The three compassions
came to me
in a moment of silence
during a dream.
Not a daymare
Not a nightmare.
But in a moment of
rare and splendid peace.

It was laid out
for me
in a single distinct vision.

Compassion for self
Compassion for others
and the undefinable innocence of
all existence.

I tried so hard
to do so good
in everything
I said and did
but
faltering, fumbling,
obsessed, and human flawed.
I had much to learn
about
acceptance,
forgiveness
and the live and learn.

Perhaps this compassion
never comes
except in moments
of melancholy
on a foggy Christmas morning.

The fire needed tending
the warmth of the glow was fading.

I looked into her eyes
I looked into their eyes
and where I looked
I saw that with a look
I turned others
into
objects, chairs, tables, rocks.
I saw a different glow
the touch of that
innocent continuity
in all of us
fragile I'ness
suspended in a holistic whole
of
joy, suffering
peace and fear
connection and love
shining glowing
light of life
within the darkness
of the universe.

The third compassion
is rather odd
a mandala.
Extending out in concentric circles
encompassing the
fantastical, magical
workings of the universe
the vast expanse
of space and time.

And my momentarily
conscious knowledge
of my glowing light
and my place
in
now.

I saw the temporary tenderness
of all existence
my heart opened
the fire surged
on this foggy
humboldt
Christmas sunrise...

