Loving you is the best thing
I* can do! I want to spend
Forever with you and with
Everyday that passes I

Can't wait to be your wife!
Having you in my life has made my life better
And I can't image it without you
Nor do I want to think of that.
Going with you to baseball games, shopping, or just
Evenings at the gym or home as long as I'm
Spending time with you, I am happy!

I love you!

A little poem I wrote about my fiancé who has my heart.
He is my man, and made my life great and me a better person was day.

A thousand words cannot describe
the way you made me feel inside.
A thousand and one tears I could have cried
the moment you smiled and sighed
I do.
I promise to always be by your side.
In sickness and health, through death and the next life,
whenever you need me, I'll be more than happy to oblige.
No matter of rich or poor or where we reside,
wherever you want to go I'll take you there; I'll be your guide.

I vow myself entirely to you.
No words ring more clear or true
than those three bold words: I love you.

You make me the happiest person alive
and I vow, until the day I die,
you will never regret the day you said

*I do.

A toll rings loud and clear throughout the musty cellar,
Through the halls of the vast dungeon at night.
I wait for one of them to come down and speak
To me about the "others," the valued, the "wise,"
It's the same thing every year, this lonely life.
I hear a creak, must be nothing, I turn on the light,
Swear I saw a ghost, still nothing.
Vaguely, I've been searching for an answer to this riddle,
It will only take a few moments of your time
To sit there between the vagabond with the fiddle,
And the one who must be low as slime.
It's your call-I ask you-for your opinion,
You laugh in my face-if I seek your words-I'm a disgrace,
Riddled with handed down problems, no given grace,
A roaring of thunder, brew of secret ingredients,
From a distance I can still hear you laughing in my face,
Speaking magic spells of strange and creepy "enchantments,"
Even from afar, even from my un-chosen wife's place.

Dear sweetheart,
He's not coming.
And I know you've picked out that dress 6 years ago,
and yes you look beautiful,
but trust me when I tell you that you're meant to wear a different one.
And I know you've given him all you could, but believe me, you'll learn you have so much more to you when you let go.
This church your standing on was made for a different reason,
and most of the people here weren't meant to sit on those chairs.
And the people meant to be here today, you have not met yet
And sweetheart, contrary to your feelings, he does not deserve your tears.
You will see things you have never imagined that he wouldn't care about.
Your days will be filled of other people, while his will be filled of something else
Your heart will be filled with burden, but this is not one of them.
And The Lord will give you the same power he did to Jesus for the sick,
But my dear, you have to free your hands from clinging on to his
And yes, there will be days you wonder how you could bring a dead heart back to life, yet can't do the same to yourself
And you'll be surprised how steady and strong your pulse will be, but feel absolutely empty
I know you've been anticipating this day your whole life,
But there are days made for you grander than this.
You were created for something much greater than you credit yourself for.
And I know you love him
And we still do
But he's not coming
And sooner or later you'll discover
You're glad he didn't.
When I was 14, I had a boyfriend who I was so sure would be my future husband. By 15, we had a plan to get married right before I go to med school. Just like most teenage love, we ended up having to go our separate ways. As our supposed wedding day approaches, this is the letter I wrote to myself to remind myself that things happen for a reason. A lot has changed since then.

In the beginning, John revealed the light
and said, "Let men repent."
And John's Aunt Mary saw that was good.
-
And John declared to the crowds, "Behold
Sin is taken away by the Lamb of God."
And there was water
and over the water there was the Spirit
hovering;
heaven tore down, and Mary saw
that this was God.
And God was well pleased.
-
Then
Jesus called Andrew
Andrew called Simon
Jesus called Simon, Peter.
And there was evening and there was morning, a very full First Day.
-
Jesus called, "Follow me, Philip".
Philip saw the Law and the Prophets fulfilled.
Philip called Nathaniel
and after a bout of doubt
and a lesson routed in a fig tree
Nathaniel came to see
a teacher and his God and his King.
-
And there was faith
and the promise of a great adventure.
More than enough for the Second Day.
-
-
There was a wedding in Cana
and Mary nudged her son:
'The wine has finished
This - is - not - good.'
And Jesus said, 'Mum. Not now'.
-
And Mary said
'Listen to your mother.'
-
And Jesus sighed.
-
And Mary told the servants,
"Do whatever he tells you."
-
Then Jesus saw that it was no use to argue.
And he said, "let there be water".
And they rolled across the stone jars in front of him.
-
And Jesus said, "let there be wine".
And it was so - very - good.
-
And Mary smiled to herself,
thinking how Joseph would have loved this,
and whispered to Jesus:
'This just the start you know.'
And he did,
and it was.
-
And there was a Mother's faith
and there were gallons of glorious wine.
And Mary kept on smiling, so proud of her son
and of this start of his new-vintage Kingdom
with this original third day, rolled-stone, miracle.
-
And there was a party,
and singing
and there was much laughter,
and the Son danced
with his mother through the night.
-
There was evening and there was morning,
a Fine Third Day.
With thanks to Sam Isaacson for th original idea.

