When johnny comes marching home from war
johnny isnt johnny anymore
too many images have been absorbed
and johnny isnt johnny anymore

what happened to the soldier so strong?
i'm telling you, something is wrong

they go over there and take away life
then come back home and **** their wife
with no war thats left to fight
and they dont know that ****** isnt right

when a battlefield is the only place you belong
i'm telling you, something is wrong

You can't get blood from a rose
but you can get blood from a nose
just one punch and it flows
just one smack and there it goes

you can't teach an old dog new tricks
but you can try, just for kicks
not even just fetching sticks
the mind that's trained, then conflicts

you can't move while in a pose
you pose well though i suppose
it's all highs and never lows
can't you see that you're froze
DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT....BREAK THE MOLD

the only way that he could say bye
buying a red rose and watching it die
dying to find some other way
weighing his options to live another day

he couldn't help but to feel like a heel
healing was hard and the pain was real
reality soaked him like torrential rains
reigning over his will to remain

(I am trying to get back to following the ones who follow me, or take interest in my writing. The best way to "**** out" was to unfollow all, and then look at the list of my followers. I hate to be that way, but i also hate to see the ones who unfollwed me on my "home" page. Please bear with me, because it will only allow me to follow so many people a day apparently.)
Homophone must be used as last word in first line and third line, and their homophones should be used as the first word in the second and fourth lines.

It takes an optimist to make a pessimist, and a pessimist to make an optimist. Neither one is always right.
i may make this into a poem, or song

day i saw the lady though
made my heart race and away we go
wasted cases going no places play me low
with aimless faith in faces and a radio
we say we stay us then memories stay, we go
we were already fading out the way we know
like an 80's song fades on the radio
a static that lasts and plays till the day we go
waiting like bombs saying wait till the day we blow
the days they know are way crazier than our day ago
they're staying out of the wars that we say we know
the day they say they need wasted rage is the day we go
we never did get where we'd say we'd go
in those wasted days faking it with a radio

do you remember back in the day we would
say if our hearts would stay we could
we never did the things we'd say we would
we never did go the way we should

remember back in the day we rode
saying our hearts would stay cold
up up and away we go
in our dreams and on the radio

We don't always get what we want

but we will always get what we don't want

by accepting that there's things we don't want, and leaving it alone, in case someone else wants it
we will always get what we want

We will also give by letting be

and everyone will always get what they want

It's time to release this beast
**** this disease with a feast for the least
turn the keys that free the deceased
decrease the seething and increase the peace

oh no, my eyes start to glow, I got something to say and it's coming from my soul
so low, my whole starts to show, letting go of what I know and holding on to what I owe

I choose what's good for the goose
to bruise the losing and let the gander loose
tune the fuse and use the fruitful juice
truth coming through to loosen the noose

Close your eyes and plug your ears
get a glass and chug your fears
dispose of lies and tug your gears
no disguise as you shrug your tears

believe no other, but believe yourself
deceive and smother, relieve yourself
leave no other to conceive yourself
leave another, to achieve yourself

let what you know go and think about
i bet you know no link to shout
just to get to make a stink about
just never let you sink in doubt

Remember, it takes a hell of a lot of coal, trees, and gasoline to produce and move electricity. It also takes a hell of a lot of electricity, trees, and coal to produce gasoline. Same can be said about coal. It takes a lot of trees, electricity and gasoline to produce coal. Hello? Knock knock. Anyone home? Add in helium and other gases too.

it's nice how we all came together
to have this reunion day
a lot has changed since we've seen each other
but some things never go away

eyes look toward the lesser blessed
without understanding of their soul
we think we know a lot about each other
but some things we will never know

disgust on faces and ***** looks
she will never be our kind
voices mutter words of judgment
from behind the defining line

a woman walks off into the rain
as a Cadillac pulls away
they will never know her pain
at least not on this reunion day

