Things are better when the day is done,
just don’t let the morning come.
The sun goes down, but the words stay hung.
Please don’t let the morning come.
Rest your head, close your eyes.
Maybe listen to a lullaby.
But be still... for if you move,
the shadow comes.
It hurts like hell. It clouds the sky.
And you see nothing.
It never goes, but it sometimes hides.
Didn’t you listen to the lullaby?
You’re supposed to close your eyes.
The silence is the horror behind the noise.
Stay quiet.
Don’t move.
If you panic you’ll make it worse.
I’ve forgotten how to breathe.
Beg for noise and at the same time,
pray for silence.
Please,
just stay quiet.
“Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray to God you don’t hear me weep.”
There’s supposed to be a lullaby.
Where is the kind? I feel only fear.
Up comes the sun, as I drift off to sleep.
Please, God...
I feel so weak.
All this fuss over a storm that stays so quiet.
Blanket over my head,
please, stay quiet.
They say “don’t worry,”
but this will never end.
I know you hear it.
It doesn’t end.
You can’t shut out this lullaby

In a crowd of a thousand
You are the one
My eyes find first.

When the lights are dimmed
To me, you shine
No differently from a star

In the buzzing of a crowd
Your voice rings
And I turn to find you

And even when you're distracted
You make me stop and notice

But to you,
I'm just another face
Another dimmed out soul
Another voice
That adds to the buzzing

But I cant help but hope
That one day
When I'm not noticing
You'll look around
And search for me.
an old poem i wrote for my boyfriend when i first liked him three years ago :)

Her dreams-
Were too loud
And when she was told to be quiet,
She listened.
Now she just sits in silence.

What if all our thoughts
Hiding away in our head
Not being anymore there
Were told out loud, were said

It's a hurricane in my chest today and that wind is howling so loud in my mind, so I'll just lay here on my couch and watch how the storm twirls inside of me, turns me inside out, and wait it out.

No drinks, no pills
Just earbuds in LOUD
And... I’m happy
I’m enjoying it
I’m enjoying something again...
It’s... it’s been so long...
Tonight I feel like I might just be okay

It’s silent when I’m alone.
But why is it still so loud?

That voice doesn’t scream,
when I’m with a crowd.

Why does it keep,
and keep on screaming?

Why doesn’t it ever stop?
Why is it,
that when I’m alone,
I can hear every single **** raindrop

drip
drop

it doesn’t ever stop

drip
drop.
Do you also hear the silence?
Why is it so loud?

Crank up the volume,

So you can't hear a thing,
So nothing can get through,

And nothing can get out,

And you can't hear yourself,
And then you fall asleep.

Isn't that just the best thing,

That you could feel?
Wherever you are,

That peace and quiet?

Because when the music's loud
Your thoughts are silent.
