The night had started to flow over the brim
I struggled to stay afloat with all my might,
Caressed in her arms I woke up in a dream
Realizing my tired reality had lost the fight.

She resembled the north star in her poise
The smile on her rose-lips could calm a storm,
Curiosity of life in her gazelle brown eyes
Rekindled a fire in my soul that I’d forlorn.

My eyes were closed shut, but heart wide open
It transpired the unconditional love of ours,
Blindly chasing a moon I’d forgotten the sun
The alluring eclipse had proven to be my curse.

The morning rays barged in unannounced
Quickly they pulled me back from the dream,
With a passion in my head and heart, I pounced
To find her and in that, the purpose for my being.
Sometimes I lose the touch of the ground when I'm chasing the sky. Only when I stumble and fall, things come into a perspective. For good.
Similar is true for love I've experienced. When I stop searching, it comes to me.
This one is for the girl who smiled when I'd given up hope.

So today is the day
You thought about being old
Your prayers suddenly became real
You saw your Dad in the backseat of a car
Until you remembered he’s no longer there

My eyes were closed
But I was still awake
I saw only grey until a small hole appeared
Inside were tiny pink flowers on a window sill
Now I’m wondering what they were doing there

It’s come down to this
Everything is a sign
It’s not so much about enjoying myself anymore
I wanted to ask someone whose been here before
So I dug a hole just to see if anyone was there

Doing yourself a serious favor
Is trying not to think so much
The answers are the usual questions
I’m not dying young but which way is the door
I drove off I but gave money to a man over there

Where am I going?
When will I die?
These are the questions
I ask myself all the time
What is my purpose?
When should I decide?
So many questions
No answers yet in sight

Determining one's self worth...
Is that really important?
Humans are seen as a pest to Nature
And as such pests to one another.
Is it really important?
To determine such a thing as one's usefulness
And one's importance?

Will it satiate the hunger of one's soul?
Or are you just desperately absorbing
Whatever threads that lay surrounding you?
Do you also know that these threads don't all pull you out?
That some of these threads are detached or will only pull you deeper?
You'll be asking why, but instead
Find yourself ****** into a vacuum
Suffocating soundlessly
Your screams vibrating against your skull
The very air no longer provided to you
On the brink of death
But... you cannot see a thing...

Open your eyes to the air you breathe,
Open your ears to the sounds we see,
Open your mind to the winds that cross the sky,
Reach out and feel the raw need to vie,
Not for money or for power,
Not for unrequited feelings,
Not for what will not return,
But for...
But for?
Ms. Society,
when in need, you're the Apple,
-in her eye...

After a fill,
     flung, tossed-away just another piece,
-of her garbage.

So I sit here on the brink of my chance,
waiting for the right time to fall.
Somehow we knew at the first glance,
but we both truly knew nothing at all.
We seem to embrace opportunity from afar,
but I vow not to wait for the world to change me.
I will follow my own true star.
Who is it that chooses who to be?
No one wants to be the shadow of a man,
or to only leave mere footprints in the sand.
For the mark will be washed away with time,
along with the shadows that have robbed me blind.
It is time for me to take that leap.
I am tired of living life asleep.
For I know it is I who decides my own fate.
We control what we create.
Now my true star is shining bright,
so I will follow it into the night.
This is an adaptation of what was originally a sonnet that I have changed into a poetic monologue for a short film that I plan to produce.
Some people,
write from the heart

While others
still, write from life

Still, others
do, think-out first

Yet to,
some, the world; joke.

The World is a Joke.

The Heart,
is emotion,

The World is a Joke.

Are you Laughing?

or,

...are you,

Writing?

Lady for your information I don't need a phycologist
To reveal my mind,
My personal discretion is not any of your business,
I really don't have the time,
Talk is so cheap in America that in anywhere else it would
Cost a mill,
Guess that's why this generation of people may extort , ****,
Sell and steal,
Reputation still at its peak and I'm more wise than anybody
Here,
So if you're thinking you could break my silence to *******
Then enforce the fear,
Mixed opinions and doubts about everything I do intrigues you to
The core,
But I have light deep inside of me while taking me home and snippeting
What's in store.

We seek The Purpose of Life,
Or just some Meaning;
A Philosophy,
As we stare through the formless mists of time.
Yet Existence simply Is,
As is Life:
Wondrous phenomenon
That happens.

We are taught to give each thing a function:
The wheel that rolls us on,
A pen which writes.
But Life is Life
Nothing more.
Generations take turns to live,
Passing on the baton.

Trying to breed ever greater Minds,
We yearn to be Immortal.
Studying those regenerating jellyfish,
The search is on
For The Fountain of Youth.

Yet maybe it’s time to stop trying
To make sense of it all.
Perhaps it’s time to spring into action,
And Get On With It.
