Unity is needed in time of crisis,
We can beat this virus.
We need to trust than to doubt,
Don't let negativity surround.
We need to hold on,
Until it is gone.
Everyone stay safe! Listen and follow the government. Always wash your hands❤️

enjoy the little things
they're everywhere you look
a smile on your beloved's lips
a photograph you took

a cup of tea to warm your hands
a record on repeat
a cat - yes, he's a pest! -
who rubs against your feet

a morning ray of light
to gently wake you up
a calm and silent night
a soft and tender hug

a hearty meal made just for you
a tune you gladly sing
a smiley face you daughter drew
a moment to slow down and think

enjoy the things you have for free
the air, the sun, the love
enjoy and one day you shall see
your life fits like a glove

Stay safe and be loved!

Here I am
staring at pixelated people
and I want so desperately to see them
face to face.
My eyes ache from blue light.
Why are we even trying?

Ugh.

We are alone.
Isolated like islands
in a sea of disease
and fear.

But.

I called an elderly lady today
just to check in
since I can't see her
or listen to her talk
about doilies and dinners and memories

And.

I understood then --
alone does not mean apart
and distancing does not mean forgetting.
Yet I forgot.

So.

I'm not giving up
on the light of the summer
to chase away the winter blues
and diseases.

No matter what keeps us apart,
we are here
a safety net of helping hands and words
we are unity.
I know there is so much fear about the CoronaVirus right now. I feel it. There will be a better time when we can embrace our people and see them face to face.

Corona
by Michael R. Burch

There was a moment
without the sound of trumpets or a shining light,
but with only silence and darkness and a cool mist
      felt more than seen.
      I was eighteen,
my heart pounding wildly within me like a fist.
Expectation hung like a cry in the night,
and your eyes shone like the corona of a comet.

There was an instant . . .
without words, but with a deeper communion,
    as clothing first, then inhibitions fell;
      liquidly our lips met
      —feverish, wet—
forgotten, the tales of heaven and hell,
in the immediacy of our fumbling union . . .
when the rest of the world became distant.

Then the only light was the moon on the rise,
and the only sound, the communion of sighs.

With all the understandable gloom, doom and despair over the coronavirus, I was reminded of this early poem of mine that used the term "corona" in a much more positive light. I wrote this poem around age 18 and it has been published by Grassroots Poetry and Poetry Webring. Keywords/Tags: Corona, coronavirus, touch, union, communion, sighs, expectation, unity, trumpets, heart, pounding, ***, arousal, union, ecstasy, consummation, consecration, omen, comet, shooting star, talisman, moonrise, moon rising

In times of difficulty,
the nation needs unity.

Days have passed by,
many people died,
yet numbers of deaths still multiply,
now we are terrified.

Went by No Frills to do grocery,
it was very busy,
line up was crazy,
not to mention, shelves were almost empty.

Thinking to get plenty
but I realized that the elderly,
is our main priority.
I know this is not our responsibility,
but we are in the state of emergency,
and they need our help badly.

Consideration is the key,
everybody has a necessity,
I know you're worried about your inventory,
and you have a family
who needs a coffee and a tea,
but what about the rest of the community?

Put pen to paper
- it's so simple -
And wield the might
Of countless words!

Be brave and daring
Or... be nimble:
Your thoughts can be
As sharp as swords.

Pick up a pencil
- pen a poem -
Enlighten, thrill and entertain!
But once it does spring from your *****,
What sway is there to retain?..

The words you say
Are gone forever!
Life of their own,
So free at last!

By humbly scribbling
You endeavour
To stay the future and the past...

Partake in pleasure
- pure and proper -
Both art and craft, it's eons old!

Tread lightly!
There's a world on offer,
A slew of stories to be told.
Happy World Poetry Day!

We are all different in many ways —
In height and weight
In maturity and age
In skin colour and shade
In culture and faith
In riches and wealth
In physique and strength
In intelligence and wellness
Nevertheless —
we all belong to the human race
We should give no place to hate
We should let love have its way,
It's the one thing we all crave.
Diversity creates beauty
and Unity brings strength.

How beautiful you bloom
when you nurture your roots
Self-care can be hard to master but when it is practiced, you begin to learn that it is a stepping stone to your wholesomeness. It is the key ingredient that combines balance and unity to your soul that makes you who you are.

Dangerous virus is killing our nation
I'm begging everyone we need your attention
We don't have yet the needed formulation
And please stop all the nonsense articulation

We're asking from everyone support and cooperation
Just stop for a moment we don't need accusation
We need to do some action not just negotiation
The number of death increase we need coordination

Follow the proclamation for effective implementation
Let's make a good team with great combination
Let's help our nation with superb determination
We are one in this battle to save the generation
Let's pray for all the frontliners, doctors, nurses and health organization for they stay awake 24/7 to treat all the victims. Let's include to our prayers all the military,  cops and all who play their role to keep peace and order. Stop the blaming instead let's help them by staying inside our home bend our knees and utter a little prayers for the safety of everyone.
