"trendsetter" poems
Can you feel all the suffering, can you see it?
Stop embracing the hate of your own humanity, just quit it
Why all the hypocrisy?
Challenge your democracy
Aim for enlightenment
Fight against all ill torment
Oppression, alienation, inequality
The government's manipulative utilities
Explore your human aptitude
Your mind and your magnitude
Because passion is power and
You can make all evil cower
Work to open your third eye
Don't cry or comply, but rather ask "why?"
Empathy and compassion are most important
Without them, moral principles remain impotent
Our world is nothing compared to the entire universe
We are so small, egoistic, and it's getting worse
Focused on all of the wrongs ideals
Creating terrible and false ordeals
Our world is cruel and mean
Too many people die hungry
There's no such thing as equality or true justice
It does not exist in this realm of consciousness
If only we could shift the system and our ways
Then things would continue to fall into place
But change is virtually unachievable
Especially when entities with just intents are inconceivable
Human beings are clueless, trapped in a trance
Don't let yourself fall victim to your ignorance
You need to expand your knowledge and your perspective
Aim to be more pensive and introspective
Challenge absolutely everything you are told
Form your own beliefs, don't let your mind be controlled
Remove yourself from conformity and complacency
And you'll realize a multitude of problems, that I guarantee
*You can't trust anything
Hear what I'm saying
No you cant trust anything
Believing is damaging
Creating is everything, it's promising
Stop adhering to societal norms
Why do you conform
To all that
The government tells us
All that society spells for us
Why don't you realize
Wake up from all the lies
The world is an intricate place, that you can't replace
But you can change your ways and your pace
Create some displacement in the system
Stand up your rights
And what you believe in
Be genuine
Imagine
Not one person, thing, or system
Can tell us, control us, conform us*
With enough minds open and motivated
We can help those oppressed and alienated
We can change this race for the better
Let's all work to be that kind of trendsetter
Come on, let's start a movement
So we can see some real improvement
In our world, our ways, and our wisdom
But most importantly in the system

I'm doing a great job, you say?
Let me try to blow your mind some more
I got the wooden logs, do you have the s'mores?
I'll say what i can do better
At this camp fire
It will be like a rite of passage for hire
But you already know, and that's what makes it better
The exact way to be a trendsetter
A human go-getter
That's how i roll, the rocks might get annoyed though.

There are always ways to improve,
Who you really are.
You don't have to always be the same,
To shine just like a star.
You can reinvent yourself,
In more ways than one.
But the changes you are making,
Will never be done.
Your personally changes,
Each day that you grow older.
As long as you try your best,
You can destroy your problems like a bolder.
So try and reinvent yourself,
And change yourself for the better.
It will help you find yourself along the way.
And you can be your own trendsetter.

I was that kid that could die in an instant
Before I wore the life vest and my heart was no longer love resistant
I was slowly drifting away while the clock was ticking
I was just lost in the time in a rolex dream because my mind was sickened
I was the kid that should've died rather than stay alive
After all my hopes and dreams were erased like a hard drive
I was the kid sitting hopeless in a black and white world
They told me "It was you" "You're my friend" lies I've heard from 2 girls
But today I am a confident young Bahamian man
I let my will burn and my desire grow as much as I can
I am the one who will help to change the world for the better
I don't follow know one but God *** i'm gonna be a trendsetter
I used to do nothing like Fetty Wap's left eye
But that was when I thought it was time to say goodbye
I am that strong individual working through God like Peter
I am the one who would do anything for those I love I would run my tank over the meter
My life was the epitome of depression and disappointment and I didn't know why
But when the times get tough you just have to ask God Who Am I?

I always wondered what it would be like if,
suddenly,
one of those "famous internet people"
would start liking me,
hitting each and every one of my posts
with one of their virtual emoji reactions,
sharing my words
and my soul
all over their sordid walls,
making me trendy and clickable,
part of the same pretentious content
that they're always displaying.
Will I feel sick
(like I do every time I read what they're sayin' in their trendsetter social media universe)
or will I feel proud?
Will I think that is a terrible waste of good procrastination or will I smile?
Will I roll my eyes,
after looking at their "common garbage"
or will I take a deep smell of the "beautiful bit flower that they seeded in their garden"?
Will I ever find out?
Will I have the will?

