Feel
Sabrina Apr 2015
You open your eyes
to look
you do not see
you look

You open your mouth
to talk
you do not speak
you talk

You use your ears
to hear
you do not listen
you hear

Love's Most Dangerous Thief
Sabrina Mar 2015
I sit here
and think of you
if I were near
what would we do

    Laugh a bit
     push and shove
      throw a fit
       then make up

           I watched you leave
              and gave a smile
                 I could breathe
                   just for a while

                       I'd see you soon
                          but till that day
                             I would swoon
                               I wish you'd stay

                                                        But you must leave
                                                               for now I know
                                                                        you are a thief
                                                                                a secret foe

                                                                             You stole my heart
                                                                          within a second
                                                                       we must part
                                                               I've learnt my lesson

If I let myself love you
                                      I fear I won't be strong
you're in my mind, stuck like glue
                       our love cannot prolong
Just a silly poem written about a silly boy.

Contemplation
Sabrina Mar 2015
There are so many things
that we would throw away
if we were not afraid
that others might pick them up.
Sabrina Mar 2015
My dear boy, the people who love only once in their lives are the really shallow people. What they call their loyalty, and their fidelity, I call either lethargy of a custom or their lack of imagination. Faithfulness is to the emotional life what consistency is to the life of the intellect- simply a confession of failure.

A great poet, a really great poet, is the most unpoetical of all creatures. But inferior poets are absolutely fascinating. The worse their rhymes are, the more picturesque they look.

Forest Frenzy
Sabrina Mar 2015
As I walk through the forest

It is almost as if it smiles
It offers wondrous adventure for miles

There are flecks of life all around
Birds chirp and leaves fall down

The forest remains vast and unexplored
Only waiting for you to come forward

Fall Fellow
Sabrina Mar 2015
The autumn leaves begin to fade
Turning into brilliant new shades
Green, red, orange, yellow
A surplus of choices for a Fall fellow
Then comes the crisp air
Bringing the season's news to share
The leaves start to fall
Bringing not an end, but a beginning for all
Autumn's adventures are coming to a close
But not permanently, it's just a doze

Rose
Sabrina Dec 2014
You reminded me so much of a rose
Such elegance did you pose
Beautiful, lush, and full of surprise
How I wish I had known about your demise
Don't be silly, not that of thine
But the one you had in mind
For me, of course, what were you thinking
Now I am the ship that's slowly sinking
Time has passed, and now I'm gone
You sit there quietly, oh-so fond
and then that's when it came
Swift and sudden as the rain
The vicious guilt of what you had done
and now it's you that has to run
No matter how far or fast you go
You will never escape your vengeful foe
A wilted rose you have become
Did you picture me so dumb
I've come back to haunt you from the grave
Do you have what it takes to stand tall and brave
The answer is no
So far away you shall go
The life of a rose is not forever
or were you too busy to remember
Your time has finally come to an end
Now you make the perpetual descent
Into the confinement where you belong
Without a soul to accompany you along
Your story was a great one, but sad to be told
And there it sits sullenly for time to behold

Smoke and Mirrors
Sabrina Dec 2014
Tick Tock
says the clock
Falls the rain
of her pain

Soaked in red
All upon her bed
Trickling onto the floor
Mercilessly spreading the gore

Written with a pen
and sealed with a kiss
oh, look, here's a plot twist

The pen is a razor
and the canvas is her wrist
Her eyes start to close
as she fades into the mist

My Favorite Sin
Sabrina Dec 2014
Attracted to you like a flame to a wick
Unknowingly mesmerized by your incandescence
Your impeccable beauty made me sick
But your attention like personal antidepressants

I felt to special when you looked at me that way
Completely blinded by all your flirting
You made it seem like you were gonna stay
Now that thought is disconcerting

You blew me away like smoke from a candle
Acted as if I hadn't mattered
You said I was too much to handle
And now it's my heart that lay shattered

You knew the connection was there
However ephemeral our love may have been
You freaked out, left, and that wasn't fair
But by far you'll always be my favorite sin

