The dragon and I swoon
Beneath the evening glow,

And find critters on which
Our love bestow -

We kiss the tarot
And tilt the wine -

And from his flame
The dragon sings,

"Love is choosing,
And we've made our choice.

We break our own hearts,
And liberate ourselves.

Talking
Always talking
Clock refusing to stop
Haggard chops cop slobber
Saliva’s dripping off

Bored exhalations
Mix
Mental ice
With
Warm air

Mere exposure
Drafting
Numb staring stupor

Sleepy
Waiting to hear
Friday night brew cheers near
Oh! There’s an hour cleared!
Closing on those last four

Funny
Hours I fling so freely
I most adore
The world has there idea
Of who a woman should be
Only she knows who she is
Most of the time
She just wants to be free
This poem is dedicated to women being there true self in this world of judgemental men and so called women. I want women to be confident of who they are. Never let anyone pressure you to change who you are for  society superficial fantasy of beauty.

I was told all about revering flag
All men equal in land of the free
Then a guy hit a guy, called him ***:
Some equality. The guy he hit was me.
All I heard back then was constant rebuke
And thinly disguised batches of scorn.
So much so that I wanted to puke.
It was like they blamed me for being born.

What am I saying? They did blame me!
They wanted me to act more manfully.
There was never a another way but theirs
Not even if you are one of their heirs.
Wait, especially if you are related to them!
Who you are, the way you are is scary
Because it might make others question
Are they gay and why did they even marry?

So, I got the ugly looks and glances;
The hatred and the ugly names daily.
No chance of happy-ever-after romance
Because I was being taught to hate me.
And other gays, were taught self-hate too
And taught that they were not good.
I would have gladly reversed the situation,
In a hot minute, if I was sure I could.

But the ruling class was straight men
And their homophobic old boys club
And usually their families went along
So, there was no fix. Aye, there’s the rub.
I would be an adult before I realized
The idea is to ignore bigoted fools
And make room in your own heart
For a much more loving set of rules.

When you walked into the room
I instantly wanted to be you.

Cause she had no one to judge
  she did drugs
Talked like a lawyer
smooth and silky
like the smoke from her breath
She was always burning bright
like the embers of her cigarettes

She drinks to the perfumed liquor
of  her adventure
running on the beach
driving into trees
Listening to thirty-year-old beats
she with unlimited freedom
each with a different color of rubber
Latex next to pills
Freedom like the dredges of gas in her truck
the art on her dash
Raw feelings of a guitar
smiles worn like strings
into partying nights

How could I even begin to ask for just a kiss?
Just to be a little like someone who feels risk?

You thought me flora to be arranged.
In the muck with the fauna,
Let me be deranged.

Let me run wild, be feral.

Let me run skyclad amidst the
Trees.
Don't bind me to your reality.
Don't imprison me in your
Model of Patriarchy.

Let me dance to the moon
And sing wildly in the wind.
Encaged I'll be left enraged -
Combusting from within.

My mind is in an abyss of oblivion
From not believing what I see
A poet believes
That a word is worth thousand pictures
But some pictures
They are worth thousand nightmares
While I am awake and gasping for words to breathe
I can't imagine how I should feel
When seeing all the things I see
I can't realize what to think
Caught by a tornado of dispair
As helpness as one can be
To survive, one must have a heart of steel
To admit that the pictures are real
But all I manage to say is
It is not fair....
When seeing the footages showing the children of Mosul being pulled from under the rubble after the liberation of the city from ISIS.

Confidence is something we're allegedly taught
but somehow all of my teachings were naught

you see, I glazed over the part about self-compassion
the rest of my life spent in similar fashion

I try to re-learn all that my mind misconstrued
the hope I harbor within, I can't exclude

all I need is a bout of trust, courage, and medication
my aim is a newfound liberation
I just want to feel good, you know? I'm barely sticking my toe in this whole rhyming thing. Tell me what you think (I know it's choppy) anyway.

I saw a man
yesterday
staring at the
birds above
circulating
in the sky

I could see
his mind
liberated
in the smile
that slowly
made its way
to his face
I will start a series of shorts depicting what I see
