Every time I get to see your bright smile
It makes my heart glow with hundreds of happy lights
I wish I was able to spend more time in your presence
Sometimes miss your laugh on quiet nights

And even when we have not talked in weeks
I do not feel distressed, down, or blue
The warming touch of memory
Brings back all the things I love about you
For Brittney

I swear I will spend my whole life trying
To figure out which turn we took wrong
Because I cannot let go of you
I'm sure I'll never be that strong

Can't forget the way it feels
To have your skin pushed close to mine
To hear you whisper you love me
While hands meet and intertwine

Miss the sound of your heartbeat
Can't survive without your touch
I've been falling apart since you left me
I love you too **** much

I wonder if you are happy now
With peace of mind, an empty bed
If you grow tired of being alone
You can come sleep with me instead

Jealousy; a twisted game
That I am not eager to try
If I really have to confess
I am jealous of the sky

I would give anything to be like that
No concious concerns, careless, carefree
Away from Earths breaking existence
That's the life for me

People below would feel my tears
And dance among my pain
Laughing as I cried, shaking, hurt
Thanking me for bestowing rain
I wieh ny tears were good for something

Call me "druggie" or any other name you want
I am more than the degenerate society sees
Quick to be cold, they don't know who I am
Toss insults around like leaves in the breeze

I tried to make people understand
Staring is not the correct way to learn
Lack of caring, disrespectful looks
Is all an addict will earn

Show me one person who has never been down
Has no mistakes to hold
Demons find their way into all of us
Life leaves the warmest hearts cold

Things taken in different strides
Each person handles pain in their own way
Some stand ground, others escape
Sense of self-worth is the price we pay

Because of you, the stigma you spread
I found how harshly most judge
I want to educate ignorant masses
Their opinions too rigid to budge
I hate being judged on who I was in the past

Maybe in a different life
You would actually mean the words you say
I would have tried a little harder
It doesn't change how we feel today
It’s quite a thing for us to have
A beating, working heart
To inhale, exhale, inhale again
As you fall spectacularly apart

For when you die according to
Any book I’ve read
Your heart goes still, your lungs deflate
To be considered dead

You shouldn’t feel the pulsing blood
Flow warmly through your veins
You shouldn’t walk and talk and think
Or feel such intense pain

There’s something so poetic
In being the walking dead
To be murdered so profoundly
On such an inconsequential bed

As dignity fell to the ground
Like a ***** takes of her clothes
Your body somehow betrays itself
And completely and utterly froze

So while you lay there dying
Your heart remains so strong
Your lungs- they keep on breathing-
It’s as though there’s nothing wrong

When the killing is finally finished
When the deed is finally done
The world slowed and hastened all at once
Into confused, oblivion

For how can you be breathing
When your life has come to an end?
When you’ve been so completely broken
There’s nothing left to even mend

But get up and walk you do
And inhale, exhale you must
Because, unfortunately, your heart must stop
For you to turn to dust

Like a ghost without the benefit
Of being properly dead
You inhale, exhale, all the while
With that memory in your head

Being undead hurts and numbs your
Senses simultaneously
And your wounds bleed out in places
No one else can feel or see

Wake up, inhale, exhale, sigh
Pretend the same you still exists
But that girl is dead and gone
Even though her ghost persists

Now that I have begun to heal
I do not want to remember
The heartache you made me feel
Those cold days in December

Tonight I am destined to fail
Mind will take me back
The concrete wall surrounding
My fragile heart will crack

Memories will trickle out,
One moment after the other
I will try to make them go away
They're too strong to smother

I have hidden them for far too long
In your quiet presence they awaken
Reminding me that I cannot have
Back pieces you have taken

All this time I have avoided
Mention of your name
Because I will not allow myself
To fall again into your game

Every once in awhile
I forget that you are a liar
It slips my distracted mind how dangerous
It is to play with burning fire

Hear a maybe in my head
Feel a little flicker of what we had
I reminisce about how it once was
Before our relationship went bad

I should know better
I see through your disguise
A master of illusion
You have one billion alibis

So tell me that you have changed
You're sorry you didn't stay
But do not expect me to believe
You're as different as you say

I could not handle all the hurt
Although you bring laughter
Because I finally realize with you
There is no such thing as "happily-ever-after"

Even back then you were breaking my heart.. i guess it's always been you.
