Imitation is NOT
the best form of flattery
when the imitator
gets credit for the idea.

It’s an hour close enough
To the number of no return
We contact through the space
As we once did before time

A cigarette before ***
Is not what the humble mind
Would immediately jump to
Only the outsiders would assume so

A cigarette before ***
Simply means a breath of air
Before all wind is stolen
By the intimacy of a conversation

A cigarette before ***
May role off your tongue
Tarnished by a society
We constantly run from

A cigarette before ***
When the *** is climatic conversation
And the cigarette is just the breath before
To prepare yourself for the race.

My head screams ****** ****** for transgressions seemingly unending,

Erring forwarded to my hearing
Crimson vision impaired, offence is the best defence, tackling the tactic, chasing the victory, the vice of being right,

General Pyrrhus charging into battle, the right plight seems fit, only to be defeated by the victory, was it worth it?

When did this invisible limb become so important?

Doesn’t bleed, doesn’t break,
But holds the key to how we take words, our fate, decided by the prison of pride , when will you release yourself, gain victory over the protection that exposes, that sinks deep into our passions
Quotedbykayla Aug 2018
My veins- diluted with anger;

so powerful; i feel capable of doing anything destructive-

to myself more than anything else.

You see the thing is;

you see my smile everyday,

but little do you see the true emotion behind.

Behind is something much most crazier than you think,

yet inevitable to believe.

Bigger than just a phase,

certainly deeper than just personality,

much bigger than what you know and have been told.

You see-the reality is:

i'm a wreck...

understanding enough- you probably didn't even know.

I cover the other me with my jokes'

with my games,

with my smiles,

with kindness and humility,

and all those lies.

Do you think that it's crazy to not fear death,

but fear life most.

Life lives to play with lives-

we can battle it out,

you'll probably win,

after the powers whisper to pierce the blade through my skin
'we can play the game and battle it out, you'll probably win, when the pistol reaches for my mouth, and the powers whisper to pierce the blade through my skin'

Dear God I’m overcome.
I know no other way.
I’ve heard it works for some,
So finally I’ll pray.

No reason to rejoice;
I have so many needs.
So God, just hear my voice,
And please ignore my deeds.

I’ve never asked for much,
Or anything at all,
But my issues are such,
It’s You I need to call.

I pray for better health
(My back is always sore),
And if I had more wealth,
I’d probably pray more.

If you could help my son
To make the soccer team,
It would help him a ton
To realize his dream.

So what else should I seek?
I’ve never prayed before.
If I sincerely speak,
Then You just give me more?

To pray this easily…
I’m not sure what I mean…
Is prayer supposed to be
Like a vending machine?

God, forget what I said.
This prayer is not the best.
I need You in my head
To make any request.

I should not seek Your grant,
Without seeking Your grace.
The unrepentant can’t
Come to a holy place.

I think You’re there to find.
I feel I’m on my own.
So let me clear my mind
As I approach Your throne.

I want to try again
But this time not for me.
Your concern is for man.
Prayers not for “I” but “we.”

If You send the world peace,
Our needs are not a must.
Give our ego release,
And please just grant us trust.

You’ve seen this mortal man,
And things I never saw.
Whatever is Your plan,
I’m humble and in awe.

The act of prayer itself,
If prayer is to be true,
Will purify the self
To feel closer to You.

I don’t pray to save me.
If my sins You forgave,
Then I pray just to be
Worthy of being saved.
Poetic reflection on the statement of Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel, "“The primary purpose of prayer is not to make requests. The primary purpose is to praise, to sing, to chant. Because the essence of prayer is a song, and man cannot live without a song. Prayer may not save us. But prayer may make us worthy of being saved.”

Tendrils of my emotions spiral out, like a flower ready to bloom.

I have found a sense of home in
you.

Sprinkling down,
is the sweat beading upon my forehead,
increasing my neediness of your medicine.

I drink in your strength and bury my fears into your neck.

I see the confidence of your eyes and taste the genuineness of your humility.

Your skin grows within my skin as we fight to lose the shackles of our lives,
to find ourselves,
in each other's view..
You have to let love, be the loudest voice, that you hear..

I don’t always like being naked
even in my own home
but in this heat
it’s either strip or die

There are those with A/C
acting so civilized
as they turn back temperatures
concerned for their sweat

I’m wet with jealousy
but the humility grew on me
moss in a steamy environment
condensation in the same

Now the only difference
is switching two letters
Walkin' 'round in m'skivvies

Humble on a mirror
Is something you won’t find
Because humble is a virtue
That people hide inside

It wasn't enough,
she was kicked,
shackled,
broken,
and laid bare

You had nestled,
your arms around her neck,
until she could no longer breathe

Twisting her legs,
weakening her,
so she could only lie there,

As she stare into the eyes,
of her tormentor.
In this piece, lies many interpretations.
