Sky of Love
Yellow Lies
<i>If your wife is murdered and the killer is never caught If your son is killed by a drunk driver who swerved his direction We always hear the word “closure” used in many situations It’s like putting a band-aid on a wound needing stitches It can’t bring a deceased spirit back to life It can’t find the man who murdered your wife It may bring some temporary relief from your grief But the word closure is never quite complete Search parties scour the ocean For that missing plane near Laos Radar say’s it went down over there But no-one can really say where It’s at the bottom of the sea To deep for the eyes to see In reality it’s a watery tomb It may never be found and all that we hear Is that word closure mentioned …oh dear The relatives are seen crying in disbelief Like it’s a bad dream and there’s no relief That closure word is so meaningless it’s almost comical I for one refuse to use it or mention it to family When I hear it at a funeral I just try to ignore it It’s easy for me to make that statement When I am the one doing the talking While another poor soul receives the bad news That word closure is giving me the “blues”

Closure ...is it really
*Yellow people were everywhere.... their eyes were thin and their bodies were scrawny A ********** strolled by me.... she promised me a good time $200 for 1 hour and $400 for 2 Oral costed extra.... A man was eating octopus next to him, another man was eating a dog he claimed it taste like chicken... gravel kissed my feet, and a M14 cuddle with my hands a pack of Skittles snuggled in my pocket some cigarettes and canteen full of whiskey also accompanied me.... I smashed the leaves with black boots and camouflage married the trees A body stared at me a star shaped hole through his head two kids burned to ash, and a wife with her throat slit laid next to him No tears were shed..... A Vietcong with his arms shot off he coughed up blood... he whispered, but the whisper was inaudible I put a bullet through his chest... No tears were shed.... a good friend of mine... stepped on a landmine his body went every which way a arm went left a torso went right and his head went backwards... No tears were shed.... My unit entered a abandoned building they saw a young girl.... her clothes were ripped, her screams echoed, five men took turns with her... my M14, loaded, five bullets, silence and a pool of blood..... no tears were shed...*

Laos (No Tears Were Shed)
- up country Laos, 1972 I won't do it, I said. I won't. It's a direct order, he said. We stood a few yards apart, in front of the blasted wire where the screaming enemy wounded were caught like stuck flies. It had been a long night of attack and repulse; the howling wounded were all that remained. He was maybe thirty, an Ivy League ***** wannabe; I was just a battle weary broken 20-year-old with no silver spoon. You will get your *** out there and tap those moaning ***** and you will do it now, another order. I said, I'm a medic, not a murderer. They are prisoners. There are lines, even here. I will not cross this one. **** lines. What you are, he said, is a ***** In his hand, a lethal black 9mm Beretta; in mine a 1911 model Colt 45 automatic. Both loaded. Both ready to speak. Both angry. Both anxious. Both with something to say. You aren't my CO. You're not even an officer. I refuse, I said. **** you and the Company. My hand tensed on the 45. The Beretta quivered. We looked at each other, working out the odds, Death, for one of us, seemed only a few seconds away. But he hesitated, lowered his weapon. It's ******* like you who lost this war, he said. And it's mad men like you who started it, I replied. He turned and walked out to tap the wounded, one by one, ****** after ****** Delighting in revenge. I walked back to the chopper, gun in hand, and nodded to the pilot. We flew away, at first to more war, but then back to the world, the world that could never, ever be the same. ~mce

She waited impatiently for dawn to break. Darkness had swallowed up her small house. Her golden locks wound tight like a snake. Her longing heart throbbed with ache. The hearth’s warmth beckoned a mouse. She waited impatiently for dawn to break. Chimney smoke hung over the frozen lake. Clenched tight with fists her flowery blouse. Her golden locks wound tight like a snake. Thoughts of mourning she tried to shake. Overflowing to the floor her *** of scouse. She waited impatiently for dawn to break. She couldn’t join the rest with a smile so fake. Her soldier was somewhere from here to Laos. Her golden locks wound tight like a snake. His absence pierced her heart like a stake. Driven to the bottle like a louse. She waited impatiently for dawn to break. Her golden locks wound tight like a snake.

