Everytime I ask her, why all the act?
She just flips her hair and moves back
Only to come back and put up
Just another show of hers

She was not entirely a bad person
Just someone in a bad story
There was no good light in it,
Nor the music backed the scenes

Sometimes she tries to dance
To the songs with her swaying fingers
And occasionally,
Struggles to act up the scenes
To Bring some sense to it

And the play always fails
But she was a good actor

Because the act was so good,
So good,
That the audience thought that's who she is,
There a hopeless romantic
Here a woman with no feelings
There a trustworthy friend
Here a total wreck of a person
And on it goes

Once the show ends,
No one knows where she goes,
No one knows who's there at her home,
Or if she even has a home
No one tries
And no one did
-
what is sorry
a word?
an act?
it's just a blur to me right now
overused
no meaning
gone

like a cat
i’m waiting for my owner
in my case, more gropes.
i am vain
i regularly conjure up poetry on my skin
do not give me yours.
i will recite every word to my last paper breath
so i can kid myself that paper is power.
my hands, are a canvas
canvas for anyone's ***** thoughts and ***** details
for if enough titles are painted on my body then perhaps
i will learn the complex trick
at trick of gaining depth.
and maybe the world will look as full.
as full and real as i
attest about it
read about it
dream about it
vision about it in books,
or dance with in music,
and maybe perhaps my edges will stop being ripped;
or my corners cut
or maybe my pages will not be burned and tossed aside.
true;
sometimes, i am this tiny
sometimes, i am this entangled
sometimes, i am this bonded
vulnerable, and judged by many
but also sometimes i am full of wonder

but right now, i am this.

I see the sunrise
nature never disappoints
such a simple act

Watching beautiful things will make this year be just a bit better...

We're afraid to live.
We're afraid to die.
We're afraid to try.
We're afraid of what happens if we don't try.
We're afraid to love.
We're afraid to commit.
We're afraid people think we're full of ****.
We're afraid of the truth.
We're afraid to lie.
We're afraid people will think we're weak if they see us cry.
We're afraid to feel.
We're afraid of fear.
But knowledge is power.
So now that you know what you fear,
what are you going to do about it right now? Right here?
Zack Ripley Nov 2019
The world is so cruel to you
But your words are so kind.
How can you trust people
or be nice to them
When they've robbed you blind?
I don't trust them.
But I believe that even though words
Have incredible power,
Actions have even more power.
So when life gets me down,
I think of a phrase
I act, therefore I am.
I act happy, therefore I am happy.
Yes, I'm still wearing a mask,
But if you say something enough,
you start to believe it.
I don't fully believe it yet myself.
But I want to get better
So I'm up to the task.
Are you?
Yeah...doesn't rhyme completely but important message nonetheless

I might seem a little rough, Sometimes I act too tough
Well it ain't nothing personal, Just trying to stock my arsenal
I might cuss and fight to much, But I make sure I'm standing there by brunch
This old path I've been going down, Just isn't the same when you're in another town
I wish that I could call, Every time I seem to fall
Is it you or the phone, tell me do you feel alone
Because I wish that I could call you, tell you I miss you, Where it all mess up, cause you took all my luck,
Yeah I wish that I could call you...
I might seem a little rough, Sometimes I act too tough
It's just a face I know, Please don't stop just say go
Ever since I took this fall, Just waiting on you to call

Now is the time to act out
Secrets among our reality will not be left alone
False attempts continue to bring itself into our lives daily
Now is the time to act out....
