I wonder what song
was playing in your head
when you suddenly realized
that you were dead.
Shim-sham', shakin' your way
right back into the universe.
And I’m trying, just trying
to follow your breadcrumbs.

Samhain, thin veil between spirit worlds.
I think I'll find you tonight.

I hide my tears behind the veil of my smile
I stay happy in a perfect style
I hide my cry behind the veil of my laugh
I laugh with them when they laugh
I hide my loneliness
Behind the veil of my happiness
I fall, I rise only to fall again
Burning memories of past remain
Oh! Why do I lose my loved one
With this I am just done
I live in dark pain
And when some light I regain
Into my life darkness awaits
Behind the veil of lights...

You gently hold my head and look into my eyes
I can feel you searching for what I keep deep inside
I try to shift my gaze, trying my demons and monster to hide

It doesn't work, you hold me tight
My body stiffens, I want to take flight
For what resides within me is a horrific sight

I try to keep you at a distance, I don't want you to close
I don't want to scare you away with my many ghost
It's because I like you a lot more than most

But still you insists on peering in
To see what dwells beneath my skin
I know this is the begaining of the end

For no one that sees inside, stays
It just happens to be that way
They are always scared by the gray

They don't even see the very bottom, the dark
They just leave another scar, another mark
I'm to shattered, my life to stark

I had a golden heart, that long ago was beaten and crushed
I think is was because I loved to much
All those that through my life rushed

But I don't want you to go
So please don't look into my eyes to see my soul
After all theses years it's to black, to cold
I don't want the empty void to show
I want if only for a few nights, you to hold

The shadows in our hearts the heat and tremors not from the ground but from within.. will we ever know the presents intention? What are we living for? Will we ever know.. then the veil of destruction how long has anger enticed his veins how long has pain subdued his senses he wondered then nothingness not even him it was darkness now.. what lurked within.. will tomorrow be the answer.. was courage enough was rage enough the veil opens.. light but he can't see inside what is this feeling what is this life why me? why anybody? what is purpose how did we cause.. can it ever be rewritten? only in time can we find out all we may know..

If we threw off each person's veil,
Revealed the darkness that exists in each,
Many would be taken aback,
A keen understanding we would reach.

There is bad in each person,
Some conceal it better than others;
They fret that their sin is showing,
To their sisters and brothers.

There is also good present
In all of earth's people;
Even the ones that we deem
To be irrefutably evil.

No human is perfect,
For we are a very imperfect species;
We thrive on the emotion that builds and breaks us,
The things that teach or break us to pieces.

I am not calling you to remove your veil,
Nor do you have to tell your sins;
I am simply saying examine yourself,
Your outs and your ins.

Know yourself better than you know
This complicated world;
Only then will you find peace
During life into which you were hurled.

How can birds sing, if taken from the meadow?
Cloistered away in silent fear
envious of the boundless skies
Even her wings are held earthbound
defenceless is she, and silent as the grave.

What sun may rise for she who walks in shadow,
the blackness that makes her disappear
hidden away from prying eyes
Too fearful to make the smallest sound
accepting of pain, and living as a slave.

Unveiling true identity
comes after much suffering
What is true
cannot but hide forever

The veil protects the lamb
From being caught off-guard
The veil of name,
place, fortune and fame.

The veil keeps identity hidden
Till the lamb is ready to bare
Bare it does, in due time
For the purpose is known
To the lamb of innocent care

unveiling true identity
comes after much suffering
What is true
cannot but hide forever

The veil protects the lamb
From being caught off-guard
The veil of name,
place, fortune and fame.

Occasionally as when viewed through a veil
life splits, refracting like light
your pupils taut in appraisal of
all the things you can't change
& all the things you can
you pour yourself another whiskey
& somewhere someone switches off the night
a lonesome rook lands on a Church roof
a poem is read out loud to no-one
a child presses a kiss on someone's cheek
you find yourself in these moments
or you think you do
& for the moment,
that's enough
Eyes of an owl, I observe
My stare intense, yet calm
I see through illusion, deceit
I see right through you
& know you instantly

I see your true self
Your weaknesses
Your strengths

I see in what you hide so dearly
But in the eyes of an owl
I lift the veil you have placed
It exposes you
Eyes of an owl, I have