I can't tell you how sick I am of the mean and snarky comments going on here,
Why does it even happen when we all have the same fear?
Being mistreated for who we are
In our minds possibly having a scar
That no one knows about but we all keep hidden.
Joke like all of our bad emotions aren't there, so hopefully they will soon be ridden.
Why make people suffer for us?
When we have people here to talk, to discuss.
We hurt people to make us feel better?
What are you trying to do, become a trendsetter?
Sorry to break it to you, but it doesn't work like that.
Calling that girl you see over there fat,
What kind of person are you being?
A mean
Rude
And Ignorant
Human being.
Be accepting of anyone here
Because they might share the same fear
Bullying and name calling needs to stop
Without it, you might actually wind up on top
Become friends with someone who sits by themselves,
Because no one wants them, so they are stored on the very top of an empty book shelf.
Check that book out of the library to make it feel better,
Because then, you are becoming the right trendsetter.

One for the proactive, that never look back,
On the ticking time bomb that remains in their past.
If you join me on a brisk walk down memory lane,
Be expecting a sprint with hurdles and pain.
Life’s a masala, like a bowl of *** pourri,
Do you have Bernard’s watch, or a cup of tea you can pour me?
The bittersweet taste makes everything better..
Watch me paint my face - the ultimate trendsetter,
While I dance around the truth and shake around the fear,
That’s been shadowing me now for a good 20 years.
It started with a breath and ended with a scream,
As many lives unravelled in silence and bad dreams.
So many scenes forgotten, rejected and deleted,
As my young mind drowned but refused to be defeated.
Defaced and defiled, no attempt to be reconciled,
No retribution resonates with the word **********
One person to blame, one person Scot free,
One person rewarded immunity.
But would the penultimate moment when intervention intervenes,
Cause combustible chaos awaiting to be seen?
So read my tangle of nonsense words scribbled in scratchy black pen,
As I’ll never be able to colour out of the lines again.
Every ounce of innocence and youth has already been depleted,
Let us mourn a life-post, never to be repeated...

The circling earth changing day
Humans wake to run their way
Survival is the game many play
Most doth run for society's say
Race as we rats to cheese
Wealth and fortune to increase
Striving humans gathering disease
Till the pumping heart cease
From a house small to big and better
Worldly praise as a go getter
Belonged to society trendsetter
Wealth in number and letter
A child in a gutter worried later
The beggar in streets society's hater
The race we run corporates wallet fatter
The failed never doth matter
One moment to stand still
Look to the world heart fill
A race we run to climb society's hill
Things thy soul hath to ****
Endless bills peace lost
Sleepless nights the cost
Destiny grim in dark frost
The original dream thou hath lost
One moment do stop please
Talk to a friend at ease
Live not for others to please
Feel thy heart a true wealth to increase
Just one moment please

You put forth and claim you loved me;
And with a murmur
who purrs like my cat
Kindly as sundown to nightfall myself
in such manner—
O' dazzling days o ' ember
Ye, sayeth now you love but
then thine gloaming lips
You say you are at blitheness
Although mired than silhouetted
by pouting kisses
But you say,
You love me
While midst sublime to yours
Beguiling passions, abets
Breathtaking verses,
sweats out of me
I'd love for you to open up
A Fire-burning ardent desires
My God, can you hear me whispering
My amazing Lord!
Please give me my soul mate
to cuddle
and ******
Ahhs of snuggles
Don't let me go this thine nuzzles !
I wanna be entwined unto the shadows
Of blamelessness..
I will fly to you,
so please put a halt for me
But only one thing I doubted about,
Herein hearty Eros of God's love
wherein this immortality is made of,
And die in it,
Yet cherishes was in my
Brain trust, thinking, sweetly,
Oh come to me in my dreams
Whist starring beams
with schisms
Thy butterfly kiss
Thou renew though begotten vow soonest
We can't win 'em all as best
behaviors chronic, in stills
Thou when dost wakes up
As much-needed hopes
our love into the deepest
enchantments of all essence
Oh me, inquesting questions,
Sowith love never-ending failures
Ne'erland of promised lands
Shying away lessons - learned amass
let alone revisiting sadness,
at hand
Oh dear Thee, behold, love me truly!
Once more, wish you could be here
so no more storms to adhere
More so thy moment of September
deemed Saint Cupid's calls for
Quasi-sweeter
Lest my mindset a trendsetter
Let alone sustainable care
You utter
and care
For a favor
In return I can't take it back
But go ahead, come on rays of light
Tough 'love' and found 'lust'
we gonna kiss the disturbed dust
In silence when we must
Unselfishness thoroughfares
and I can't help it but be just..
Oh com'on love me with all thine heart!

