wrathful-seeming clouds
gather
their leaden gray
turning
to ominously dark

the entire canopy
gloomily
tenebrous now

a deathly silence
falls

the calm before the storm

but calm like this
though silent
is unrest
at its peak

the heavens
start to growl a bit
like hungry hounds

thunderous bolts of lightning
erupt
and rip
the sky

the gravid clouds
flowing with
nourishment
like
a mother's
bounteous *******

release
in torrents
as if no individual
drops exist

a deluge
of relief

filling creeks
and rivers

renewing
sun-parched earth

the urgency met
the rain slows
to steady gentle drops

sweet moisture

soaking
seeking
roots

caressing leaves with cool relief

and giving everything
new life
I love a good thunderstorm, followed by a soaking rain, especially when the earth's need is great.

Doomsday nurses us from the start, reigning over the watchlist of our lifetimes. I walk through the destruction in my path while ignoring the hand I dealt in it. The disillusionment falls out of your mouth and I weep tears at the sight. The end of a cycle. I nutured you whole and watched the lilacs bloom from your scalp. Started as buds but with the passage of time became weeded. I thought I breathed new life but it stands as just obliteration.
Written during a realization that everything in my life is a product of my own actions and thoughts up to this point

Fire
Crisp and articulated

Rain
Cool and elevated

Both, with shimmering
Waves and rays, will glimmer

While two live contrarily
Lightning and thunder;

Confrontation and unity
rarely exists without the other

But fire and rain
Are forbidden lovers

Renewal
Refreshing and purposeful

Purity
Unified and spiritual

Both, with encouraging
Words to say, will linger

And both live harmoniously:
Love and serenity;

Coercion and synchronicity
Are necessarily together

For renewal and purity
Are meant for each other

Spring is finally here: winter has come and passed.
Days are getting longer, it's getting warmer at last.
Sunshine melts the snow to quench the thirsty ground,
And on Easter morning, many eggs are found.
Red and yellow roses, daisies and daffodils too;
The smile that appears whenever I think of you.
All creation comes alive with a natural symphony
That pours forth from every rock and stream and tree.
Music fills the air as the rainbow dances across the sky,
This beauty I cannot express no matter how hard I try.

Hope has died,
of course I cried,
death is always sad,
puts you sobbing into bed...

But sometimes it can be good,
there are things that die should.
False hope is an evil,
while it's not the devil,
it still makes your mind rebel.

When false hope dies,
the heart gets a surprise:
A clarity of thought.

You've been fighting windmills for too long,
finally your heart can hear the gong.

Dear self,
I found your old book.
The book of lines and ink that pulled you out from where you were.
Poetry saved you.
I re-read the poems you had marked.
And cried.
The poems you marked broke my heart.
Love, and deceit. Trust, and heartbreak.
You will know love. You will know trust. You will know happiness.
If I traveled back and told the girl reading those poems this,
She wouldn’t believe me.
She would’ve laughed.
Went to bed.
And died a little more inside.

Lost and confused,
like the first snowflake:
uncertain, but unknowingly
the harbinger of a knee deep, silent night,
the herald of a new carpet, crisp and white,
not destined for alone-ness,
but, in concert, ready to reflect
a glorious night of moonlight.

Like the first snowflake
you're destined
for something
glorious.
Happy New Year.

If you asked me late last night, I'd think things are hopeless

If you asked me an hour ago, I could still be easily persuaded as such

If you asked me 5 minutes ago...

I'd tell you that I'm more sure of myself and my decisions

If you asked me now...

I'd tell you I've never been more sure of anything in my life

I refuse to let this happen again, I will fight to make it happen and I will not give up till an exact conclusion is made

Either we are

Or we aren't
