There is no other
Rush like the one I get from
The smell of your skin
It is positively intoxicating

There was once two,
that cared about each other.
They were happily together so long,
it was unimagined that anything could go wrong.

When he saw her,
with her beautiful blond hair,
that coiled around his fingers anytime he felt it.
Her sweet chocolate eyes that stared
and pierced through what pumped his blood
to keep him there.

Her sweet voice attracted him like a honey bee to a flower,
soft, like the ocean waves.
A sound you could fall asleep to,
but wouldn't because you'd never get bored.

The taste of her lips unique,
He loved to kiss her cheek.
When they hugged and he bowed his head over her shoulder,
he felt his cheek pressed against her clavicle,
wondering if she felt the discomfort of bone against bone.

He could smell her perfume, especially on dates.
But nothing could smell better to him than her natural scent;
Freshly showered every morning,
coffee on the table waiting,
setting the expectation that today will be a great day.

He leaves to work,
believing when he returns she'd be there.
At the same time,
nothing makes him more sad,
than knowing she is allowed to leave forever.
yet, more beautiful than a dove in a cage,
is the one that is always free.

Do you smell that?
It's the scent of cedar burning
for weeks its been snowing
the smell is so warming
and my love for you is growing;
much like the ambers that are glowing.

But if you listen closely
you can hear the ice cracking
from the lake that is thawing
hope for winter's ending
so that spring can be inviting
similar to your grasp;
refreshing and exciting.

So for now,
it's the taste of cocoa
- hot and so soothing
my tastebuds are dancing
I am shamelessly swooning -
sugar
milk
chocolate
and you;
the best way to enjoy
all the sweet winter choosings.
I left out sight because it didn't flow properly.

Spring… by Jessie 3/07

Awaken… slumber no more
Arise and allow the warmth of longer days to melt away encapsulated desires.
Like sap from a tree, surging to its highest points, rejuvenating and bringing life back to the dormant.
Blink, then blink again, reacquaint thy eyes with anew
Reach out; allow the sinew that binds around thy bones to become malleable
Smell the sweet allure of what’s to come
Young buds waiting to burst in an array of colors, painting last season’s neglect
The faint sound of the highest keys, musically tapping into an ensemble
of nourishing delight.
Shifting winds, cleansing the earth of its ice incrusted shell
Meadowlarks, blessing the transformation with their melodic calls
Bathe, in the new day of Spring

I Need You…by Jessie 4/05

You are not here but I feel you
As I roll over in bed and stare at an empty pillow
I see you
Lying peacefully next to me, like an Angel
I reach out and you are gone
As I walk the early morning preparing for the day
I hear you
You are in the wind, the sun, and the air I breathe
A warm breeze from the south blows in
I touch you
Vaporous and transparent yet substantial in it’s caress
As I walk the fence line of honey suckle
I smell you
The sweet fragrant essence of what I know is you
As it begins to rain, I lift my face to the sky, open my mouth
I taste you
The purity of the morning rain
Soft and delicate as it hits my tong
I look around, you are not there
I sense you
Holding me, loving me
I need you

you smell like lavender and
everything i've ever wanted

Not for the sake of long outstrip, in lieu of affinity.
Not for the sake of anger, in lieu of affection.
Not far away, today I am far away.
Don't have that glad of touch.
Don't have that air, full of her smell.
The wet air of monsoon call me today with long breath.
Glimpse of lost somewhere.

I see you every time I pass a place of old memories.
My eyes try to blink away the tears
His love was treachery
A ****** up affair

The scent of you
Earth and musk
Lingers in the breeze
Dawn to dusk

I taste you
On the tip of my tongue
(It’s kind of like a tattoo)
At the back of my throat
(God, we were young)

Your hands traveled
Down a lace thong
Unraveled my heart
Along with a black bra

I still hear your voice
Sighing words into my skin
Ringing alarm bells in my ears
Divulging secrets to my eager grin

My eyes have been overcast since the day you left
Reminders burned into my fovea centralis
(birthdays, favorite cigarettes, us undressed)
My sclera turned into translucent glass
All I hear is relentless noise
Or mindless buzzing
All I taste is alfalfa sprouts and chouse
I catch your cologne
Performing ballet in my clothes
(I should have known)

You always enjoyed
Feeling the drumming of my empty heart
Pumping blood to five senses that dance
To the beat of broken abstract art
i got my heart broken and it still hurts

I can still feel your heartbeat
Faster than I've ever felt
Loudest sound against my ear
With my head against your chest, I know you're nervous
You reassure what I already know as you whisper your thoughts
I can still smell your scent filling up my nose as we exchange our first kiss
Ushering me to the bedroom, I feel your heartbeat once again
I can still feel your skin grazing mine as we touch for the first time
I'd swear you were a magician pulling rabbits out of hats
You had my full attention
Seeing you in a new light now is something I don't mind
I can still feel my tears rolling down my cheek as we said our last goodbye
I knew it would be our last.
I cling on to every moment.
The air, the cold December air.
No longer December, but I can still feel e v e r y t h i n g
goodbye, Clyde
