If it was for me.
It could be meant to be.
There's a chance for you and me.

Asking her for a dance,
Is like counting the stars by hand.
Asking her for her hand,
Is a one-in-a-million chance.

If fairytales did exist, won't you stay and reminisce.
Counting days that we'll miss.

Some fairytales are meant to stay in our storybooks, this world unable to nurture their power.
You could have and would have been my destiny; but instead you will be the one thing that will burn at me like an open wound in the Dead Sea for eternity.
A wise man once told me, “It is always the most complex and meaningful relationships that will never work out”.
You are both my complex and my meaning, so, I guess,
that’s just that.

I used to want
To be a mermaid
To live underwater
Away from the noise
From the pain
From the sorrow
The guilt
The darkness

And now that I am drowning
In all of these things
I am once again
Dreaming of being
*A mermaid
This is dumb sorry

Fairytales builds the hope seen on children's eyes
Those stories control their minds, filling it with lies
If I learned one thing from my childhood
It is to stop believing, it doesn't cause any good

The shards of green glass scatter
About the dusty floor
Ancient messages escape
From the bottle that is no more

Whispers of tales as old as time
Start making their way across
The old man's map, their origins marked
In forests cloaked in moss.

Murmurs fill every crack in the wall
With stories from drunken lips
Of pirates, Kings, mermaids, & ghosts
And giant whales swallowing ships.

Through wallpaper peelings & under floorboards
The messages twist and turn
And as the sun rises, they head for the door
To the bottle they'll never return.

A ****** Cinderella, running shoe-less through hell.
A bargain struck, her soul the price of a paltry wedding veil.
Each night she runs her feet to stubs and always there she falls,
trying to escape her forever after, after the Devil's ball.

And so it seems here we have the princess of the sea.
A sirens call was not at all what it seemed to be.
She brought her human to his death, with but a single verse,
too young to know that that was how a mermaid broke her curse.

Do not forget the once Snow White with her now blackened heart,
Singing to her birdies as she's ripping them apart, while
skipping over the bodies of the seven worthless men,
who broke her mind and left behind what will never be whole again.

Alas, we have a sleeping beauty, now woefully awake.
Her prince did come to give a kiss, but it was his soul, that she did take.
She holds him while she cries and pleads for his life to once return,
but true loves kiss is but a wish, a life for a life is the lesson learned.

Dear Peter,
It’s been six years Peter.
I dream of you often.
Of flying into the stars.
Of looking after the boys.
Of battling evil Captain Hook.
Of arguing with Tinkerbell even.
The exciting adventures I experienced.
Growing up has been exciting.
Growing up has been painful
Growing up is lonely Peter.
I have my own house.
I miss the family everyday.
I miss the loud laughter.
I miss mother and Father.
I miss John and Michael.
The war took them away.
I know what you’re thinking.
What is this war Wendy?
War is a terrible thing.
The loud explosions and screams.
The blood in the fields.
Soldiers marching in the streets.
Enemies killing children and families.
They're bombing all the cities.
Come and save me Peter.
Take me away to Neverland.
I’m in too much pain.
I’m lonely and scared now.
I want to get away,.
Away from war and pain.
I want to be young.
Growing up is too painful.
I wish everyday for you.
But now that I’m grown.
I worry that you’ve forgotten.
Please say you haven’t forgotten.
You keep me going Peter.
The explosions always scare me.
But then I remember you.
How brave you are Peter.
I wish I was brave.
I wish I had stayed.
I love you Peter Pan.

From your own Wendy Darling.

We are the dreamers of day.
We dream about the warmth of the light,
About the flowers in bloom,
About the chances of a lifetime.

We are the dreamers of the night.
We dream about the moon,
About the stars,
About the vast night sky.

We are the ordinary dreamers.
We dream about hope,
About love,
About second chances.

We are the unordinary dreamers.
We dream about fairytales,
About castles,
About knights and princesses.

We are the dreamers.
We dream about anything and everything possible.
About anything and everything impossible.
We dream about the dreamers who still have hope
In such a broken world.
We dream about life itself.
We dream about the troubles.
We dream about the solutions.
We are the ordinary dreamers.
With just one glance
I was lost in a trance
They say your name is Lancealot
Let them stare
I don't even care
Not even their glare would bother
And who the heck is Arthur?