The Hanbleceya.
The cry for a vision.
The Vision Quest.
The space between worlds.
In the presence of the Great Mystery.
I went down to the fire,
and she, the self I aim to be,
was not there.
I became her.
And maybe just for that moment on my blanket because I needed to be her.
She is on the eternal quest.
Forever in search,
forever seeking.
That magic I was hoping for did not emerge in the way I believed it would...
I let instead the Earth, and only her,
hear my screams.
Hear some deep agony within me,
maybe not even completely of my own.
Maybe the ancestral pains of the women who carried lives before me.
Red is the road to my heart,
is the color that bled out of me on the way up.
Dripping prayers down my legs,
each step became even more sacred.
Together, we sang our warrior song.
They are my amor, my comfort, my shelter, my warmth.
But on your blanket in your circle of prayers,
there is only you and the Creator.
You and the Great Mystery.
You and your fears, your pains, your demons.
You and your truths, your reasons, your prayers.
It is your choice whether to feed to thirst and hunger in your head,
or the hunger in your soul.
There is no greater pain than a soul not enacting its purpose,
its duty, its agreement with the Divine.
No greater pain.
And those screams that emerged from me,
from depths vast and deep,
was everything I ever let block me.
When we are broken open,
when we cry that deep soul cry,
we are breaking to let love and truth in,
we are watering our gardens.
So what magic am I believing was not present?
A vision may have not been shown to me,
but the courage of a single moment was.
To decide to not shut my eyes,
but to pray.
To offer compassions back to the Earth and take less for myself.
To not **** a single mosquito,
but rather walk off that blanket four days later marked with their persistence.
I watched their points enter my flesh
and saw their bodies fill with my blood.
Maybe they were extracting from me all that I no longer need.
And what itch is worse?
That of a red bump,
or that of the soul's need to incessantly scratch through its flesh suit to get to the core of its truth?
There were hours upon hours I let myself fall silent.
Listened to the sound of the woodpecker,
watched the spider crawl,
saw the turkey run.
They know how to be at home here.
And it is nothing grand that they do,
but they understand their purpose and place and they do not strive to feed and ego.
They do not "Ease God Out."
They are of God,
they are a God of their own.
So how do I remove myself from all the ******* of this world
if I do not place my being into the womb of Creation and sit?
The layers strip down,
the sun rises and sets and does so again.
I began to know before the sky would lighten that the morning was coming soon just by the sounds of the forrest.
The great trees barely swayed and the Earth was uprooting.
What am I doing here?
The days were long and hard and filled with a frustrating buzzing in my ears.
Buzzing like all the nonsensical thoughts we have on a daily basis.
If only our ears would buzz and ring every time we had a thought that backtracked us from our truths
and the inherent love that is within our beings.
If only we had the persistence of the mosquito that does not,
will not stop until it is filled with the one nectar it was meant to live on.
There were moments of bliss and moments I felt anxiety bubble up within.
Such a rare form of myself,
a piece of me I do not know too well.
I wanted to crawl out of my skin and be gone.
Be wind, be ether, be smoke.
Be gone.
And then they came,
bearing compassion.
Just a single sip of water.
Just a little.
They handed me that cup and I just cried.
Cried from the depths of my being.
"Do I even deserve this?"
And I let some moments pass,
held that cup in my hands and prayed in the form of tears.
That water,
that precious gift bearing life,
it touched my lips and made its way into my being.
And all become calm.
I am here for a purpose,
on this blanket, I mean.
I am here and meant to be no where but here.
And gently they spoke of the 6 pointed white star flowers surrounding me.
Not to me,
but a message for me.
A reminder of the beauty all around,
if I would only just look.
There I was,
sitting upon the hands of Creation.
If I had just stopped to listen,
stopped to breathe,
maybe I would have understood that on my own.
But that is why we tie that red prayer hung to our Ancestors.
He said,
"that prayer is your reminder to come back."
So for the next 360 days until I sit upon my blanket again,
the only prayer is to remember what I learned on that Mountain.
To remember what a blessing it is to drink a sip of water,
to be alone,
to look not into the eyes of another,
but only see the beauty of Creation.
I went out there wanting to be silent.
To just listen to what the world had to speak to me,
to shut out the voice in my head,
but there were moments that I could not hold back the words and prayers from my throat,
moments I needed to send my voice up or else I swore I would get up off that blanket and just walk away.
Moments I swore I would have filled the Earth with my screams again.
And when I spoke,
it was with such softness.
Maybe to not disrupt the frequency that Mountain has known long before Creator ever chose that spot for me to pray.
Maybe because when I spoke I barely recognized my own voice.
Because when you speak to Creation,
it is the truest version of yourself whose voice rises up from the very depths of your soul.
This is the voice that Creator knows.
And I just need to say I'm sorry that if for any moment I used my voice not pray
or to talk myself back into my heart and out of my head.
I'm sorry if I wasted a single moment on that Mountain.
The minutes seem so long when you're out there,
but now as I'm back home,
I'm wishing I could have just a few moments back on my blanket.
That I could have just one more opportunity to pray.
I would say to the Creator my name,
I would say please help me because I am struggling.
Please help me because  just want to make the best out of my life.
Please help me because I want to make sure I am on the right path to my purpose.
Please help me because I never want to know a life without you,
without prayer, without this Red Road.
Just one more time I want to speak those truths and let my tears become offerings of myself to the Earth.
But that is why we tie that prayer in Red.
Because I can go back.
I will go back and again be given the holy space to send my voice up and pray,
to cry,
to fall into silence,
to watch the sun set and rise again.
And I can stop now and breath.
I can stop and close my eyes and be on my blanket.
I can smell the freshness of Earth and the copal cloud of smoke.
I can pray and cry with myself on that blanket,
because there is a piece of me that will always be there.
It is in Hindu mythology
Shiva is the god of immortality
Today is Mahashivratri
Marking it as marriage anniversary
of lord shiva and goddess Parvati
Day is celebrated with
worship of Lord Shiva
by fasting ,meditation
and performing yoga
Night is spent keeping awake
and singing devotional songs
to receive great compassions
What a nice ritual of
detoxification in India
With so much fun fair
and scientific idea.
Nolan Willett Jun 2019
In ancient unenlightened days,
There came a man whose triumph would’ve laid
Foundations for a better world,
Our inner compassions unfurled.
For we thought we found a holy seer,
To rid our lives of all our fear,
To tell us what to say and what to think
What to do and what to drink.
He did his best,
I can attest,
To warn us of that one,
Who would see all our progress undone.
Indeed, many in our history have been
Told what constitutes sin,
Left with a hurtful scar,
By one who never wandered very far.
And our true messiah saw
This prophet for a gaping maw,
Another of the tempter’s tricks,
A man whose touch could heal the sick.
For he loved God more than most
But found him in the cosmos,
Our divine provenance,
Rooted in collective consciousness,
Not an oath to take or die
Or a being to mollify,
Nor any kind of credo,
But an universal ego.
Heeding logic over gullibility
He recognized the liability,
One who would see them die for naught,
And stray them from the insight they sought.
But in trying to break the cycle
He heralded its arrival,
Enshrining the sun,
Of the cursed three-in-one.
He made a martyr
And thus followed generational slaughter.
Promising sacred haven,
Causing war and famine.
For deceivers are known to appear as savior,
For them there is no pleasure greater,
In casting down the righteous,
And rendering them mindless.
And so millennia could have been spared
From some cruelty our kind have shared-
So long and so onerous, never ending-
And our pity’s rending.
The earth’s inhabitants coalesced,
No longer their souls oppressed,
Saved from prejudice,
Alas, poor Judas.
Sorry I published this a couple times I had to fix some things and I like it so
at news of her death

