There's a bond, between husband and wife,
between father and son, mother and child,
Earth and life; more than death to do you part,
it kindles warmly inside; a never-ending flame
that brightens even our darkest nights;

It ignites when you stare in the eyes of your loved ones,
when you hear those laughs or see them tears of joy
from young ones; a substance we all seek,
larger than the lust we all long for; makes us feel complete
or weak at the knees, its what our souls yearn for,
from the soles of our feet, and the very tips of our toes,
to the tops of our heads, our minds modestly know; we
understand the need but see, knowledge, faith and prophesy,
to say the least, are incomplete, if you know not love,
you gain
nothing;

You remain as such -- just a nowt
Like a flourished flower -- wind wipes it out
And its place knows it no more
Without love, What are we made for?

If I gave away all I have - sacrificed my life and
breathed my last, but had not loved, then its just sad
It was all in vein. Life goes by fast.
Good works are good, but they're not good enough
Love takes compassion to remove all the cuffs --
We are responsible for our relationships
and for the fruit that result as the products;
Forbidden or toxic or rotten or empty,
Healthy or edible --  all evidently
Sow and you reap and you reap what you sow
Love is patient and kind and its anger is slow;

With no record of wrongs, Love rejoices with truth
Love bears all things, believes all things
Hopes all and endures too; Love doesnt boast or envy,
Its not arrogant or rude; Love's not so self-insisting
Love is all these things; How about you?

Do you reflect love or put it to shame?
Does love surround you or are you misplaced?
As I look in this mirror, making known this face,
Am I really the product of God's love and grace?

There's a bond, between husband and wife,
between father and son, mother and child,
Earth and life; more than death to do you part,
it kindles warmly inside; a never-ending flame
that brightens even our darkest nights;

LOVE IS ______!
Amanda Kay Burke Feb 2019
I am holding onto something
I'm scared it isn't real
Is this an illusion?
Is it what you really feel?

I know it is wishful thinking
Wishes don't come true
Every time you're on my mind
I hope I am on yours too

I am waiting for your attitude to change
Wondering when it will end
The moment heart finally breaks
Allowing it to start to mend

Labyrinths have me trapped
In each feeling you raise
Searching but I still can't find
My way out of this maze
You ah-maze me...

Tackle the power
with a golden flower.
Just to be sure of what you did
Never let anything in the world be hid
Go out there and be yourself
Never on the past should you delve
Heave a sigh of relief
Never loose faith in your belief
Be the person you always wanted to be
Accept the world as you shall see
Turn the page, start the next chapter
Keep moving on, never falter.

Days turned months, and months to years,
The child now a youth smiled no more.
She alone could see her tears,
As she kept on singing, like an age old chore.
She longed to see the endless sands,
She longed to see the mountains high.
She wished to visit foreign lands,
And soar above all, through the boundless sky.
To be continued...

Sometimes a dark alleyway
is not just a passing passage.
Like a long haul shadow
it stays on down the moon.

It can pierce a veil of darkness
Unravel like the extension of an arm
And seep, deep into folds of the extreme
Coloring the simple walls of where we've already been
And in your eyes I can see it still
Like the warming sentiments of summer
As the winter ground reflects it all around
Because inside is where the light bends
And without break it begins a sound
Did you ever notice? The way light means more than it did all day long.

you were the treasure
at the end of the rainbow.
The rainbow dispelling hope after the storm.
The storm that quenched the drought.
the drought that birthed the thirst.
The thirst that craved a companion.
The companion who led the way.
                        The way that never was.
Pay for Light
Money for friendship.

Gold for survival.

Once you run out of such funds for “Livelihood”

You go bankrupt owing those who “are paid to care”

Your life as collateral.

You are disciplined to treat such people kinder than yourself.

All your career, future hopes, and dreams are “poppycock.”

“Just Deal with it or find someone else who will deal with you.”

Traveling to only where they wish to go

They hold deaf ears to places you hold dear to visit.

To ask for help is deemed as “selfish”

as you are a burden to them.

Even though they offer.

Down on your luck with credit and avenues of other to plot a course down..

Your life is lived as a hostage and as their pet.

Sleeping in small spaces upon a space on the floor.

Tears fall.

As it is hard to sleep.

Not knowing if a future is a right for you to keep.

Every day that shines
down the sun
I wonder what has it to hide.
In the end, it only dips
down into the deep night.

I've been looking around
counting day after day.
Now years went by
countless things I see
pretty much all things.
But what’s in the hide?

Tell me where?
If you know the way.
I am been skipped
I see me not
looking with my eyes!

A part of me is missing
And I don't know how to get it back

I don't understand why I'm so broken

A part of me is missing
And I don't know how to get it back
