(in a thick Scottish brogue)
Reality bites,
And so do I.
This little worm on a hook, called "distraction" is wriggling wry...
Let him fill my insides!
Terrified, I now fly!
Wired to a wizards whimsical wishes
Flying fishes wondering why.
Lost it, from snowballs to fishes;
Did the point get diminished?
Illustrating imagination,
Illuminating our kingdom nation;
To the darker side.
That Joker cannot hide.
S'come down to You & I.
I'd die, to hear a reply;
Wade through the ****** tears in Your eyes... please, hold me tight!
Alone; I'll never defeat, "the other guy".

God knows, my mother tried...
But the warlocks worm...
She swallowed a juicy lie.
But, through repentance-true...
She will turn around and choose to,
Follow You.
Lord God, I'm calling You.
Please hear my cry, I am so blue.
Know I'm not trying to impress anyone,
Just looking for thee open Son.

The snowflake it takes, to deliver an avalanche, must have a similar feel for that;
Just how I feel in-fact.
The ground from which I "fell upon"
Lets loose, now I'm falling so fast and all my friends are falling too!
Are we tumbling to our doom!?

The air in the room, is vacuumed out;
No doubt your mind is frozen solid now.

With the Genjutsu shout;
Your feast is ceased and now,
Its only famine and drought.

Why all this camotion, inside our souls?

Who speaks it?  Who needs it?
Distractions, just aren't enough, and they're starting to take thier toll!

**** it.    I'm done.
Guess I'll just let the dice roll!
From mind to pen. From pen to paper. From paper to screen. From screen to dreams.

Here's the story of a girl, who's lips where red as sin. Skipping down an enchanted path, is where we will begin.

Sunshine peeks through the trees, to grandmother's house she must go. She mustn't wonder off this road, but why she doesn't know.

Something seems to follow her, she quickly spies the creature. Hidden intentions behind wicked eyes, a lesson he soon would teach her.

Innocent but not for long, she carries
shards that are her youth. Knights and princes cast aside, for twisted Fairy tales hold no truth.

You must know this story, it rings like a familiar bell. The child forced to become a women, because she saved herself from hell.

the early memories
of childhood
were grimm,

they included black eyes,
****** noses
and scars.

The mice were never
their friends
nor were they fashion designers

they lived with rasputin
who neither died nor got sick

being awoken at midnight
from your apple slumber
to yelling and thunder.

they wished for those memories
to burn
with cinder and coal
pricking their fingers
on every needle in tow.

the memories were
sound asleep
with no kiss
on hold.
a play on words.
What if the fairy tales happened today?
Would they still live
Happily Ever After?

What if Belle asked the magic mirror to show her the Beast and when it did it revealed that he wasn't there alone?

What if Jasmine found out that she wasn't the only one Aladdin was taking for a ride on his magic carpet?

What if Ariel checked Eric's phone and discovered Facebook messages which proved he wasn't over Ursula?

What if Tiana learned that Naveen was still a slimy frog, catching anything he could with his tongue?

What if Snow White wasn't the only who the Prince was Charming? Following and charming as many princesses as he could on Twitter!

What if Sleeping Beauty woke up to find Prince Philip Tindering while she slept!?

What if Mulan found out that all Li Shang really wanted was to come over for nothing more than "Netflix and Chill"!?

What if Pocahontas kept in touch with John Smith through snapchat and all he wanted were photos of her wearing nothing but the colours of the wind!?

What if Rapunzel was left in the tower because Flynn Rider wasn't bothered to climb the tower, suggested they FaceTime instead!?

What if Cinderella discovered dancing at ***** was just a one time thing? That her happily ever after was just cooking and cleaning for the Prince in a bigger castle!?

What if living Happily Ever After is as old as the fairy tales that created it!?
I love Disney and fairy tales but they haven't taught me anything about how to survive today's world!

Bippity boppity boo and they lived happily ever after
Sound familiar?
Every book, every movie - An expectation we hold on to

That all it takes is a wish on a star,
and your dreams will come true

That all you have to do is kiss a frog
and you’ll have your prince

That we could be saved
that we could be caught
every time we fall

Our happily ever after isn’t written
It is *
done

We can't expect to walk through life
without falling

Sometimes we are caught, sometimes we are picked up
But other times we rise

We rise from our fall
Not just merely blow on a dandelion
and watch mini seeds drift through the wind

or pluck out an eyelash
and let it fall delicately on the floor
Stealing our wishes with them

Lets get off the ground
full of dust and dirt
stand up
walk
and fly to the stars high above

Happily ever after is just one flight away
Learn to walk
**So that you can fly

There's a Russian fairytale of snowdrops in January
a girl meeting the twelve seasons in human form
who lead her in the middle of winter to where snowdrops grow

I never thought once that I'd live in a land where snowdrops grow in February rather than in April
& where the snowy winter has become a memory

& where in my childhood we weren't able to buy sauerkraut & pickled gherkins done the way we liked
yet which now has become more international

& where people smile & say ' sorry' to you politely
if you tread on their feet
as if their feet were the problem

& where time is measured by the Big Ben & Greenwich
instead of by the Kremlin
& it always rains in summer but there are rarely any thunderstorms

& people holiday in places like Majorca & Benidorm
if they're working class
& France, if they're middle class

& where I went to a public ( private) girls' school
& wore a red uniform
& sang the hymn ' Jerusalem'

believing in this green & pleasant land
with all my heart
until I left & came back again,

this time, an adult, a European
living through the British recession
& shocked at the newly hostile attitude to migrants

yet even now when I see those snowdrops
in February
my heart soars & I'm back living a fairytale

a child in wonder
just as before

Once Upon A Time,
There was a little girl named Me,
Who believed in fairytales
I thought they were real,
and alive within me.

Once Upon A Time,
I read the greatest fairytale of them all— The Bible!
I believed that this was the best one yet,
So i lived it like I belonged.

Once Upon A Time,
My favorite character—God,
Wrote me a letter
It went like this

Dear naive little girl,
I am warning you,
I am warning you because
I am not as great as I seem
You know me as real,
But I am far from that
I lied to you
I lied about protecting you,
loving you,
being there for you
I scared you with sins,
Only to let you know that
Only I can save you,
I am bigger than you,
I am better than you,
And if you do not believe me to be real,
I will make your life a living hell

And then I stopped reading
I stopped listening
I stopped looking for God in the tree’s
I started looking for myself
Because all along I realized
God made my life Hell
This was all just a fairytale
And fairytales are not real to me anymore

Mother oh mother,
When may I go?

Mother oh mother,
I'm locked all alone

Mother oh mother,
Why won't you unlock me?

Mother oh mother,
I'm dying inside

Mother oh mother,
When can I be free?

Mother oh mother,
You aren't my mother

Mother oh mother,
You're the witch in the tower

Witch oh witch
Why keep me here?

Witch oh witch,
Who are you really?

Witch oh witch,
I just realized--
You're me

Me oh me,
Why can't I be free?

I once believed in fairy-tales
And knew the villain would never win.
Then the fabrications tattered
And let the demons in.
I learned the villain isn't easy to beat
And that left me incomplete.
I cry in the discovery
That life can't live happily
In the famous ever after.
