Eye's haunted
not wanting to see
what the heart knows
a tragic reality.

Sweet innocent child,
Why did it have to be?
my baby boy River
and not me.
This was written in response to the drowning death of two year old River Smith the son of country music singer Granger Smith.  River drowned in their back yard pool earlier this summer.  Thank you to all of you that take the time to read my work.

Before pointing fingers
peer deep inside,
behind your insecurities
is where the truth resides.

The agonizing honesty
that it's easier to blame
than dig deep in your soul.
Find your courage and cast your shame.
Thank you to everyone who is reading my poems.  I appreciate you more than you know.  Shout out to my inner circle love and appreciate you all.

To teach me about loss,
no matter the cost.

To see if my heart beats,
through sadness and defeat.

To make me appreciate more,
not live to settle a score.

To make my faith stronger,
and question God's why no longer.
Thank you for taking the time to read my poems.  As always thank you to everyone who supports and encourages me to be the best me I can be.

Trying something a little different.  Thank you as always to all those who support me and read my poems.  Shout out to Christian, Favour, Sheela, Court, James, Sydney and Jim.  Thank you also to my big brother Todd for encouraging me to be awesome everyday...Haha

Think about your self less
and your community more
plant the seeds of success
that open prosperity's door.
In a world that is so full of selfishness it is important to remember to strive to leave a legacy that will remain when you're gone.  Thank you to my family and friends who encourage and support me.  Syd, James, Jimmy, Todd, Sheela, Courtney and Christian.

Scars on the inside
are prominent to
the one that wears them,
but invisible
to humanity.
Thank you for reading my poems. It took a long time and lots of encouragement from some amazing family and friends for me to finally post my work.  Thank you C. Love, Sheela, Court, Todd and Syd.
