I deeply apologize
that your fingertip's burnt
as you touch mine

I deeply apologize
that you learn about pain
but I've memorized it

For I myself, don't know why
my love burns those who try
Haylin Nov 2018
I find myself locked
Between my flaws
In that I love too much
And I love too hard

There's not much I can do
Than just be apologetic
But living an apologetic life
Leads to apologetic stories

So I wish to not say sorry
For I cannot change this
My flaws are my flaws
And they are what make me

This is not an apology
Just a warning
For my love is large and strong
And I cannot stop for anyone

let’s paint an intimate word
take our body of work and
slice it to pieces
little cubes of meat
i’ll make you a home cooked meal
if you eat my vibrations
tonight everything feels medium rare
sorry for the blood
it seeps through - sometimes it just wants
to be seen

I wanted to know if you'd want a letter
If I were to leave
But I told myself it wouldn't matter;
They wouldn't care

So I stared at your name
And thought about how you'll go to school
But I won't be there

How I won't just be home, sick
I'll be found dead by my mother when she goes to wake up my siblings but asks her boyfriend to open the bathroom door instead
For the door is locked, my shoes and bag are near the front door still, and there's no response

I thought about how you'd find out about my death
If the school would be told and they'd announce it
Maybe you'd stumble upon a newspaper and see my obituary
Or maybe a part of you would just know

I reminded myself of people I love
How I'm scared of what happens after I die
And the thoughts of what hell could be like
I tried to tell myself God would understand
But nobody would care about me;
I deserve to suffer like the ******* I am

I ask myself what my final words should be
But I can't think of anything original and deep to say
So all I can say is I apologize for what I've done
And I hope you forgive me, let go, and move on to have a happy life
Feel free to share revision ideas :)

How are you doing?
I wonder each day
And just how much better off without me
Would you be likely to say
I know that since we've parted
You don't see love the same way
My apologies for the person I was
How different he is from the man of today...
I wish I could change the past
Or make it up to you, somehow, some way
And I hope your world isn't just
Varying shades of grey
I hope that you've learned to see the good again
And have managed to find your way
And more than anything
I just hope you're okay
It's been almost a year... I really do hope you are well. I'm sorry

Tis the season of Christmas music
So I decided to check on Pentatonix
Excited to see a new album out
I delve into it a month early
Whenever I hear them singing
I love and appreciate the art
But a part of me craves that one album
Because I know it'll bring me back

It was an interesting point in my life
I loved a girl who loved me and
I asked her dad for his blessing that month
Her homophobic mom invited me to their dinner
I finally felt more accepted
Even though it was super awkward
We were really happy at that point
I honestly don't know what changed
I don't regret it so much as I don't understand

But I do know that Christmastime
Has been extremely difficult ever since
We spent a few weeks at her dads house
In the middle of nowhere
We cut our own Christmas tree and
I bonded with her dad with call of duty
Our sweet kittens played together
And we got a much-needed break from school

It's hard to look back at that time
My heart hurts even though the memories are positive
I miss her a lot sometimes
Mostly because I feel as though
That relationship was unfair to her
I was emotionally unavailable
But I didn't know it
And I know she messed up too but
We both made mistakes in it all
I just sometimes wish I had had
The tools needed to address the problem

I didn't know what was happening
I didn't know what I was feeling
I knew I was unhappy and hurting
But I didn't understand why
I think what's hard about this one
Is that I can retroactively label it all
Unfortunately that doesn't actually match
All of the things that I said back then
I was cruel to her
Because I knew it'd make her let me go
And I needed to be alone and free
But I chose a twisted path to get there
And for that I'm sorry
I had this realization tonight. My best friend made a comment a week ago about how I don't celebrate Christmas, and it confused me. I didn't know why until tonight when I was listening to Christmas music that made me feel happy in anticipation of (nonreligious) Christmas activities. I realized that I didn't enjoy the holiday last year because it was the first year after my ex fiancé and I broke up and I have some amazing memories from the last Christmas we spent together. I think I repressed a lot of my positive feelings about the holiday because I still have a lot of sadness surrounding the good memories.

Could ever make up for what I did to you
Ever...

What a mistake

I am sorry for the pain I put you through
The shame you bottle deep down
Though you have only yourself to blame
For why I am no longer around

Yet I feel guilt within
Should've held on a little longer
Promised I'd never leave you a thousand times
I thought our love was stronger

I learned nothing is what it appears
Not feelings or words trusted the most
Let the illusions fall one by one
As they crash I am forced to watch up close

You do not care how it makes me feel
To be neglected again and again
And endlessly stabbed in the heart
By the one I consider my best friend

Hoping to be more than a backup plan
You are cruel and careless sometimes
Sunshine warning heart's together
I can't compete with how radiant it shines

All I desired was to light up your world
Be better like you don't deserve
Lying to myself, I claim I tried
Over and over exasperation stabs each nerve

Dissatisfied with abilities
I resent you, myself, and all I'm not
Trying harder to accept flaws
Failure masks the good traits we've got

I'm a hopeless romantic
Painted the sky a false shade of blue
This is to let you know I'm sorry
It is not all your fault, I made mistakes too
There are two sides to every story

It kinda ***** how
I'm sitting here writing a poem about how
I feel. And how
nothing ever seems right to me.

It kinda ***** how
my head is currently spinning in circles and how
my face feels tight from my dried tears.

It kinda ***** how
my inexplicable anger is taking over my body, how
it messes with my exams and social life and how
I push away the people I need the most.

It kinda ***** how
today is just never my day.

It's never my day.
i apologise to everyone I freaked at today

Of all the words I never got to say
there’s still three that haunt me to this day.
They’re plaguing my skies to turn them all to grey,
I wonder if you ever would’ve felt this way.

I’ll make this cryptic so it stretches it out real long,
less descriptive but the message still stands too strong.
But it sounds so light that it’s become a song;
You were right, you were never wrong.

Of all the feelings I still have these in my chest,
weighing down the muscle slightly above my left breast.
First I thought it a lesson but now I believe it’s a test,
to see if I can beat my head and get some rest.

Read between the line,
when I say that I’m doing fine,
and try to translate my foreign sign,
if you care enough to devote the time.

I’ll make this cryptic so it stretches it out real long,
no intent to be vindictive but the time has come along.
My fear; I’ll fight, even though I’m too headstrong,
you were right, you were never wrong.

She said to always look at the stars
especially the ones that shine so bright.
I’ll keep the memory for my reservoirs,
but the constellation was her in my sight.
You weren’t wrong, you were always right.
