I look to my left,
I see envy.
I see hate.
I see greed.

I look to my right,
I see hunger.
I see heartache.
I see death.

I look down,
I see lust.
I see pain.
I see sickness.

I look up.
I see love.
I see hope.
I see peace.

I guess it has to rain
For flowers to grow.
I guess the more you are insane,
more of yourself you'll know.

I guess we must know how to cry
To recall happiness when it's gone.
I guess our love had to die,
So that my heart can live on.
But love is a cycle,
an end creates a beginning.

Why does the wind howl so loudly
Why can't the moon talk back
To the lonely souls with tear stained faces
Why aren't the love letters in vintage stationary with ironic stamps and coffee stains returned
Why are novels abandoned and potted plants left unwatered?
Loneliness is universal, and the universe is a hell of a lonely place.

The simplest of my desires,
an ailment for these wounds;
They avoid me like the stars
were just fleeing from the moon.
Time has no mercy,
so precise in his plan,
because now was the then
when then slipped through a strand.
A novel of thoughts,
but no language for the pen.
Sinking skin and brittle bones,
when soul so lonesome spent.
The blood of every battle
spills the same as the last.
Buried with every loss
to relinquish the past.
Eaten by desire,
for a kiss on these wounds.
Hold me like the stars
stay aside the moon.

Irate Watcher
From birth
he fed on her snow
her sun,
her sweat,
her tears,
her ancient years.

he swam between
her skinny ways,
shrouded in seaweed
in shallows he stole
her plankton.

slick and spiny
he preyed,
electric
he shocked,
and shadowed
her moonlight thunder.

poked his head
in her crevices,
rode in her waves,
and stirred her current.

But he was in her,
like the snow.
And despite his bad manners,
she preferred him inside her
than to be stuck on the sand,
in another's land.

Winter Silk
The fire slowly died out in the cool, gentle ocean breeze.
It was a time that was deep into the night, the light bulbs have long been inactive, the tents stood like shaking, young trees in the wind, and the people inside them were happily locked into a deep sleep.
I shifted slightly in my sleeping bag, casting my gaze towards the heavens as I basked in illuminating starlight.
The moon had hidden itself that night, allowing me to see the sky in its true colors. I let out a breath formed of great contentment and pure amazement as I marveled at the splashes of red mixed with faint greens that were highlights of the blue and black canvas above me.
I smiled as a temporarily remembered my conviction for sleeping outside of a tent that night, because as I lay down in that pristine, sandy beach, I felt every care and trouble spill from my heart and into the sand, falling through the grains and going farther and farther away from me.
At that moment, I was nothing more than a wandering sailor on a sleeping bag galleon, exploring an ocean of stars in a realm of peaceful loneliness, where only the astral bodies lit my way.
Still, something was weighing me down.
Even when I was so far away, and so alone, I felt you beside me.
Even when I was king of the stars,
I was still a peasant without the queen of space.
Found this in one of my old journals.
I took the time and liberation to type it down, because the words and descriptions seemed pretty enough to be here.
Also, she was the "queen of space" because she always seemed so far from me and so close to me at the same time. Yes, she defies space on a regular basis.
TL;DR You can be alone, lost in your own world, but love will always find you.

The moon makes its way to pass,

piercing the invasive darkness

and reflects their murky embraces

on the trail his leaving traces.

Nothingness surrounds the silence,

daylight was removed with violence …

She tries to connect the dots

in the pendancy of her thoughts:

“I’m here waiting for a sign,

drinking from the sunset’s wine.

And even though there’s much pain,

in a distant dream, I’ll love you again.

Your every movement had an aim,

and all rules belonged to your game,

which couldn’t make it to the dawn,

’cause the king was just a pawn. “

Shadows fill her empty heart,

her inner soul’s been torn apart,

’cause he had just opened that door

to come and steal what he looked for.

“Now that daylights dissappear,

How far can I move from here,

as I can’t follow the light beam,

caught up in a distant dream … “

The moon got trapped in night’s fever

and took off her armor of silver,

which is glowing, with a slight shiver,

flowing down along the river.

Her grudge too, seems to surrender,

being ravaged by its splendor …

“I need you here… next to me …

The dawn is rising, come and see …”

Tell me the story
of when the earth stood
still
long enough for you
to remember
how warm her smile was,

how beautiful her eyes were,

how she was the sun.

Tell me the story
of when the moon
swept her away
into the oceans

because she was the pull from
the moon to the earth.

Tell me the story
of when,
on that fateful day,
you realized

she was inevitability.

love; something everyone wants
but no one knows what it looks like.

#life; something everyone has
but no one knows how to use it.

#sad
  #depression
    #pain
#death; for when poets get ‘the feels’

      #heartbreak #you #him #her #heart
Poets who fall in love fast with the
       Same reckless abandon that made
You climb all the way to the top.
Those scars used to make you cry
       Now they make you write.

My throat hurts
from screaming silently
in crowded rooms,
and my face aches
from smiling
far too much.
But still
nobody hears
and still
people ask
"Why the long face?",
even though
I made extra sure
to laugh
at all the right moments.
How do I explain
that my heart
feels like it's trapped in a vice,
that my eyes are so very tired
from constantly blinking back oceans?
I can't.
One more smile,
that almost makes my cheeks
crack,
and an
"I'm fine"
will do
instead.

“Your laugh
Is the second best
Sound I've ever heard.”
“What's the first?”
“Hearing you say
You love me, too.”
