-Will you love me? Have you ever?
I asked while you were killing me,
Gently and infinitely,
Ripping my heart out of my chest
Making it hard for me to swim in this **** wide open ocean.

I took up gardening
during the quarantine..

I made a lovely death bed
                I mean rose bed...

My husband hasn't been back
             in a while?

O' well

             I mean, 999 I haven't seen
my husband since I sent him out
           for milk..

He was coughing a lot but
                      I'm in quarantine.

So I couldn't go to find him,
                                 I'm killing him,
sorry I'm missing him.

Blue lights flashing,
            the boys in blue..

"Would you like a coffee,

"Yes, thanks love,

As we sat across from the roses,
      I asked,    "You ok,

"Ye, I just think these things look
               nice but smell like death
,

As they leave I give them homemade cookies,
                special ingredient

homemade LSD..

Just encase they had any thoughts that I
         was the killer.

Rest in Peace hubby, I'm always right....

Death and the ***** got a high exchange rate
How much marketing is put up for the hate
Its graffiti how the bullets are sprayed on us
Splattered on our T-shirts to reminisce but never do make it on any front page
The museums are filled with masterpieces painted from the bristles of our anguish
The harsh circumstances that make us selfish
If my blood turned into a currency
how much would you sell me out for?
TOD HOWARD HAWKS Mar 2020
The title comes from the song SCARBOROUGH FAIR by Simon and Garfunkel. This one line has inspired me to write this poem. Isn't that what Generals do, "order their soldiers to ****?" And that's what soldiers do, as well as being killed, as happens to too many of them. Why don't Generals (who are themselves rarely killed) order their soldiers to love, to put down their weapons and find another human being and give that human being a hug. Maybe even break bread with their fellow member of the human race. Killing each other is insane. We no longer have to use high-powered military weapons to **** our distant relatives. Some crazy ******* (e.g. **** Trump) may accidentally, or on purpose, drop a hydrogen bomb on a city, let's say, and in so doing, **** all of humanity in short order. Nations are anachronistic anyway;  catastrophic climate change, which threatens to **** all living creations on Earth, tells us we are all in this together. There are no national, political boundaries to keep us from possibly dying of the coronavirus pandemic. The Arctic and Anarctic glaciers that are melting as I compose this poem are oblivious to national, political boundaries. So are the toxic fumes that oil-using nations spew into the air that all living creatures eventually breathe and, in time, die from doing so. Why do we need Generals ordering their soldiers to **** when presidents and dictators are doing a far better job of killing than Generals ever could? I myself prefer a hug to a hydrogen bomb.

I hear it's dark
There is no electricity,no food,
no sun-just the moon.

I hear it's not safe too
There is no money, no love,
no birthing-just abortions!
From the unborn baby's perspective.

You're a tree of knowledge
I'm your fallen leaf
This ground between us
So cold and stark
So waterless
I cannot survive
If ever you loved me at all
Please end this misery
By finishing me off

I thought it will be
A nowhere leading road,
a small puddle in the sun.
My hope grew with every sight,
every touch, every kiss.
My hope killed me,
your fortune was
to leave me,
to take my life.
I am tortured infinitely
day by day, more and more.
Hope to pass away,
repenting my sins,
paying my dues,
being punished
for what’ve you done.

I took a hit to fly away that day
I should of known the high wont last
Because when the crash came
Like a fast train
The dripping rain stopped
The flashing lights drined
And i passed out for 3 whole days
In a puddle of freezing rain
That was my skin
That was my brain

I woke up in a full body shake
Need another hit just to stay awake
To speed me up to keep me sane
Maybe ill at least remember my name
Or maybe this is all a game

And thats a thought
My brain can't shake
My whole life is
An endless earthquake
All my emotions are becoming fake
The high is the only taste i take
Driving me to keep up the pace

I need more to get the same effect
My mind hurts, i need a rest
Gotta stay high to keep at my best
With the crash comes
The crippling distress
Of all my thoughts
Rushing and pressed
Into my consciousness
Im out of breath
Everytime i do this
Im nearing my death

Roll up! Roll up!
Examine the corrupt,
the nose, hair, the olive of skin.
Dishonourable, alloyed blood.

Rub, Rub
I can't get it off.
grate, burn, scour,
I can only cleanse, gloss, polish.

Look! Come and see
the fresh, clean impurity.
Lay on the table,
sparkling shimmering.
We cannot control these sinful things.
To all my ancestors who were persecuted for their religion and ethnicity.
