you've put every
single thing I fear
directly in my face
i am unworthy
i am unwanted
i am alone
every single flaw
is prominent
i am vile
i am incompetent
i am stupid
each problem
is displayed
i am boring
i am sad
i am angry
individual sins
i am hateful
i am filthy
i am bitter
all my
weaknesses
i am careless
i am open
i am emotional
my blemishes
visible across
my forehead
i am pockmarked
i am paunchy
i am diseased
the limitations
i am dumb
i am pathetic
i am anxious
failures
i am incomplete
i am lost
i am done
PSA: This could very we'll be a humbling experience where you acknowledge the flaws and move on trying to better yourself or it may trigger the realization that human beings a strange creatures who will not change no matter what knowledge is placed in front of them. - either way beneficial.

I pick up words
as small daisies
on a spring field

careful to hold them
in small bunches
never as beautiful

as when first spotted
a memory of wonder
blushing as they close

around their meaning
covering the heart
shy of a truth near

enough for our dull spirit

to remember a note
or two

In the likeness of dew
One can see
A nightly gathered convex galaxy
Gazillions of translucent pearls from her majesty
Infinite food for more than just whorls
Radiance expressed from a single source.
Mother ocean, giving us, her gifts, of course.
Touched, life unfurls
Who are we to think we can improve the design of this world.

unbeknownst to this world
outsider looking in
absorbing, peculiarly
the arrogance surrounding me

oblivious to most
and easily ignored
for my skill is in books
and not in the well known

surrounded by immense talent
and the jealous meek
men that has learnt to walk
without having any feet

yet the stench of inequality
leaves a bitter taste
so easy to differentiate
the humble from the pack

more I pity the minions
wanting to be known
strip the fame and popularity
focus on them bare

will you still like the person
you've mounted in the air?

i am better than no one
no one is better than me.
i'll set the Earth on fire
then drown it.

in the sea....
My philosophy
Oskar Erikson Apr 2016
"i'm okay."
she stumbled.
Twitchy eyes never resting.
Slender fingers not made for caressing.
But no hesitation
with a grin
not quite true
she looked up and spoke.
"How're you?"

In my mind I can imagine panacea for my poison.
My bruised and ravaged body crashes up upon the shore.
Sin leaks from all these wounds, and my friends abandon ship
As I float off to forever with deaths kiss upon these lips.
And I never asked for nothing, and that's just what i got
if my pride dies before i do as I fall I might be caught.
I wasted all my days chasing things that can't be seen.
As I come into your presence, now I know what humble means.
I wrote this after reading the Parable of the prodigal son

To the quiet mind
That roams the street
Full of soul
And oh so meek

For when the noise
Of growth ensconces
Your feet remind you
That every step

Has
Lead
You
Onward.

If love is the measure of a man, then what is a man without love?
A man without love is a man without pain
A man without grief
A man without love is a man without responsibility
A man without humility
A man without love can do as he wishes, for he has not a care in the world.
If love is the measure of a man, I'd rather be unmeasurable.
Joyce Feb 2016
A tear in your eye.
By words in this life.
They can feel so humble.
Your soul so breakable.
Your love so untameable.
Sometimes my heart
can feel so brittle.
I can cry out in words.
So I can spread my wings
and fly like an eagle.