The whites of her dress
matches the whites of her eyes
when the church bell rings
and the black parts roll behind
The red from her middle
spreading across the cloth
beautiful, like a mosaic
of purity

They say we were all born
To run into the abyss
To embrace the darkness
And accept Deaths' kiss

That we are travelling an entire lifetime
Just to die

I'm not so sure

Because it's not about the destination
It's about the journey
Travelling in heat and cold
From freezing to burning

Let emotions run free
Run as wild as can be
See what I mean?
It's all about the journey

The road less travelled and sometimes dim
Is the road we follow even when it gets grim
Attending weddings and funeral days
Sitting in a pub having a beer with mates

Or sitting on your bed with your laptop open
Making words rhyme and leaving some unspoken
To publish your mind, upload it on a website
No matter the time, even when it's 6 o'clock at night

To love and to hate and make something mutual
To reminisce the past or speak of the future
To live and to die, either one is alright
But we do not live just to meet the darkness of night
The woman of the roe, she hath wished to hath but something,
Stumbled and fell low, for some life’s more, is stumbling.

But as she gathered quick and made for her future love, quiche-pie,
Came attracted-too, her morning dew, a man who made her sigh!

He owned but just a farm, some animals or such,
Not much else but kind his touch and here a fellow once yoked too much,

Of beauty’s graceful arm…not the beauty of his farm,
He sold it all upon heart’s fall and bought her one fair ring!
And she a dove, did fall in love; her child years still bearing.

Once ready to wed she doth had said;

“My early years spent erring,”
“But came at last to change my past and seen me for my caring.”
“I love this man, this farmer-fellow, the one at which I’m staring!”

The priest he asked, “What are thine names?”

And both of them stuck glaring…
For neither knew, though love was true, they replied;

*“I think tis time for fair rings!”

What a special day I had today.
So special, and it was not even mine.

The sun was warming.
It was God's wind blowing.
And for once, we all were there,
and all our love was showing.
And the children
in the day,
they were laughing, having fun.
And everyone was smiling.
It was all I ever I wanted,
and it was not even mine.

My sister.
It was her day.
And yet the sun could almost die,
but for the radiant Patricia
could keep any heart alive.
Immaculate,
in white and lace.
Enchanting. Captivating.
The gods above did fall in love,
but she shall keep them waiting.

Her husband.
It was his day.
He thanked us just because,
we were who we were,
and he was who he was.
He was genuine in his embrace.
Sincere in his smile.
There beside my sister,
he seemed to strike a certain style.
I knew they would be happy.
This love will last forever.
I could feel it in my heart,
and it was not even mine.

I saw my mother.
She was smiling with a tear.
My father sighed and shook his head,
perhaps somewhere in yesteryear.
Here, witnessing the true event
of what pain and sacrifice are meant.
Knowing in some way she's leaving.
But, in marriage, true believing.
I wanted to laugh as well as cry,
and it was not even mine.

My sisters.
They all did contest.
Competing with the bride.
Resplendent.
They did look their best,
I still cannot decide,
if it was they that looked more beautiful
or more the day
and all the view.
And as I looked around at wide-eyed guests,
I knew that they did wonder, too.

My brothers.
All so strong and cool.
Among the guests,
so sure to fool.
Of four, three of us still *****.
We swear those words will not be said!
We congratulate.
We poke and jibe.
And yet we keep the truth inside.
We stop and think about our day.
We dream.
We hope its something like today.
I dream and sigh,
and want today,
though it was not even mine.

As we gathered for the photograph
I began to see my flaw.
This day that I had wanted,
it was no ones day at all.
For days that are this beautiful,
and this loving, I have learned,
are only lent to us by God,
and soon must be returned.
But we can take from it our memories,
and our dreams and friendships, too.
Patricia and Mike will take each other,
and a love that lives anew.
(To my sister Patricia on her wedding day)

That was euphoria
Im in when I dreamt of you.
Stars and moon are in my grasp
Thinking I'd never wake up.
Aisle with petals---**you're waiting
