I love you with my heart
because I see you with my soul
to love you my best friend
my only single goal,

I love your soulful eyes,
they touch me deep within,
you love me as I'm perfect,
an erase the scars from skin,

I have never been touched the way
that you have touched me love,
I feel that if there is a God
he sent you from above,

Everything you say,
just draws me in some more,
I want you every minute,
an it never seems a bore,
you know that I will love you well
an it would never seem a chore,

You understand my mind
we are so much like the same,
I know that you have worries,
yes I know it's not a game,
but to miss two stars align,
it would really be a shame,

Please down the road we go,
until we're back again,
I do hope you will say,
I'll be more than just a friend,

Because the benefits and possibilities
are infinitely beautiful and endless..

Liberate your soul
And unshackle your mind.
You'll be amazed
At the beauty you shall find.

all cards are on the table
nice concepts can get in the way
so beware the wild card
friends with benefits
if only for a second; smile or frown
the muse of whatever wont stop
flipping choices will still sway

To the boy who was never mine, but pretended to be

ive been trying to write this letter for months now
im still not sure if it should be an apology
my biggest mistake was thinking that you could fix me
only i can fix me
i shouldnt have let you all the way in
i turned you into a puppeteer
i got ******* even though we said no strings attached
i wish you didnt have to lose me to appreciate me
i hope someday you come across a picture of me watching fireworks
and you wonder how many books i have read since then
or how many times i have re-watched eternal sunshine
or if i still eat ice cream even though im lactose intolerant
or if i ever think of you
I don’t.
i want you to have sleepless nights where your eyes flicker
trying to forget images of me laughing in your passenger seat
i want your heart to ache every time some one mentions my name around you
i wanted so bad for you to fight for me, but now i am glad you didnt
you can have the watch back, time does not exist to me anymore

I cut off every string that leads back to you

she's not mad at him
she place all blame on herself
they both agreed; only friends with benefits
she can't change the way he feels about her
so why does she put herself directly
in the line of fire

even if it may sooth the urge
for just a little while
maybe she'll add an extra
splash of red or pink
to her lips enticing him
to pucker up

she doesn't want to be alone yet she knows
he is just her imaginary substitute
a fake smile, holding back her tears,
and walking away into her cave of loneliness
will the lights of love ever come on for her
or will she be sitting in the dark forever?
Kisses and secrets being shared among the shadows.
But in the morning,
we're just two naked bodies sharing an empty bed.

I **** a friend, I'm just that low.
But who cares?
We're fair.

Lovers for one night.
Strangers right after the first sunlight.
To those friends who had *** with their friends, welcome to the club.
So sad.

So much for my regrets.
New Zealand culture,
a fragility,
tainted by violence.
Colonisation.

Writers have examined,
the loss of Maori land.
Less common however,
is writing concerned with
the benefits,
accruing to white people
as a result of the acquisition
of this land.

Colonisation has provided,
Economic and social advantages,
to white people,
in contemporary New Zealand.

A hierarchy,
white Western culture,
sitting uncontested,
at its pinnacle.

The cultural capital that whiteness provides.
Unearned advantages at our disposal.
Live our lives with greater ease:
Homeownership.
Health.
Education.
The ‘Justice’ System.
Institutional privilege.
A political separation.

The white New Zealand system,
designed for whites.
To get through school,
have good health,
get jobs,
get a little justice.
If the system was designed,
for Maori people
it would not be the way it is now.

Overrepresentation of Maori,
in every
negative
New Zealand
social statistic.

The persistence of *******.
Society provides greater opportunities,
to white people,
by disadvantaging those who are not.
Unacknowledged,
debilitating, racism.

Being oblivious,
sustains a belief,
in white superiority.

While factors:
socioeconomic status, gender,
sexuality, disability,
may impact the degree to which,
individual white people,
can access privilege.
On some level,
every white person,
in New Zealand
benefits from their skin.
Maori are made fun of for being benefit users. The title is a pun given all the benefits white people get.

Also this was a found poem from the academic article White Privilege: Exploring the (in)visibility of Pakeha whiteness by Claire Frances Gray.

I miss you
everyday.
I miss the old times
where we were just friends.
We aren't friends.
Not anymore.
We had something
so special.
But you destroyed it.
You broke me,
you broke my heart,
and you definitely broke
my trust.
I can never trust you again.
