Rise up with passion,
Rise up with joy.
Rise up with Love
That can never cloy.

Keep rising
Way beyond the stars:
Much further than Venus,
Well past Mars.

For Life is a Wonder,
Only lived once.
Don’t ever waste it,
Don’t be a dunce.

Let inspiration guide you
Way beyond this realm
From the shortest grass
To the tallest elm.

So Love all Life
Is What I Say
Be kind to everyone:
Try to make their day.

Show every mercy
Whenever you can
Respect all others
Woman or man.

Every Life is a freak of chance,
So play the music,
Begin the dance.

At the cross her station keeping,
Stood the mournful Mother weeping,
Close to Jesus to the last.
Through her heart, His sorrow sharing,
All His bitter anguish bearing,
Now at length the sword had pass'd.

Oh, how sad and sore distress'd
Was that Mother highly blest
Of the sole-begotten One!
Christ above in torment hangs;
She beneath beholds the pangs
Of her dying glorious Son.

Is there one who would not weep,
Whelm'd in miseries so deep
Christ's dear Mother to behold?
Can the human heart refrain
From partaking in her pain,
In that Mother's pain untold?

Bruis'd, derided, curs'd, defil'd,
She beheld her tender child
All with ****** scourges rent.
For the sins of His own nation,
Saw Him hang in desolation,
Till His spirit forth He sent.

O thou Mother! fount of love!
Touch my spirit from above;
Make my heart with thine accord.
Make me feel as thou hast felt;
Make my soul to glow and melt
With the love of Christ our Lord.

Holy Mother! pierce me through;
In my heart each wound renew
Of my Saviour crucified.
Let me share with thee His pain,
Who for all my sins was slain,
Who for me in torments died.

Let me mingle tears with thee,
Mourning Him who mourn'd for me,
All the days that I may live.
By the cross with thee to stay,
There with thee to weep and pray,
Is all I ask of thee to give.

****** of all virgins best,
Listen to my fond request
Let me share thy grief divine.
Let me, to my latest breath,
In my body bear the death
Of that dying Son of thine.

Wounded with His every wound,
Steep my soul till it hath swoon'd
In His very blood away.
Be to me, O ******, nigh,
Lest in flames I burn and die,
In His awful Judgment day.

Christ, when Thou shalt call me hence,
Be Thy Mother my defence,
Be Thy cross my victory.
While my body here decays,
May my soul Thy goodness praise,
Safe in Paradise with Thee.
I sang this hymn - no longer used - in when aged 6 to 12 in Holy Week when a choir boy in an orphanage run by nuns. Its origins are imprecise.

All-wise and loving
Heavenly Father,
I completely rest
In you.

Holy is Your name, exalted above all
On every ear and heart may the Good News fall.
Glory to you God, Name above all Names
For, your greatness, the earth and angels proclaim.
Every fiber sings to your majesty Lord;
Words of love and truth, from every tongue, are poured.
The rocks cry out in wonder: the very air is alive,
The very ground upon which we walk is sanctified.
We sing out your praises as they saturate the sky,
A sacrifice most pleasing to you: The Most High!

Today I visited the place we had met,
Once more I became very near you...
With my whole I was dreaming;
maybe to see you there,
or maybe to hear you...
I stepped on the ground you had walked through
and felt the places you had touched
possibly just before me.
All memories of dreamy past
clearly revived for me.
I touched the walls which imbibed your existence,
heard your healing voice and I can still hear it...
Then I rose in the elevator you had risen,
where had been left the particles of your spirit,
again the same feelings of contentment encompassed me,
even your atoms I felt all around.
They joined me and one more time I felt whole.
So, very insanely I had missed you so long...
Reminiscence of your laughter linked
the estranged parts of my brain,
in my heart began to play the divine hymn
As I was all ears, links became very clear and strong,
Your voice was like a violin accompanied by an electric guitar...
Flowing through my brain cells,
sick solos tortured all my neurons -
Bliss in tormenting despair...
I felt how my blood rushed through my veins,
how my eyes became blur and dark,
As elevator rose,
there was a feeling inside that
it was me raising it instead.
My hands became ready to embrace the life,
My fingers were ready to scratch its harsh face!
To carve your name on it!
You know, it is now very easy for me
As, once, before I have done it!
Suddenly in the background there began to play healing piano,
Of the splendid chaotic profound medley,
there was composed the melody of harmonic ascension
and I began to laugh in joyful pain.
You had always seen me when I wept without tears,
At that time I wished - when I laughed in tears you heard me.
Yes! Invincible I am becoming!
After your laughter and torments,
nothing can hurt me!
As long as to you I cling
and as long as you I adore,
Nothing can turn me from my path
or let me down anymore!