Not a line of her writing have I
Not a thread of her hair,
No mark of her late time as dame in her dwelling, whereby
I may picture her there;
And in vain do I urge my unsight
To conceive my lost prize
At her close, whom I knew when her dreams were upbrimming with light
And with laughter her eyes.

What scenes spread around her last days,
Sad, shining, or dim?
Did her gifts and compassions enray and enarch her sweet ways
With an aureate nimb?
Or did life-light decline from her years,
And mischances control
Her full day-star; unease, or regret, or forebodings, or fears
Disennoble her soul?

Thus I do but the phantom retain
Of the maiden of yore
As my relic; yet haply the best of her—fined in my brain
It may be the more
That no line of her writing have I,
Nor a thread of her hair,
No mark of her late time as dame in her dwelling, whereby
I may picture her there.
Tyler King Nov 2015
From the concrete purgatory of my burdened decades I hear them,
From the capital run over, drowned in the tide of righteous pandering fervor I hear them,
From the streets taken to by shock treatment portraits of deaths un-died, I hear them:
The mournful howl of the 108,000 in waiting,
Terrified for the fate of their soon to be brothers, sisters, competition for the future,
For the divine rewards the privileged will promise themselves for their narrow compassions,
For the killers slapped on the wrist while the innocent remain condemned to a life that no one asked for, without the consent of anyone involved,
Yes, the street preacher cries,
Yes to life,
Yes to opportunity,
Yes to the future promised to all of us by this great nation,
(Well, all of us, not all of you)
But when the destitute mothers of a generation abandoned reach out cupped hands for help,
He's left his wallet in his other ideology,
Divine privilege only applies to you before you're born,
After that you're on your own
All lives matter, until they're alive

I see this birth as death
Memories pierce our grief once again
Your desire
My prayer
Small lights turn the city to blood
How scarcely we envied the sea
Trembling senses make us look further
Find my compassions worth
You speak of leaving
Only the dead escape this torture
And we are still much alive, my love
Samuel Apr 2011
We're composing, you and I
Composing something greater than
Either of us can imagine
And it makes sense
For one to find the other
On occasion, the universe demonstrates
The greatest of compassions

I'm afraid
No work will be done today
As happy as I am
It is hard to attempt math
Equations on a cloud

She kissed my scars
That moment lingers on, whispering
I like you for who you are
All of you

And I do
My heart giving me
Away at times
I do

Nothing will ever be the same
Least of all my life

THE CAMINO CHRONICLES

OISIN’S LAMENT

I CANNOT BEAR TO SAY FAREWELL
IF FAREWELL IS ALL THAT REMAINS TO BE SAID
THE FINAL SONG OF OUR LOVES DAY
1 CANNOT BEAR TO FOREVER HERE STAY
ALONE ADRIFT IN TIMES ETERNAL TIDE
ALONE, SO ALONE WITHOUT YOU BY MY SIDE
I CANNOT BEAR TO SAY FAREWELL
WHEN IN EVERY CANDLES FLAME I LIGHT
I SEE YOUR LAUGHING EYES YET SHINE BRIGHT

The man, lanky and
Lugubrious in his actions,
Filled with loneliness and
Compassions. I watch
With absurd interest as he
Smiles, missing teeth and
Yet, a light in his eyes that
Never goes out when he
Talks to his grandson,
Beauty and approbation
On his face. I conclude
With sadness that this is
The only time he is happy.
The only time the life in
Him awakens. The only
time his soul rejoices
And yet, I sit here, just
Penning down someone's
Penurious life sans joy.
Doing nothing about it,
Replicating the standard
Human nature.
This poem holds a very trying message. We see someone in need for help and we tend to ignore that person. Why? Why is humanity missing that kind of compassion? It's not just me, it's you too. Help someone and feel good about it.

