My mother told me about
The evils of humans and how
My heart was the most
Vulnerable part of me.
So I locked it up tight and
Buried it away,
Thinking that I would be safe.
But you are a thief
And found out where I’d
Hidden it.
And now,
I am at Love’s mercy.
For years, they stole and robbed from our pockets.
For years, they murdered what faith we had,
Killed what hope we gained for ourselves.
Poverty loomed over us like death, the
Loss of materialistic payment. Currency controls;
We have none.

Beginning with a silly addition to parchment and paper.
A "stamp act," if you will. Oh, the rarity of a few extra
Coins to spend on a cake for the mistress!
Rebellion and violence against the act increased,
The Sons, the ones of Liberty left
Blood splattered on the ground we walk on.
Fear installed in the hearts of agents,
Collecting and shivering as coins ring in their satchels.
Soon, though, they left. Resigned and replaced themselves with
Another thief.
The Townshend- adding cents more to imported,
Provided, goods. The people starved for things
They need and can not afford.
Naive. They had materials. They had the skill,
But no need to use what they contained in their minds
And their bodies.
Begin the new world! Spin your own yarn and twine!
Build your own shoes! You don't need the goods
From old English factories and makers.

The disagreements and retaliation, the lack in
Morality in the brainwashed heads of soldiers.
A bothered redcoat drew his gun, leaving holes,
Horrible voids.
The dive from cliff to cliff, swing from tree to tree,
The ****** of blood and
The determination to be freed from the grasp of
A controlling monarchy.
The greed they exhibit and the cruelty.
Revenge for taking what is ours?
Sweet tea, English tea,
Soaked in the harbor. The tax will be no more!

The need for peace, rejected by one
Who wanted control and a steady reign.
The isolation, suffocation of the new land like an
Abused child.

It was only a matter of time before the child ran away.

I see it passing by, to the edge of my sight
Its  frozen gale leaving only words, petrified

The ground, unraveled at my feet , at every step
Seems ever more distant, as it soars in my head

In the blink of an eye, a year taken away
Each one of my breath blurs in a vapor, fine mist
Behind a tainted glass, the gleam of yesterdays
Then by then, I wonder: Did they even exist?

It takes and never gives,
It comes and never leaves
Time.
Time. The Thief.

Tick-tock, the time is near
So I tell this, please do not fear
Tick-tock, He's coming soon
One starry night with the bright round moon

Our faults, we needed to confess
Obey every single thing he says
The loathing in our hearts to stop
With the blood of violence, in its last drop

The Light is there, the Light is near.
Would you sacrifice the things you hold dear,
Just to grasp that Hope from afar
And to forget the past that brought that scar?

"To be rescued, or to keep on drowning?"
A question that bothers every human being
So wait on, and be watchful
The time will come for those who are faithful...

Tick-tock, the time is near
So I tell this, please do not fear
The time will come when all are done,
'Tis the arrival of the One.

Nothing they say is true;
My body is but a graveyard
where you bore
ten feet down and burried
my trust in men

My body is a graveyard and I am haunted
harboring all these dead secrets
everyone seems they have forgotten
inside me they are rotting

The girl in the mirror,
did she just escape a fire?
Haunted by the burn of liquor
Haunted by your searing fingers
(twenty of them)

Push me down harder
Pry me open quicker
I love the way it hurts
from an unfortunate experience when i was 14

You
you're the difference in between of
what i think and what i say
you're the only one who's capable
to take my breath away
you're the shadow i remember
in the nights i stay awake
you're the last remaining victim
of the promises you make
you're the arrogant admirer
of your own self-righteous good
you're the shallow little dreamer
drowning in your lifeless blood
you're the hopeless overthinker
who can't hold a conversation
you're the absence in the thought
behind your insecure frustration
you're the joke behind the laughter
you're the end and yet the start
you're the one who i chase after
you're the thief who stole my heart.

****** my heart
****** my hand
****** my finger,
with a shiny band.
Steal my mind
Steal my life
Steal my soul,
call me your wife.
Take my fear
Take my sores
Take my love,
it is yours.

For I believe you to be a thief, my dear.
As I believe for all that come into my mind.
And perhaps, the thought of you still lingers,
As if to wistfully remind my bones,
That I must chase you,
To regain the part that you have so gracefully stolen.
Perhaps that is why you are so inescapable.
Because you have escaped,
And I lie, so desperately trying to avoid that realisation.
You have had such a grand heist on my heart,
And it is only in your wake that I have realised its absence.
How foolish of my indeed,
To leave it so unguarded.
Perhaps that is why my knees quiver when I hear of you,
Because I want to run,
To follow you.
Yet you are already so very far away.
And I fear, in the mist of the failures of distraction,
That I shall never make the distance.
You are a little bit strange.
Loud with beautiful green eyes
And a wide smile.
You’re almost always
Off in your own little world,
Dreaming of grand adventures and
daring romances.
Little did I know, you are also
A thief.
You stole my heart
With your wide eyes and wild stories;
You hide it Far Away.
And when I asked you,
In a quiet voice,
“Why did you steal my heart?”
Your eyes became bright
And you’re smile wide
And you said
“Because you started it.”