All I see is him.
Every face.
Every look.
Every tear.
Every cut.
Every clench.
Every smile.
Every laugh.
Every goof.
Every time.
All I see is him.
When I dream, I dream I see him in the sun.
When I dream darkly, I wake up and I see him on the floor dead.
When I dream, he's on the bed next to me.
When I dream, he's there and not gone.
All I know is him.
It's the silence.
It's the pain.
It's the ounce of virtue against the blackest year.
It's the body.
It's the beauty.
It's that one time he took his shirt off and looked at me.
It's the hallucinations.
It's the rocking.
It's that time I took his sadness and choked on it halfway.
All I know is him.
Say it to the baying trees.
Say it to the wind.
Say it to the open window.
Scream it into the shower.
Say it on the phone.
Say it on the documentary screen.
Scream it into the dark.
All I feel is him.
Say it to the friends.
Say it to the counsellor.
Say it to the stranger.
Screamed it at myself.
Said it to the memories.
Said it in my calling.
Say it to myself when I fall in disgrace.
All I need is him.
Looking under green lights.
Look towards hollow hills.
Looking for a reason
Just to hold back and say nothing
All I need is him.
Looking over pages.
Look to the new lover.
Looking for a cure.
Just to stop the bleeding.
All I eat is him.
I eat his sorrow.
I eat his history.
I eat his remembrance.
And devour his black blood.
All I eat is him.
I eat his confessions.
I eat his luck.
I eat his nemesis.
And devour his absent affection.
All I want is him.
All I care about is him.
All I should have is him.
All I worry about is him.
All I can't remember about is him.
All I tear myself over about is him.
All I **** is for him.
All I call is for him.
All I own is for him.
All I do is wait.
For him.

How easy to love you in the nature Lord!
In these lands clothed in Autumn's ripe gold.
All living things pulsate with the life that You breathe...
You exhale pure goodness and into nature it molds.

All the poets and artists, we never do tire,
of praising Your hand in the beauty and growth.
The evidence of You is in every breath, in every step.
Of Your artwork no man could e're boast.
G Rog Rogers Oct 2017
If all the beauty of existence
were put within a song
Would it not be
the heart of woman
for it then
to be written upon?

Then all the choirs of Heaven
would sing as one

I might then hear the beauty
of the chorus as they sing
And marvel in amazement
from the deepest darkness
of this lowest place I'm in

So never quiet
an hymn of sorrow
nor despise the tears of joy
For those who
from the darkness
yet remember how wonderful life was

Memories awaken
and hope is again reborn
At that melodious
first moment
of a woman's heartfelt song

Hers is in the singing
as life is once
more renewed
Hers is in the song
as is the Heavens
eternal truth

Yes if all the beauty
of existence
were put within a song
Would it not be
the heart of woman
for it then to be written upon?

The Trumpoet Feb 2017
Mine eyes hath seen the horror of the rise of Donald Trump.
Mine ears hath heard his vitriol he spews from on the stump.
If you believed his ramblings, he took you for a chump.
His "truth's" near always wrong.

Lordy, lordy did he fool ya?
With his con job did he school ya?
Now you'll have to let him rule ya.
Now that your chance has gone.

He swept past sixteen wannabes and claimed the G.O.P.
Surrounded now by sycophants, and yes-men who'll agree
with whatever harmful, hateful, hurtful law that he'll decree.
His ego marches on

Sorry, sorry, such an awful lesson learned.
By protest through the ballot box, the whole world has been burned.
A tyrant's come to power, with the facts and truth adjourned.
His tyranny goes on.

But I say there is hope my friend to right this wrong, you see.
Will you rise in righteous protest and recite this rhyme with me?
And let it help remind you of the past when you were free.
With hope, we shall move on!

Glory, glory when we weather this dark storm,
glory for us once again, when love becomes the norm.
When we have ousted ignorance in every evil form.
And truth goes marching on.
This poem can be sung to the tune of "The Battle Hymn of the Republic".
