What Would Happen If...
What happens when we waken to a world of wealth
We only desire to be that much more wealthy

What happens when we waken to a world of crime
We only expect the worst around the next corner

What happens when we waken to a world of pain
We hurt inside and out and the pain is unbearable

but...

What would happen if we waken to a world of peace
We would be shocked, and wonder how long it will last
I wrote this over a year ago. :)

Forgotten
oft we tend to go on in life
as we forget the little things
or block out the sad things
that have happened in our lives

but I say, Nay, do not forget
that some things are worth
remembering and bringing back
so we can pursue differently

we have come a long way in life
but we need not to forget
what or who it was
that has brought us this far

my Dad was an inspiration
saying ''you can do it"
and should I just go on
without even a thank you

some things in life are forgotten
so we can pursue in life
but whatever happens henceforth
never forget
those that loved you most
Thinking of my Dad and the things that
he had done and had been through in life. But in
all that he did, he still managed to love me, care
for me, and has been my inspiration.

The Sun
aye
but the warmth I feel
beneath its heart
warms inside of me
as I write
as I breathe
as I indulge
in the beauty
of poetry

yes
the heart of the sun
is so gentle
as it caresses
enlightens me
delights me
thrills me
as the words
come flowing
into my head

aye
I lie here thinking
of birds singing
dogs barking
children laughing
I can't get enough
as I indulge
as I breathe
as I write
about
the sun

S.O.S (Some One Special)
when I weep you are my shoulder to lean on
when I ache you take the pains away
when I'm lonely you keep me company
when I'm cold you keep me warm
when I'm sad, you lift my spirits
when I frown, you make me smile

I'm thankful for a sister like you
you do things so many others cannot do
but most of all
when I feel all else fails
you are there
to say
''I  love you''

YOU
YOU
The sun rises and sets
upon your sweet face
a bit of nature
in all its grace

The sun flames in beauty
upon objects below
a bit of kindness
doth it overflow

The sun shines brightly
upon a quiet land
a bit of humility
as I hold your hand

The sun rises and sets
upon your sweet face
a bit of nature
can ne'er replace

The beauty I see
upon your sweet brow
may it shine forever
beginning now

Smashed Dreams
high hopes
looking out
into the beyond
the future
tomorrow

big dreams
wondering
about life
what it could be
what it is
here and now

love bursts
faces smile
explosions
of yet to come
exploring
excited

then comes
the stranger
closer now
hits you hard
knocks you down
life changes

smashed dreams
broken hearts
sweet dreams
forbidden
tomorrow...
forgotten

So in Love With Facebook
Family, Friends and Fun
Always something to do or someone to talk to
Caring and the fun in sharing
Everyone can find something to do
Bring your best when you enter
Of course, invite others to join the fun
Overlook me when I'm being goofy
Kindness and hugzzz for everyone!
this came to me in the heat of the moment...
thinking of my friends and family
where I spend so much time!

Alone
Out in the middle of nowhere
left for ruin
for pain
for nought

Now to face the consequences
all alone
afraid
bereft

Forced to face bad decisions
loss of hope
loss of faith
forlorn

Not By Choice
I don't know why
it just happens
then I find myself
hiding
wanting to hide my face
turn away
pretend it isn't real

I just let it be
knowing inside
or somewhere
it isn't right
it was never right
yet the pain is there

I don't know why
so many suffer
without speaking
but go on hiding
their shame, their scars
their pain

I know it well
as I've been there
scarred
inside and out
never again
to be whole

Yes
the pain is real
it happens every day
but to let it
is not by choice
The pains of physical or mental abuse
is sad. The person that does it
has no heart, or does he? (she)
It's real. It's out there. I was there once.
It isn't the victim's choice. Nor
was it mine.

T'was Worth Every Mile
Sometimes our minds wander
into another world
lighter or darker
and we tend to roam
farther away from our destination

The problem is it happens
too often for awhile
and our hearts
are led into other worlds
all too different
farther away from whence we came

Thus, we forget
our destination
was a little closer
than we thought
by the time
we finally remembered

The good thing is
we got back on track
and began to follow
the right path
and entered new places
with unending smiles
I stray away from writing
from time to time. I come to a halt and then
I pick back up again. T'is something I do quite often.
Still, it's always nice coming back home!