Walking down the road to nowhere
stumbling over rocks and debris
I never really wanted to go there
I never wanted this to be me

seems like dividing lines are blurry
I don't know if i'm in my lane
still, I head straight in a hurry
always stepping on my pain

the horizon and distance is the same
and the sign said no u-turn
the pavement is as hot as a flame
and all I can do is walk on to burn
GaryFairy Dec 2013
Riding on the road to ruin
trash lined and lost highway
I never knew what I was doin
but I still chose to go my way

looking at oil stained pavement
life's blood of death's machine
driving right where the brave went
seemingly stuck in between

it is turning to a road of gravel
soon to be mud and dirt
as I watch my road unravel
it is only me that I hurt

go break me a switch off that tree
i'll teach you a lesson you'll never forget
through the violence you will see
how these whelts will make you regret

you better just stand there and take it
don't act a fool, and scream and shout
this is love, don't you mistake it
cry, and i'll give you something to cry about

i'm going cut a road map on your back

see the routes that lead to the pain
under passes of the past
i know every road by name
and the street signs will always last

These branches have extended so far
protected by the outer bark
the inner wood is soft, not hard

my soul had left it's residence
restless essence led to the exodus

The bass grow as long as your arm
down by mr thompson's farm
the flatrock river licks it's muddy ridge
underneath of a covered bridge

emerald shiners mirror the light
a grey heron takes to flight
catching crawdads for a hopeful cast
while the shoals of minnows pass
This is about my time when I lived in Rushville, Indiana. I used to fish under a very old covered bridge. It was the best fishing of my life, and I am pretty sure that I caught some record smallmouth bass. I never weighed them though.

a path through the meadow, box turtle's trail

you are safe inside your shell

I always wanted to be a part of it, from the start of it, to get deep down in the heart of it, i only did it for the art of it, apart of it, i want to be the dart of it

i always wanted to be articulate, intricately magnificent, like king of the syndicate, i always tried to go fist to fist with it, trying to be a significant participant

in the eyes of a reflection
shattered by things that are unseen
eyes aren't polarized to see beyond other eyes

shining water looks up at me
I see myself and beyond the surface
aquatic life isn't hiding behind other guise?

in the glass of the shattering
I see myself as that broken image
a war was fought. but no war was won

shining sky looks down on me
you handed me a broken mirror
then you said "look what he has done"
Based on new biology, and the fact that environment causes sickness. The things we say and do were downloaded by us from our environment and what we saw and heard in the first 7 years or so...some good proof is language...a child can learn three languages at once, at the age of three, and an adult has trouble learning one new language...meditation can escape the bad stuff by bringing true consciousness...10,000 signals a second, the brain can send, but some of us have some bad ideas(signals) interfering...i am willing to help anyone i can, but you must be willing to admit that you know nothing, as i did...once you realize that you know nothing, it opens up a beautiful world, as seen through a child's eyes, and makes learning easy again

I am happy to say that a musical artist has featured my poem at the beginning of their video. I had pretty much given up on writing, and she breathed new life into me. Her name is Razakel and she is also a poet. She is breaking through, and considered by many as the queen of her genre. Watch the video and give us some love. She has a cool sound, and is better than most modern music. I now love this website. (i still hate most poetry) I never got much support at this site, so do not let that bring you down. They pay for popularity here and it is all an illusion. This will be ignored because poets are a jealous and envious bunch. I actually posted this last night, and lost followers, and was blocked by someone who i thought was a true friend. You don't need their approval. All you need is to show your own voice and the will to stand alone...then you will find true hearts. I hope this inspires you to keep writing and never ever compromise. Also, never take advice from anyone. lol

She told me my voice is soothing
like a river of flowing grace
she said my stories are moving
they take her from place to place

she told me my eyes were shadows
like the deepest of the night
she said that they shot arrows
at everything in my sight

she told me my arms were safer
like guards for her heart
she said that I could take her
that I was her brand new start

she told me love lasts forever
like the moon and the stars
she said that I was a pleasure
that I healed all of her scars

she told me that we were closer
like more than just a friend
then I looked over my shoulder
she was gone like the wind
