The first days of warmth
always seem long, perpetual
Though grateful for rays beaming, burning the dark of winter from you
The death of winter leaving,
thus spring gracing us
with its gilded flowers and endless light

When the birds have fallen silent,
and the insects follow suit.
The Wind roars, primal and violent.
The Cold of Winter is absolute.

The Trees stand steadfast in slumber,
the Rivers are frozen still.
The hours of Man are numbered,
Death will have its fill.

The Heart beats with the Warmth of Life,
The veins within will slow.
The Soul cut out from flesh like a knife,
The Final Peace we shall know.

Eyes freeze solid against the chill,
Marrow ices in the bone.
Winter must take, and shall what it will,
The Warmth of Life unknown.

what a heavy heart i hold
when an ex-lover tells me
of his 2a.m. window
how he stares through it and cries
he longs to be held,
by anyone, though not me
but i can sing for him
through little videos of folk
and little words of honey
"I'm older now than I have any right to be
Old enough to repaint and young enough to sell
I feel tired
I want to be held
I'm just
Cold"
I told him once how life was short,
but love grew old
My trust is nervous
he has the right to be so dear to me
I'll hold this pain forever
I'll let it rest within
every weathering and lacing moment
where the knots in his hair have been
I still have this window
I still have his heart
I still feel his warmth
even without him

There is nothing more to say than "hello".
Expanding its breadth,
The sun waves,
And I smile back.
"Hello"

Hairs rise up
Firm with determination on a
Dry cold desert
Against the force of winter.
The frozen air compresses
My body into a stuffed dwarf
And churns my stomach with the
Utmost force I was ignorant of.

There is no place for me
In this forsaken season.
Wandering around - unsuccessful
In finding the warmth that
Can embrace my numb skin.

Prayer is the only option to
Soothe my yearning
For Spring to carry the
New wave of heat
That will breathe life into
My lonely soul.

Colors have meanings
yet, I cannot understand this one
This color gives of a hint of freshness,
new beginnings in one's life
A warmth spread so thin
it reflects upon us during the day

Everyone is surrounded by it
Yet, this color is most peculiar
Why does it exist to humans?
Nothing is felt from it
It is only described
to the nature that provides it

If anything it makes me feel disturbed
it glares at you, like it's judging
Most food that rots or molds,
turns this color first
Yet, this color is defined as
vibrant, relaxing, and summer
Can anyone guess this color?

there's something about the way you smile,
that makes me tingly and bares me warmth,
so do me a favor and never stop
smiling at me.

it's a drug,
and i've become addicted,
to the way your lips quirk upward,
so look my direction and smile,
just promise you won't stop.

I think it’s gold– your feeling
surrounding, warming–

Like comfort dipped in inkwells
of truth and I-was-thinking-of-you–

washed and dotted and brushed gently.
I feel the texture of your care,

breathe the hues of your worry–
greens of calm, blues for fingertips,

like tiny droplets creating impossible waves
in this vast ocean we call Us. And then–

gold. Gold for you and gold for me
beneath skies ablaze with cosmic bearings.

Maybe I was caste in iron, but you
gilded me in starlight– give me reason

to paint my world
in colors of your love.

i have convinced myself otherwise.

that all these feelings for you have vanished,
and it did at least for a little bit.

or maybe i just ignored it too well,
but when you grasped my hand.

your touch brought warmth,
and sparked all the forbidden emotions to unleash.

yet i still try to convince myself otherwise,
but these emotions are a good high.

even if you are never mine.
kinda missin' that warmth.
