maybe if I’m not alive
maybe then you’ll leave me alone
I just wanted kindness
Sorry

blue suits you
like a deep twilight night
when the moon hangs low but bright
tempting you
to do all those things you might
if you were someone new
someone meant to be blue

heavy breathing

when you
speak
my soul
shakes
your voice
trails
on my skin like
fingertips
and as the hours
tick
the earth
quakes
filled with words we only
think
somewhere the barrier
breaks

open water

you kissed me at CODA
and I remembered who I was -
when the world was my ocean,
before they put me in a tank -
my soul was parched for open water
so you grabbed my face and
we dove down deep below
and in the deepest parts of the sea
we've found what we already know

I believe you
now
when you say that you love me
and
I hope that I am not wrong
because
this is not a dream
but
even if it was
you
are something I can't wake up from

Failure slithered behind his tasty treat,
grinning silently in delight.
but the sweeping paw of Fate
had different plans tonight.
Failure whispered with a forked tongue,
I only come to play!
it was then that hunter became the hunted,
Her shadow looming in his way.
he'd mistaken a pawn for a rook -
in the dark he saw it clearly -
and when She roared, the earth shook.

are you a ghost?
mermaidinCLE Feb 2018
Sometimes -
it feels like
something overpowers me
I'm not alone in here -
in this room.
in this body.
I don't know where you are
but
you're touching me
and
breath is like a galestorm
and
I can't feel my legs
(do I have fins?)
Dive deeper, rocky shores.

Undertow
mermaidinCLE Jan 2018
Where do you go?
My soul shivers when I think -
The wind blows different when the moon is low.
Like the ocean,
Long blue waves sparkle under the heat of your sun.
But cold bones shine, waxing in the dead night's glow.
Except -
Underneath the surface, there's a lot that you don't know.
Undefined.
Do you water tall grass just to watch it grow,
Out of control?
Undeniable -
You'll always be a galestorm over a tugboat.
Sometimes I wish my fins were real,
So I could finally sing the way my heart sounds
So you'd finally know what if feels like
To be trapped in your undertow.
