You have to confront it
To overcome it.
Stop hiding,
Start attacking,
Victory awaiting!
Who says you cannot achieve it? It all depends on you!

My life is a string
Too tiny it can snap
My life is a rock
Too heavy, it’s a burden
My life is not a story
That I can share with a smile.

I survived a hurricane
I escaped a drought
A heat wave just concluded
Yet I am still alive
Writing…

I wander alone in this world
A world ‘we’ are so many
While they, ‘them’ live a lavish life
We are ravished recklessly
Wondering…

All I need is someone to call mine
A shoulder to lean on
A shoulder to cry on
But still my shoulder rejects my soul
Lamenting…

Underlying tension in the air.

Is a breakup near or is it just fear?

You're starting to peel my layers, coming closer to the truth..

Can you handle it?

Can I?

I can feel the darkness inside me again.

Fighting so hard to stay in the light where I wanna be.

Even if I can't win this battle,

please don't leave me..

Make it through make it true
Lay it bare if you dare
Banish doubt make it count
Look around you’ve made it there

Shout it far show your scars
Fill the day with twenty-four hours
This is it what we’ve got
Looks like **** but it’s ours

You see this life filled with strife
So much hurt so much pain
Now you win now you lose
One’s loss another’s gain

It wasn’t meant to be pretty
Empty towns ***** cities
People all around have issues
Insecure, lost and misused

You can choose to stay and fight
Assert yourself claim your rights
Or decide to turn away
Make your mark another day

Showing up is half the battle
Knocked down back in the saddle
It’s not the wins and the losses
It’s the learning it’s a process

At the end of the day
Stop and do the math
Those who've made hay
Don’t have to look back.

Initially

We rehearsed
How to celebrate
After the win

At the same time
They prepared
How to play better
To win

And your guess is right
What the result is

Remember the Rush?
I do.
Remember the Feel?
I do.

Remember the time you felt alive and all was still?
The day you got that
That medal of yours

You thirsted for them
Had to have more
And you achieved another
Another achieved again

But that last accident threw you for a spin
And you’re on bedrest
You’ve lost some shine
Like those medals

These medals of mine...
Maybe I’ll make another poem about how I get up and become what I used to be but I can’t do that because it’s not true... I really peaked when I was younger and now I don’t have anything going for me..

To be honest
Of all
The biggest battle
One fought is within

Between
Head and Heart

Let’s keep breathing
Till
The HEAD starts to BEAT
The HEART starts to THINK
Genre: Observational
Theme: Nothing, but a truth
