i could pull the sheets
up and over my head

i could shut out the day
and hide from the light

but i can't escape the fear
i hold tight within my chest

will i always be running
in search of something better

wondering if i mistakenly
fled the best?

Running down a long hallway,
I crash into a door ,
the impending doom creeping closer with each breath
I push and shove , and even kick
but the handle doesn't budge
the danger is so close
if only I was able to unlock the door
I could escape
and be free
As it grabs hold of me
it looks me in the eyes
and swallows me up
but before i meet my fate
I catch a glimpse of the keys
which have been in my hands.

Instead of choosing wings to soar through the sky
We chose our hands, together, intertwined
We are still so fascinated by the sky
Why is simply dreaming considered such a crime?

The summer watches autumn from a distance
And I imagine what its appearance may be
Is  it full of admiration, full of love?
I realize that our future is impossible

Summer rains drizzle water droplets everywhere
Sunbeams filter through the leaves, named komorebi
So many years before you introduced your name,
Was it really you? I question to this day.

Today is once in a millennium, when gravity falls asleep
Let's stand in the sun's blind spot and leave planet earth behind
We'll aim for a place where it can't reach us, when it opens its eyes
On three, let's stamp our feet and float away from here

Let's go
Ikou
Let's go

Hearts that are frozen in winter bring the summer close
In the midst of this dizzy scene, you're the only one who slows
Since meeting you that day, my nightmares disappear
I waited tied by gravity, now let's make it real

Today is once in a millennium, when gravity falls asleep
Jumping to the sound of fireworks, let's fly out of here
We'll aim for a place where it can't reach us, when it opens its eyes
On three, let's stamp our feet and float away from here

Let's go
Ikou
Let's go

Just a bit farther beyond destiny
Just a bit after civilization (Let's go!)
Just a little bit farther beyond destiny
Just a little bit farther,
So let's go

We'll hoist these sails, filled with our dreams
Crossing the night for the day we await
Fulfil this with nothing but our hopes and fantasies
Put our arms around each other, we'll make it work somehow

It doesn't mean, we're not afraid,
but this is unstoppable
Although we tried, to save the day,
but this isn’t worth it all

Our love says, — a voice speaks,
It says to- "Just go!"
These are singable English lyrics I wrote for the OST Grand Escape from the movie Tenki no Ko "Weathering with You". The original lyrics are not mine but this version is.
art, in any form,
helps deal with what is real,
an escape to a euphoric place
a way out of the sacrilege
that we now call living.

words can't often do justice
to such a beautiful place,
for even the love songs fail
whenever we embrace.

maybe the world is darker now
than it used to before,
maybe we have now raised our voices
to speak up,
our beliefs and fears
all out there
in the open now.

the world was as pure as the canvas before,
now that we are painting it
without ever knowing
if we will finish it,
tricking ourselves into thinking
we hold the brush
and decide the strokes
we decide,
our humble abode
rather than fearing
a loss of control
the world,
it is out there
for us to feel
as it has always been
through time,
an inviolate home
for those with beauty in their eyes to see.
Today, I woke up with an appreciation of art and how it helps give meaning, make a connection and save lives.

We all have an artist within us, just a matter of the medium of expression. I'm agnostic, but sometimes I think that there is a higher sense of purpose for every one of us and it can be shared through the art.

This one is for all you artists out there; never stop creating!

blessings and curses
warlocks and muses
some of the fleeting melodies this world uses
diminishing moments
crescendoing hours
the allegro of my heartbeat, facing these encounters
the event that struck a chord
intrepid, might i add
the milquetoast that's the real you
and the ego you wish you had
JKirin Dec 2020
It is heavy—
the burden you carry.
Suffocating—
inside, you’re aching.
Will decreases—
you’re ready to shatter to pieces.

Yet, there’s fire.
Your eyes blaze with anger, desire.
Feel it burning—
all its power, deep, twisting and turning.
Let it out, then—
and escape from the weight of the burden.

If I could break out of my enclosure
Is there a moment of reprieve
From the horrors you've shielded
Me from?
Or will the skies crumble,
And the oceans drain down
To the very basin,
And will the earth break under me,
Until it knows my name?
Will your world be destroyed
When I break this enclosure?
And if so, will it still be as beautiful,
As you said?

Early morning poetry and god forbid, another person to cry over
Caage Gaber Dec 2020
Tears wash down a face.
A heart drowned infinitely.
The barrel in place.
It's right there in front of you. An escape. Do you really want to take it?
