They gave their lives for an Irish nation,
Paid the ultimate price for our freedom.
Each of them signing the Proclamation
Which would guide Ireland in the years to come.
Thomas Clarke was the first signatory
With Patrick Pearse and Seán Mac Diarmada,
Also Joseph Plunkett, James Connolly,
Éamon Ceannt, Thomas Mary Mac Donagh.
Alas these were seven of many more
Who died as we fought for independence.
Whose names should be honoured for evermore
By us, our children and our descendants.
Never should we forget their legacy;
We owe them our freedom, our liberty
A Century Ago Lest we forget

They dedicate their lives
To discovering things, being king of the hill,
So that all who notice their hypocrisy,
Their lies and deceit, their lack of principals,
Shall overlook them still, they are all about nothing
But "meat and potatoes," their means of existence,
And only pretend to be about love, honour, yet
Don't believe in the need to lose pride nor to
Go about the ways of dignity or of patience.
Provide,
Never wish to divide
The family,
They always want to see us live happily,
These are great people,
Who deserve so much respect,
In the bible,
Its only the commandment concerning them which contains a promise,so inspect
Yourself, are you honoring them as they deserve to be honoured?
Having them is a blessing,
Love them.
You came to earth through these people,I understand some parents may not be as good as expected but its probably coz they forgot how to love and bring up someone rightly due to their back grounds..you know;experiences shape us if we let them control us..let the lesson of the experience shape u,not the experience itself..

“It’s a Girl.” They said,
Destined to go to her ‘own’ home one day,
As if she is born into a strangers home.

Marriage has its own time,
Why make her birth seem like a crime?
Do give her the unconditional love but don’t consider her a bad luck.

“Who will bring forward the family name? She will bring only a shame”, they said
Destined to go to her ‘own’ home one day,
As if she is born into a strangers home.

If that were the case,
Ashamed are parents who gave birth to,
Kalpana Chawla, Asha Roy, Arundhati Battacharya and many more.

Worried about the family name?
Bring her out of the shallow box,
Filled with your narrow thoughts,
Help her reach her full potential,
Then watch the family name gain credentials.

“Do what he tells you to.” They said,
That is your house,
He is your everything.

From her, kings are born,
From her, woman is born,
Without her, there would be nobody at all,
So why then do we make her a slave?

Likes, shares, tweets and re-tweets can only do so much…
Empower your thoughts and not just the woman,
Teach your son to respect the girls,
Allow your daughters to reach their passion,
Then watch the empowerment take action.

The righteous and brave die but one death,
but what if they die for those very reasons?

As cowards stand tall in gleaming armour,
holding treacherous ****** knives in their hands.

And if you think I'm oppressed,
covering my hair with a silken headdress-

And if you think I'm forced,
beaten, to lengthen my sleeves and elongate my shorts-

And if you think I'm afraid,
cowering under the protection of black linen shade-

You 'most certainly take note of the society's improprieties,
that the abaya I wear is thrusted upon me,
that the niqab my sisters practice is only for he;

No. My hijab is my personality, my promise to honour my femininity,
to never allow anyone, any man, to use me;
I am a woman, a human, a feminist:
no man will control me.
just a setting-straight. or at least I think it is.

On my honour I will try,
To not let life slip by.
I want to find the meaning of living,
And be a little more giving.
I want to feel more of the back of a horse,
And most people would sigh a say, “Of course.”
I want all eyes to be on me,
And someone people want to be.
To live a way no one else will,
And stop and lay on a grassy hill.
I want to leave a legacy behind,
For someone else to find.
On my honour I will try,
To not let my life slip by.
Based off of the iconic Girl Guide song "On My Honour", this poem captures the hopes and dreams of a young girl of about 13.

Me: do you believe in life after death?
Me: no, but I wonder what happens when there's nothing left
Me: so what happens when you take your last breath?
Me: you decide if your high reaches depth.

Me: what about love, is it real or fake?
Me: you tell me your heart is a lake
Me: you fill it with emotion that's deemed by a state?
Me: it insist you're nothing until another's heart you take.

Me: I don't understand, are you pro life?
Me: of course there's no honour in death by the knife
Me: so what keeps you alive when pondering strife?
Me: my life, my kids and love for my wife

Me: so you say you're depressed but you seem fine to me
Me: but the face of the facts are not as clean
Me: and what makes you as positive as seems
Me: I live with depression it doesn't control me.
Vanquish* or Vanish ,
That’s what they said,
Before I embraced the valour,
Of the dead,
Silence since reigns,
These dungeons deep,
For,
I was a Gladiator,
Who chose to weep.

The Arena that chanted ,
My mighty name,
The mellow maiden,
Who whispered the same;
They are but fractions,
Of an empire lost,
For passion sparked,
At honour's cost.

Gladiators will come,
And gladiators will go,
And yet,
None will dare embrace
His fallen foe.
The crowd will cheer,
As the Cowards will roar,
While I will weep,
At my dungeon door.

Run
Love is the death of honour
pain the demise of grace
voices whisper and taunt these thoughts
plaguing my waking hours, infecting my dreams
i stand before, then toward i crawl
yet another cross-roads, another choice
run, tempts the voice in vicious spite
run and not return, someone else again, reinvent
that your worthlessness may not be found
the true face to stay hidden behind façade
flee, pretend you can be free
seductively the voices cajole without cease
to walk away from those i owe
leaving honour in the dust of broken promises
for the pain they bring is to great to bear
here people that love me in hope and grace
you are not worthy, voices sibilant, bring only pain
and i know it is all i am, consumed by hurt
a heart beating on for no purpose, absent of reason
love immolates me in corrupted, desired, fiery agony
destroying strength, abolishing honour
here grace has nothing to do but fall, fall fall
all,the while voices giggle in mocking murmur.
