night.
You blame it on a restless mind.

In high-school chemistry classrooms across the
country, you are forced to be careful when handling
Erlenmeyer flasks.
They never tell other students to be careful when handling
your heart.
They never tell you how much easier it is to clean up the mess
from a shattered beaker than it is to clean up the mess
from your shattered heart.

If I told you you're too chunky,
That you need to lose some weight,
Would you take my word as gospel?
Mold yourself to fit my taste?

If I told you,  wear more makeup
Your skin is way too flat,
Would you hide your true reflection?
Behind a powder ridden mask?

If i said your "tastes" are tasteless,
Would you offer up that too?
Would you hide your true desires,
And all that makes " you"  you?

If I said to join the masses,
To act and look the same,
Would you try the hottest mind *****?
Would you treat life as a game?

If I told you,  be more willing,
Would you lay upon your back?
For if you wish to catch a tiger
You must offer up a snack

Would you follow the suggestions
Of a stranger you can't see?
Is that not what we're all doing,
To fit in with society

I was always warned
About the monsters below the bed
But no one ever told me
About the demons in my head

I used to always run
From the creatures in the night
But the true evils I can't run from
For it's my mind I have to fight

I thought the monsters were real
And they scared me, so I'd hide
But now I know, the evils I can't see
Are a much much bigger deal
Thought I'd try some rhyming...
It still needs some work though, so I'll probably edit it later
Suggestions are appreciated :)

you never think things will sneak up on you like this, that your problems will become a monster and eat you.
i blame "fine"
we parrot that, even as kids - we are taught to be "fine" - not taught to be aware that something might be wrong; that might mean something happened - no, we bathe in and wrap ourselves in "im fine"
but the truth is, were not.
**we are not fine