Arsenic Love
Sabrina Nov 2014
Sleepless nights
and tender touches
truly provide unique perspective
for all to come
and all that's gone

                                   Broken pencils
                                   and crumbled papers
                                   are merely a lead
                                   for dried up tears
                                   and ****** knees

Mistake or blessing
a hidden disguise
a rush of heat
a secret demise

                                 For all that is given
                                 a fracture of the heart
                                 that is the price
                                 if we must part

Epilogue
Sabrina Nov 2014
I watch the fluorescent flash of the open sign
as I contemplate the meaning of life
Rain starts to pelt down harshly on the windshield
washing away the sign in a colorful stream
Though all else seems to be against it
it continues to flash
I silently will it to pull through
Then the flashing stops as abruptly as it began
I am almost offended
It offered no fight for survival, no retort

The slam of the car door
and the greasy smell of gas station food
bring me back to the present

My brother offers the dampened brown paper bag towards me
I take it reluctantly, suddenly at loss for appetite
The ancient truck manages to roar to life yet again

My eyes relentlessly follow the sign
as we pull out of the parking lot
searching for a sign of hope, anything.

As if some higher power had been listening to my innermost thoughts
the sign flickers once or twice more before taking its final breath

Midnight
Sabrina Nov 2014
Faint silhouettes beckon you closer
silently whispering your name

Your unwavering feet bring you further
engulfing you in ominous shadows

The air dense with movement
yet all else seems utterly still

Malicious laughter slithers around you
questioning your deadly steps

You turn to run
yet find no escape

You try to yell
yet find no voice

You go to live
yet find no life

A Day With the Pack
Sabrina Nov 2014
I run through the woods alongside my sisters
as the cool wind blows and whistles
The soft earth greets my paws
I relax and retract my claws
For it is just a run
so let's have some fun
We let our heads hang back and howls run free
We run and run beyond the trees

The Calm Before the Storm
Sabrina Nov 2014
I walk outside and the harsh winds greet me
The combustible clouds are eager to meet me
Tears trickle gently from the sky
Pleading with silent cries
The leaves fall from the trees
Swaying and swooshing like the seas
The sky starts to yellow
Oh, how I am a silly fellow
For this is the calm before the storm

Mountain Whispers
Sabrina Nov 2014
The sinuous road adorned by sunlight
Twisting on forevermore
Intuitive signs interspersed
Called upon by nature's glory
Wooden arches crisp with Autumn
Casting shady protection from all beyond
The air light and teasing
Drawing curiosity without haste
and with a bump all is given
Rewarded with a glistening Eden
To my dismay it's not forever
All the life fading away
To be replaced with roaring metal
and endless mounds of concrete grey
But this is not the end you seek
Yet a promised adventure for another day

Hollows of the Heart
Sabrina Nov 2014
I flip page after page

searching for an end to humanity's idiocy

yet this is not a story of brevity

I gaze upon the intricate ink of the yellowing pages

My mind sets into a seemingly perpetual haze

preventing me from truly absorbing the words

I give a silent thank you

For I do not know how I would react

to all of this confounding insanity

I close the book and caress its leather skin

I inhale the ancient smell it offers

A muddled grin crawls across my face

I  feel it spreading through every vessel in my body

The haze has removed itself from my being

A piercing clarity penetrates my soul

Ah, it has finally come

The gates have been opened

The madness flows freely

The End
Sabrina Nov 2014
Misunderstanding is everywhere I look
My entire life is starting to feel like a book
Not a book that has just begun
But a book that is well overdone
I ponder what holds for me in the next chapter
Certainly not a happily ever after
Oh, but look there's a twist
Something so easily missed
For my life is not a book
It is a sharp ***** hook
A hook plunged deep in my soul
Reeling me out for what life beholds
I am not ready to be on my own
I do not trust myself to be all alone
And what happens when you run out of line for your hook
It's the end of your story, the end of your book

— The End —
