A dog fought for its life in the desert just Forty-Seven miles north of the nearest towns borders. The dog struggled to move, to even lift a paw so he could get up and get back home, back to Civilization. He didn't know why his owners abandoned him, perhaps it was a mistake? Perhaps it was a new game? This wasn't very fun for a game. The dog was hungry, thirsty, and tired, he ached all over. As the dog trudged on, his once white coat now a ***** and ****** tan, white, and crimson, he ignored the pain and thought only of home. Slowly Forty-Seven miles became Forty-Six, Forty, Thirty-Eight, Thirty-Two, Twenty-Nine, Twenty-Three, Ten, and then Eight. As he walked he didn't take notice of the sun slowly starting to dip behind the hills of sand off to his left, nor the reptiles that scattered from him as he passed by. He continued walking, even as the moon rose he continued heading home. He didn't notice when he stumbled and fell over, his eyes had already shut, his breath had already ceased, his heart slowly coming to a stop. He once had a loving family and home, but thanks to his ex-owners, he was now in a desert, and now dead. His last thought as he died, "Where is Master? Where is my Home?"
Not a poem, just a short story I wrote a couple weeks back. Might do more depending on how this one goes. If requested i'll put more up, but if it isn't too popular i'll just stick to poems.

The roses aren't as pretty
The sun isn't quite as high
The birds don't sing as sweet of a lullaby
The stars are a little bit faded
The clouds are just a little more gray
And it feels like things won't ever be the same

Heaven got another angel the night you left this world behind
Heaven got a little better the day that it took you away from me
I'm missing you tonight
I'll see you again sometime
For now, I'll close my eyes
And dream of heaven tonight

The beaches aren't as lovely
The sky isn't quite as blue
Still, they're sweetened by the memory of you
The rain is a little bit colder
The fire is never quite as warm
Still, it seems that heaven isn't all that far

Heaven got another angel the night you left this world behind
Heaven got a little better the day that it took you away from me
I'm missing you tonight
I'll see you again sometime
For now, I'll close my eyes
And dream of heaven tonight

I'm spending a little more time now with the things that mean a little bit more
I'm noticing the wonders of this world
I love with a little more hope now
I live with a little more peace
Cause I understand how precious life can be

Heaven got another angel the night you left this world behind
Heaven got a little better the day that it took you away from me
I'm missing you tonight
I'll see you again sometime
For now, I'll close my eyes
And dream of Heaven tonight
This song I found on Youtube a while ago. I cry every time I hear this song. Gordon True's voice is mesmerizing and beautiful. This song is about a man who lost a loved one. He says that nothing will ever be the same on Earth, but Heaven got another Angel that day. He misses her, but he knows that he will see her soon. So for now, he will close his eyes and dream of heaven. Later he realizes, the world is still beautiful. He is filled with hope and peace. He now understands how precious life is.

I recited this piece a few years ago for a speech competition. Everybody in the room was in tears. Everybody has loved people who have passed on, but knowing you will see them again makes everything better. during my performance, I thought of my loved ones, and I started crying in the middle of my performance, but I finished with my head held high and mind filled with wonder. I also finished with a perfect score, but the score did not matter much to me.

you're a melancholic blue rock
who's oblivious to what you're parallel of

just a slight erosion I noticed,
as I picked up
the little crumbles
the gem stones
the tears

crystallizing under crushing pressure;
I know it's aching,
some time to tether
you're (spontaneously) combusting
but you're still as dainty as a feather

don't have to look at your reflection,
just your shadows
then you'll see you're illuminating
and now you know
you're more than enough
you were just
a diamond in the rough.

When you pick Forget Me Not,
See my face instead of the flower,
And know that I think of you too.

When you walk among the Dead,
Remember the good times we had,
And know that I walk with you too.

When you place the flowers at my Grave,
And Weep,
I Will be there Weeping with you too.

Even though in the Earth I lay,
I'll make sure that,
When it's your time to go,
In a place that you'll remember, I'll stay.

For as long as I remember you,
Try to Forget Me Not.
Got thinking about stuff, and made this in class.

For those who care to Listen,
For those who care to Know,
We've all seen tears Glisten,
We've even seen them Glow.

When Family begins to break Down,
When they begin to Fight,
It's in words we Drown,
Even if we say them in Fright.

I cannot stress this More,
I don't know How,
But when these fights happen one leaves through the Door,
These things still happen - even Now.

We can only sit and Wait,
Hope and Pray,
that the following morn - they are still Husband and Mate,
And that it lasts throughout the Day.

I can't tell you if they'll still love each-other
I can't tell you if they'll still want to be Together.
I'm not a future teller, so I can't know how things will turn Out.

But when you see your parents Fight.
All you can do is hope and Pray,
that by the next Day,

They're still here to Stay.