The Typical Teenager
teen comes home
tosses books on the couch
coat on the floor
ne'er a hi in return
just keeps walking on by
and when I speak
he growls
and turns on the stereo
and with my words
volume is raised

then thru my teeth
I grit my anger
bite my tongue
as my patience is tried
all the while
my thoughts turning
I'm going to kick
his little red buns
someone protests
you mean white
no.....
by the time I am done
they would definitely be red
This isn't meant as in all teenagers. I know that I've come across several
that have been very well mannered, and show so much love and light.
In fact, I was thinking of my son when
i wrote this.
I'm proud to say he has grown into a very respective young man. :)
Yes, Son, I visualized you, but no, I know you never did this

Teddy Bear
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear
why do you cry
I've lost my stuffing
and button for my eye

Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear
where have you been
I've roamed and traveled
just to see my friend

Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear
who d o you love
I adore my friends
and angels above

Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear
what have you done
I've love and was hugged
and I'm still not done

that are in it as well.

From Deep Within
From deep within I breathe a wisp
of air that holds dear to me
t'is but a wisp of love pure divine
and I do it instinctively

From deep within I hear a voice
of that which grasps my heart
t'is now but a faded memory
yet it shall never impart

From deep within I hold my breath
just to wait for the call of love
t'is but a far away voice I hear
and it is sent from up above

From all that has been within
bursts a long lasting flame
and from this day forward I see
nevermore shall I be the same

Storms of Yesteryear
The years go rolling by
leaving behind  only memories
precious ones
dark ones
unforgettable ones

The years go so quickly
children stomping in mud puddles
teenagers talking on the telephone
music changes
and we keep on going strong

The years have surpassed us
with shattered dreams
broken promises
painful nights
tears that fell like rain

But again in a new light
the years have given us
new hope
new love
new dreams
and a reason for living

The past lies in the past
the storms are long gone
think of tomorrow
and remember
today is a gift

what happened to the friendship

Sonnet XLIII: How Do I Love Thee?
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of being and ideal grace.
I love thee to the level of every day's
Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.
I love thee freely, as men strive for right.
I love thee purely, as they turn from praise.
I love thee with the passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints.  I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life;  and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.
written by Elizabeth Barrett Browning

I just wanted to share one of my favorites!
I take no credit in this, as Elizabeth is the wonderful poetess
who wrote this piece of work.

Grab Onto the Wind
The breath of the wind blows gently
shushing me, calming me
easing away the  pains
that are soon forgotten

I long to see the invisible wind
to touch it, to pull it
take it to unknown places
in my vivid mind
my imagination
that is soon embellished

The breath of the wind blows softly
soothing me, calming me
taking away mischiefs
that were once forbidden

Grab onto the wind as it passes by
hold it if just for a second
know its direction, its destiny
that is soon changed once again

The breath of the wind blows gently
shushing me, calming me
easing away the pains
that are soon forgotten

She despised him

She abhorred him
because of the lies

Hatred filled her heart

t'was all because of him

abuse.. or any other kind..

Still Learning
When an older person says something, we tend to realize how much we've yet to learn.... but when a younger person speaks up, we tend to remember how much we've forgotten. Everyone helps someone else even when they don't realize it. Have you hugged a child today?
I'm a hostess in several groups of poetry
on Facebook. I was thinking of grandparents and
the things they could teach us. Then I began
to think of the grandchildren as well.
It's amazing how much we can learn from them.

and visit with me awhile
satisfaction guaranteed
you'll leave

Come into my parlor

make me believe in you

Come into my bedroom
and close the door, My Love
tell me all your secrets
everything
you're the one I've dreamt of

Come into my castle
lay your clothes upon the floor
kiss me into the dawn
everywhere
I'll leave you wanting more

you can take away my clothes
you can take away my home
you can take away my car
even my precious stones

you can take away my sight
you can take away my heart
you can take away my health
even my possessions

with all my worldly goods gone
and with my family all laid to rest
with all the good things in life gone bad
even those closest to me

you can't have it all
I've got my pride
I've got my soul
and I have God to lean on

stripped down bare
through and through
even with all of it gone
I still have enough love
to go around

Untitled III
These words spoken by our former U.S. President, Theodore Roosevelt, and for some reason they are not leaving me. I feel led to speak about it... or rather write. ''Speak softly and carry a big stick.''
This is what I believe. In his heart he thought the soft words his mother spoke to him, or perhaps he had been reading his Bible. In either case, he remembered how soft spoken words brought happy tears, much relief, and peace. I believe also he thought of the Bible Verse in Ephesians 6:11. "Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil."
In this, he wanted us to know that we can fight with the Lord in our hearts... but not a physical fight. It is indeed a spiritual fight. When he said ''speak softly and carry a big stick'' he wanted us to know that we can go in as Christians telling the world about the Lord.
The big stick would be our Bible, or perhaps some would say 'our inner strength.'
People (young and old) are more apt to listen if we speak softly instead of hollering or screaming.
Just something to think about. I wanted to share. Hugzzz!!
