For someone who is never really present,
I can always feel you here

For someone who doesn’t listen,
you always seem to hear

For someone who rarely talks,
you have an awful lot to say

For someone who never leaves,
you don’t ever really stay
For someone. For you.

It's not the length of the queue, it's the getting to the front in the end,
it's not the muddled blocks
it's the syncronicity of friends,
it's not the missed bus,
it's the one in the nick o' time,
it's not the clapperless bell,
it's the one with splendid chime.
It's not the laughter gone, or the last spilt drink,
it's the happy of the moment in the ones we sink;
it's not the toast that falls face down, it's the one that lands sunny side up,
it's not the day you lost, it's the day you won the cup.

I’ve managed to catch it
The last possible stop of the sober train that will take me away from the dark path I was trudging down
I’ve paid my last dues
Felt my last hangover
I brought my memories knowing one day they will be put on the shelf to collect dust
I will make sober memories that will be more important than any drunken night
This train is taking me places
To a brighter light
To happier healthier times
Pushing me to become the best person I can be
For everyone around me
For my son
For myself
A new light is coming
Alone
Amidst this fortress
Battle is gone
My Lightbeam
My shield

Love is so tender
Among this hell

Dreams of attaining
Immortality

Love is more than just a feeling
This Virtue is a decision

To Love or be Loved
Not a question anymore
So I leave

And bid love goodbye
For You
Evermore
Yup. :)

I don't know where you are
And frankly, I don't care
Because the air tastes so much sweeter
Without you here.

I'm here. You're here. It's a good day.
Nice idea, right?
But it doesn't always work that way.
Sometimes, the skies are gray.
And you don't have the energy
To find words to say.
Some days, people go away
And you can't help but feel betrayed.
But you know what?
We're still here. We still remember.
So it's still a good day.

Today I stand beside you to honor those we love.
The ones who made it home, the ones still fighting, and the ones called to guide us from above.
Today, when they sing the national anthem, don't be surprised if you see me cry. It represents everything that makes me proud to be semper fi.
Today, it doesn't matter where you come from.
If you're here, you're American at the core.
Today, we celebrate everything we're fighting for.
Today, we'll visit our parents, daughters and sons
And tell them their war is over
"You can finally rest in peace. It's okay. Lay down your guns."
Whether you're a soldier, seal or marine, thank you for shielding us from all the things you see that should never be seen.

In a world of pain
In a world of fear
I can't tell you how much it means
To have you here
