Children
by Michael R. Burch

There was a moment
suspended in time like a swelling drop of dew about to fall,
impendent, pregnant with possibility ...

when we might have made ...
anything,
                 anything we dreamed,
                                                          almost anything at all,
coalescing dreams into reality.

Oh, the love we might have fashioned
out of a fine mist and the nightly sparkle of the cosmos
and the rhythms of evening!

But we were young,
and what might have been is now a dark abyss of loss
and what we have left is not worth saving.

But, oh, you were lovely,
child of the wild moonlight, attendant tides and doting stars,
and for a day ...

what little we partook
of all that lay before us seemed so much,
                       and passion but a force
with which to play.

You can't force the words out,
Can't force yourself to write it out,
Shouldn't force yourself to put thoughts to words,
Tis why actions speak louder,
You don't always need to say,
You don't always have to do,
You don't always need to say sorry,
Show your thoughts with your actions,
Show your feelings through who you are.

Where there was once plenty
Lines are now full
The shelves are empty
but who are the fools?
It's all guesswork
At best
How far does the mind stretch

An invisible force is the source
Or are people the flaws
Can't quite quantify the unknown
When pushed
Have we not grown

Panic sets in
Now technically we're four
meals away from anarchy

Planets in their orbit
Each with their own moons
The pull of gravity
Guiding us
But we are in different
Galaxies
No force acting between
Me and you

And I've seen plenty of moons
Stars and galaxies
Pass me by
Pull on my path
And then leave me
And whether they leave
Space junk, darkness or
Pull me out of my orbit
It all leads to the same thing
Me losing something that was
Once familiar.

And yet to orbit,
Two bodies must have mass
And each time, I fell into their pace
Willingly.
A force requires two and yet
I...

I don't want to go back to
The familiar which left me
Not for what I have lost but
Rather what I could not find

I do still wonder whether
My weight is not enough
While I try to calculate
What forces work for
Me
And yet I also wonder
If there is a force
That will
Not crash, share light and
Balance the space-time dimensions
That surround me

be prepared for the perpetual driving force to takeover
history will repeat it self
history will take over and cycle thru this flaw
life cannot support this unacceptable future roadway
we will find a path and change it's course

I'm tired of being tired,
I want to just get up and move ahead
but this monotonous life  holding me back
with this strange force called 'tiredness'
when you're so tired and the weather is also gloomy

you shove my face
into a shallow abyss
and tell me to find
the deeper meaning

L'eau, c'est un beau milieu ; pas vrai ?
La piscine est un bel endroit pour tenter de faire le vide quand les pensées dans nos têtes nous bousculent.
Lorsque tu y entres, oh tu as quelques doux frissons qui te traversent.
