I can't sleep when she's gone, because she's my reason for dreaming
Half-way across the world, and my heart still beats with hers
I can feel magnitudes of vibrations left by the whisper of her soul
Because we're two halves of a star turned to dust, forever connected
She's away and I'm left to wander until our paths cross again

Fatherless men, of fortitude
gaining the respect of others.
Brothers of arms, where one
falls, all would fall for another.

Never do they go singularly forth,
a unit of the numerous.
A back is never left alone, one covers
another, two are exclusive as another.

Closer than family are those who
would take one for the other.
Never knowing if the one decision will
bury them with a flag, as others salute them.

When I'm with you
times fades away.
When I'm with you
I enjoy the day.

When I'm with you
our love is thick.
When I'm with you
good-bye comes too quick.

When I'm with you
I never want it to end.
When I'm with you
I love the time we spend.

It’s not their level of education
It’s not their level of wealth
It’s not their looks
It’s not the way they dress
It’s not where they come from
It’s not their background
It’s not their interests
It’s not their personality
It’s not their music taste
It’s not you
It’s not me…

It’s simply love.

There is way more to love
Than what we think.

Love is and will always be
The only thing
That will bind two souls together.
love is blind

The frost’s bite is harsh on my pale face
Yet is made warmer by the presence of
Her, my cheeks fill with blush by her gaze.
Yet, the pain of an unrequited love

Lurks in the back of my mindscape, biding
It’s time, providing doubts and resistance,
The unforgivable sin of lying,
The mistakes of naïve adolescence.

But of adolescence I am no more,
So together we walk and together
We talk and together warm to the core,
Together a night lasts for forever.

As we wander through soft powdered moonstone
She gazes at me, fiery hair windblown

Find me here right at home
By the leaves where I was grown
Find me calling out all alone
For a love I'd never known.
Find your courage through the fall
By your return the frost will thaw
Discover we were never alone at all
Two halves of one story. You can read them as two separate poems or as one, but they're stronger together.

Humanity is lost and afraid
As I sit here today
I see our world enraged
Our soldiers are far away
Policeman's are dying and going into their graves
I look up at the stars and I hear a voice within my heart say
Every tongue and every nation has gone astray
Let my children's arise come together and be brave
For in my name (JESUS) there will be change
Many Souls will be saved
What has been will be again,
What has been done will be done again;
There is nothing new under the sun.
For evil is no longer on a marathon but on a sprint to outrun what is to come
But those in Christ, Gods sons
Will hear the sound of the trumpet, rapture and be gone

would I be depressed
if you were always by my side?
I know you are
there for me
but I need you to squeeze my arm
so I know that you are real
that I am
that everything is okay
but I know I can't really
depend my sanity
on another fragile being
together we are stronger
but what if we are
not
together

I'm fixing drinks in the kitchen - it's 4 am and I am petrified about our future.
I watch you sleep while I sip the bitter taste of whiskey running down my throat.
The memories of you and I in our wild years creeps back to me while I sit on the couch contemplating life.

You wore pants too tight for comfort and I wore the best dress I owned as we drove across the country.
We laughed and listened to music from the 90's and drank cheap beer at the motels we stayed at.
We took photos at every monument we saw and always kissed each other goodnight.

My dad always said you were never going to last.
I always thought... we were going to make this work.
You always told me you loved me even after we fought.

Here we are a few years down the road, you're sleeping soundly and I think... maybe my dad was right.
Because you're the kind of guy who dreams of stability.
I'm the kind of girl still dreaming of her wild years.