Mark the 'withered'
words  of St.Mark
Hark! The 'tethered' verse
had gathered many
smothered seeds to grow
Unbothered bards to strow
The words undithered before swords
Of proud religious crowds
Whose life is bound by
books of frigid commands.
The Sun is for all man kind
Spreading love light to all kinds.
Not for 'we' men alone
And not for 'woe' man forlorn.
Its for all unkind and kind alike.
Sun of man is a book
Of compassions with unbound leaves of love
Demands no learning to read and recite
Rewrite and reverberate
It's a book that reads and recites itself
Flows the elixir of life
It waters the withered,
Tethered, thirsty
Creating beauty
Removing dirt and disorder
The Sun of man
Returns for duty,
In uniform every morning.

Jump into my arms and there find sweet rests
Climb into my soul and there get calm comforts
Come, come into my heart and find everlasting peace

Come take a walk into my being
And there enjoy truer compassions
Plenty of sincere and pure passions

My heart will be with you
My soul will be for you
My breath will be under you
My body will abide with you

My thoughts and wants; feelings and emotions
My desires and aspires; urges and yearns
Will be at home with you, in your true jails

Just come, come experience my ambience
Just come, come be my soul’s solo audience
My heart awaits for your sanctimonious salience

My thoughts will be for you
My dreams will be for you
You will be the revere of my reflections:
The respect of my contemplations

My brain will follow your will
Your will, will be my daily fill
In every of me I will you truly feel
For with you I am in total capitulation

My veins are open to carry you back to your humble hut-my heart
My arteries are widening to sail you through your dignity-my divinity
My Vena amoris is all yours, a private jet to airlift you to your sacristy-my soul
You only need to come home, if only you come home!

Searching a dirt and gravel road
in the half light .
Seeking any presence of the Lord
from the shadow of the wind .

Parched and dusty walking alone
Counting every rock and
Every blade of grass .
Compassions heartbeat
reflects
the shadow of my teachers .

Feeling a Thousand years old
yet struggling to be reborn .
Five minutes to midnight
from the shadow of the turning.

Taking a journey through
the center of my heart .
A voyage beyond
the shadow of my soul .

Wanting answers to forever
is each rock really numbered
along with every blade of grass ?
From the shadow of my
darkest hours
to the shadow of my
salvation.
In the shadow of my faith
and the shadow of my mercy
Comes the shadow of my
Love .

I am stepping out over
the bridge
acrossed the shadow
of still water .
As thunder slips behind .

...every morning, great is Thy faithfulness."  (Lam 3:22-23)

(sonnet #MMMMMMMDCCXXXVII)

O hark now as the train's voice rumbles! Pale
Night else is dead asleep til ah, from hence
That warning whistle pierces through suspense;
And I just listen, rolling to avail
Those words across my silent tongue to scale,
Half seeing that mighty being which passes thence
As wont through woods none save the beasts fr'intents
Troll, wondring dimly over which detail?
Ha, I dunno.  Like, since I canna stir
Good slumber now, should I erm, rise and *****
That effort, to ink down this thought?  Tis poor.
Thus roll oer and exhale.  If morn debut
Sans fanfare, say a chance to write in tour
Shall yield that note a voice?  And what is new?

Trains.   Don't you just love their reality AND the metaphor?  Timing too,...AFTER midnight--what's that signify?
Poetic T Jan 2019
We are woven in the majestic
                      verses of past voices.
Made silent by time,
but etched within the fallen trees
that hold these voices
                                      within them.

For every moment is a page turned.
           A collection of reflections that
                                             when read,
collect within a picture
           of every ballad concealed within.

So many compassions of emotion are bonded
                                                 within sentences.
When a tree falls it makes no sound.
But the words its carries afterwards,
make those inspired to reach higher
any branch that soared before it.

You are nothing but bones
Just
Like
Me
And on top
The temper
The false interest
Ignorance
With That ******* Strut around,
Hold your head down and walk
With wide withered words
And Small drops
of pencil scratched compassions
On an ever expanding universe
Two drops
Is not enough
To turn a single grape
Not enough to mask

These visions

I try to speak
I'm choked from within
Each of my compassions
Haunts me as my sin

My love, you are as I could never picture.
In your eyes, you have curiosity.
In your hands, you have adeptness.
In your mind, you have intricacy.

My love, you are as I could never be.
In your gentleness, you are strong.
In your quietness, you are contemplating.
In your happiness, you are stunning.