Wartime Wife
Once on a miserably hot, humid day cruising above a silent jungle, I watched a twenty-two year old Cobra pilot clear his machine guns on an ancient, abandoned, Buddhist temple. All the hubris of western civilization explicated in one burst. Homer, who best knew the hearts of men at war, could not have sung it better. - mce

sometimes the stars seem to clink like glass and then fall out of place and drop and drop until maybe I guess they land in some farmers field in Armenia or Laos and then perhaps a young boy will go out to play and find a feat that will take away his boyish charm but oh those boyish fantasies will soar

SEALs 1962 Laos was a hot spot Army, Marine Corps, and Navy Amphibious Scout and Raider school was established in 1942 at Fort Pierce, Florida.[12] Such esprit de we, the fewer still, we, the braver still, we the never free… Here, none hearing me, none believing we survived, this is 2025, we are past all statutes limiting idle word accountibility, today as if all before is over, and this is after, ever before remains to prove, here now, on any given day, all hell breaks loose, you listen, not long, reply, it's okay, that happens generally, we don't know it all, but generally, this is life, the good sometimes win, sometimes lose, last time, everybody dies.

Old Ghost's War Stories
~Vietnam/ Laos 1972 Known variously as: Indian Country,
 the ****
the Jungle & the Zone. ****** stumps, flying metal,
 charred flesh,
 screaming agony,
 cellular fear,
 burning choppers,
 dying men, dead eyes
staring, betrayal. “Don’t mean ******* nothing.” Not a place on a map, but a state of mind -
my mind. Vietnam has fallen,
but the Zone remains a jungle in my head & some things
return me there. There I learned the necessary. In the Zone, only predator and prey, **** or be killed,
 win or die,
the quick and the dead. In the Zone
 only survival matters -
no morality,
no right or wrong
 no lies,
no truths, no fair, no unfair. No rules at all. "It's **only a **** **** it." In the Zone everything is allowed… meet the enemy, destroy him,
 maim him,
 outsmart him,
walk away with the blood of others squishing in your boots feeling gloriously alive. Friend,
 brother, enemy,
 child,
lover, you do not - ever -
want to meet me in the Zone. –mce

The Zone
Take me to the xylographs of Tunis Where silken shades of colour Dissolve and reassemble Take me to the white veils of sand Along with Elysia To the oils of Giverny scented with Climbing roses ( I want to touch them with my fingers) Take me to the orange rows of Laos and -further away- let me Into the magic Australian Outback ( I want to count how many dots exploding The picturesque of Aboriginals) Take me to Berlin before the curtain on The Night To the peripheries of the world ( I want to look in the eye the eyes kept prisoner by Time) Then let me into the remote echo of the invisible squares

Take me
I know, i know you may have forgotten all about us, but we are here hidden in the darkness waiting patiently til its our time to strike and bring true Laos and madness upon this world. We are the most dangerous and statistic people you will ever meet in your life. Our names is wrath, greed, sloth, pride, lust, envy and gluttony. So beware cause we are here to stay and enjoy our selves. I know you may be afraid to fall into our control, but I do know we all do sin some way so don't fight it just give in to it and it all will be better for you and me. There is no way to get away from us we are an united force that shall cast this world into madness once and for all we are the seven deadly sins.

lil' mama
I took the girl I had known for never to the formal affair, And she told me she was from Laos, And hadn't had sushi in over a year, And said her father was a diplomat, And she spoke great English, And said she lived in Canada when she was a child, All I could say was, "I hope I'm as interesting as you someday." She smiled, laughed, and said, "Your time is up." As she was leaving all I could think was, "That escort sure had an elaborate backstory."

Roses are red, violets are blue, I know this is cliche but i... don't think this will be short enough to make a haiku. Then there's the colours, forms of grey. On the tips of our tongues, that we are afraid to... reluctantly, but defiantly play. We stir in the night, our minds still rouse. Ideas and thoughts keeping us away from a true... love that is as the beaches of Laos, though hear me through. Enjoy the moment, that every second you see. This last part gets tricky but it's for you... <insert name that ends in EEEE >