I know this girl named Ana
She whispers sweet things in my ear.
Sweet lies
She tells me to cut ties
That she's the only friend I need
She always gave great advice.
She was there for me.
She helped me look better.
She was my trendsetter.
I love this girl named Ana
She was so meek
She wasn't a geek,
She was tall, skinny, beautiful
but soon later she's changed
If I try to eat something sweet
she yells at me
digs her claws into me
She tells me "NO! Don't eat
that you'll get fat."
I listened to what she told me
She never wronged me before.
It's been awhile
I look different
My clothes no longer fit the same.
Is that bone I see?
What a shame,
I wish this were all just a sick game.
She tells me all the time,
"You're fat don't eat that."
"You are worthless"
"Why did I ever try to make you pretty"
She made me feel ******
I told her to stop,
I don't want her advice anymore.
This girl named Ana
she hates me
I try to tell her to stop
But now she's on top
I can't eat anymore
I don't have an appetite
Nothing feels right...
I hate this girl named Ana
She'll hurt you too
She'll be stuck with you like glue,
You can't break free.
She will be the demon in your head.
The day Ana left
Is the day I died.
I can no longer hide,
I am now in a grave
because I couldn't be brave.

I told her to back up,
to back up to my parted lips
& she said
she only wanted to go forward,
yet, she knew better.
Always the trendsetter,
she giggled
in her ecstacy
& mine.

We do not forget!
We do not respect,
We are killers and we love to neglect.
Fools who fool around and do not regret.
Vendetta, trendsetter, miss leads to **** better.
We don't forget,
So remember us as Vendetta.
Understanding what we do and every day we stay fit and get better.
Danger is our name,
Blood and broken bones our game.
We don't stand out but behind you like a shadow, feeding on pain.
Waiting for the right time to slit throats and burst veins.
Vendettas is a treat,
It's real, so we don't forget!
We do not respect.
We are killers and dislike miss steps
Fools who fool around and do not regret.

my thoughts are a million
cutting through like blood stained vermilion
i’m feeling so brilliant
the cards are dealt, the rest i’m just filling in
and i see the sun again
burns my eyes and now i feel one again
i’ve won the prize, thank you ladies and gentlemen
brought me so high with your sweet sentiment
cos surely i’m better than
these lazy lowlifes lost in the labyrinth
crawling blind down places you’ve never been
dancing in darkness, it never ends
i’ve got the better friends
i’ve got the love, got places to settle in
i’ve got the fire in the furnace to burn the men
i’ve got the sword and i’m earnest to fight again
with my brand new eyes i can see, see?
yeah i see it better
i change the weather
i change the narrative with each **** letter
i change forever
i change my fate, we are birds of a feather
i back down never
i back myself, yes i am the trendsetter

I wish I could write better poems,
The kind that everybody could enjoy, not necessarily relate to.
I write poems about the explosion of emotions,
The kind where words left and right are skewed.
I wish I could be a trendsetter,
But most days I can't even get up from bed.
I cry into my hole-filled sweater
And continue to view nothing but dread.
I wish I could feel feelings the way people do,
But I find it hard at times.
I wish I was normal and could get through
But all I have are my rhymes.

Salute to the woman who knows who she is
And why she is who she is
A powerful being
Once thrown into a deep end of the ocean
But swam her way back to shore
She never stops moving forward
Nothing can ever pull her backwards
Such a brave warrior
Shout out to the Superwoman
Determined to change the status quo
Because she feels the need to do so
Just like an eagle
She soars higher and higher
As the wind blows stronger
She does not let anything deter her
From reaching another level in life
Thumbs up to an amazing woman
A great force to be reckoned with
That committed Mother on the street
Who trades from sunrise to sunset
Trying to make ends meet
Oh, she has a heart so big!
Being mindful that come snow or sunshine
She has mouths to feed
I revere this gifted woman
Who uses her creativity
To make an impact in society
Despite the uniqueness of her talent
She remains a trendsetter
It could be the potter in whose hands clay becomes magic
The miner who touches gold, before it even gets sold to the markets
Or the strategist who sits in high-level meetings, making sure organizations do not collapse
A special mention to the special woman
Who chooses not to give up
She understands that others look up to her
The smart lady out there, with a clear vision
She makes things happen for her family, community and the world at large
She deserves a badge of honour
Because she is remarkable!

I have always wanted to be like you,
Yet I'm never enough,
It never fails to frustrate me,
I wish it's myself I love.
Knowing I can do better,
Be respected,
Form a trendsetter,
Feel connected,
Only can I imagine.
Somehow think that I'm an attraction.
I have always wanted to speak like you,
Yet my voice tortures,
It never fails to frustrate me,
Sounds like chanting from warriors.
Many have fallen asleep to yours,
Wish I knew how to do that,
It's not that you're a bore,
Just a soothing, calm chitchat.
I have always wanted to be you,
Yet I'm me,
Without your inspiration,
I wonder where I'd be.