My love, you are as I could never feel.
In your compassions, you rebuild.
In your empathy, you heal.
In your being, you love.

More than I ever could.

More than you'd ever know.

I AM A CHILD WHO SINGS LOVE.
I WILL EXPAND IN DAY.
I FEEL THE POWER ENTER,
AS I MOVE IN MY WAY.

I AM A CHILD OF LIGHT FIELDS,
THAT GLOWS TO FEEL SO FREE.
A CHILD WHO RADIATES JOY,
FOR ALL THE WORLD TO SEE.

IN AND OUT
ROUND ABOUT
MOVE TO PLANT A SEED.
FLOWERS GROW INSIDE HEART.
WHAT A PLACE TO BE.

IN AND OUT
I WILL SHOUT
TO ANOINT WITH LOVE.
OPEN EYES WITH DREAMS SET.
WHAT A PLACE TO BE.

I AM A CHILD ETERNAL.
I HOLD COMPASSIONS LIGHT.
IN LIFE I HAVE ABUNDANCE.
ALL THINGS WILL BE ALRIGHT.

I’M A CHILD OF THE DIVINE,
WITH POWERS ALL MY OWN.
AS I CONNECT WITH SPIRIT,
MY PURPOSE WILL BE SHOWN.

IN AND OUT
I SHAN’T POUT
EVERYTHING IS GRAND.
MAGIC COMES IN MOMENTS,
MAKES ME RISE TO STAND.

I AM A CHILD WHO BOWS DOWN,
TO CELEBRATE WITH LOVE.
AND AS WE GATHER TO SHARE,
WE ALL WILL FLY LIKE DOVE.

I AM A CHILD WITH GRAND GIFTS
TO REWAKE YOU’LL SEE.
LETS MAKE MUSIC TOGETHER
TO LIVE IN HARMONY.

Came while doing dishes. LOL  meant to sing as song. Anyone out there that has a voice and would like to sing it and give me a copy I would be grateful.
Secretions of compassions
Given unto those who feel not

love from those they need.

Who feel not their souls
which need be freed

Who feel not they could
Ever succeed.

Secretions of Love
Given to those
who are pure as a dove

But suffered like Christ.

The innocent, not yet taught
Of responsibility,
and Clarity
and control
of your mind.
The innocent who have been

Hung on the cross

Forced to suffer

for no apparent reason.

you
I don't know you
you don't know me

but can we be here?
in this moment, for a while, together.

Your past,
Memories
Pain
Obsessions
Joys
Compassions

Are what I love most about you
Even though we are strangers

You're beautiful
I wish you could see yourself through my eyes

The innocence of ignorance
I understand you have parts of yourself you hide away
As do we all

That part is ok, because for know
We don't have to look at it
Its as if it doesn't exist

As your best parts of yourself are revealed first to a person you just met

That is you
Your best parts
That is who I choose to see

But I accept all of you
Because I know how much you hurt
I know your weight

For I share it too
in this moment
We can lift each other's burdens

Before we inevitably must return
to reality
Psalm-84
Oh, Lord, manifest yourself
In times of trouble.

Disclose your faithfulness.
Uncover your compassions.
Display your kind mercies.

Reveal your mighty deeds…
The stealthy moving
Of your gracious hand.

You are most generous.
And I am forever seeking
Your unfathomable love.

Oh my God, I welcome
Your blessings evermore.

Beyond the imagination is where I live
breathing in love energies to stabilize.
Reaching with love to feel empowered.

My steps become like dance,
drifting as they take off in winged flight.

Colors surround with rainbow light
spiraling to mesh inside my sacred breath.

My pulse rises to match hearts delicate song.
My voice echoes to expand in moments gift.

Sun always shines from heart as compass within leads with grace.
Life becomes a living prayer as I live with compassions light.

Entwined inside love energies I move
creating all my tomorrows with breath
making all my dreams reality.

No more distractions,
Attachments,
Compassions
Could match with
Some matches
Of ashes fall down
But they wouldn’t be her
And by her am still bound
And I just can’t imagine
A million and one
Beauty pageants
Don’t have it
They wouldn’t be fun
Couldn’t temper the zealot
The way that she could
Center me to expel it
In ways to be good
More conducive to us
And the rest of the world
Could erode into dust
If I must go on bearing
The lust of love lost
Like two names in a heart
In a tree trunk embossed
There was just the implicit
