The sparks in the iron sky
cannot hope to twinkle
like the embers in her eyes
the rain has no veil for her radiance
it pierces the swirling skys in me
the walls bare no meaning now
in this heart of mine
and I've unhung the paintings here
my wounds close in the wake of
her every motion
and I am free

All that there was crumbles
Synthetically
In the magic of of her autumn smile
Autumn is the whisper in the air that harkons the mistress winter,
and she is beautiful and vain.

I'm running out
and drying up
you've left me no more tears to cry
love

gone is our time
my soul a stone
stuck beneath waves
of emotional toll

so please
get out
let me dream of something more
pleasant

I can't do this forever
and sooner or later
it's you or me
who will be dust
I think this was made before "Laundry", and it's based on the same premise on me being sick of dreaming of my ex and how in the dream I go somewhere, run into her, eventually one of us talks,  and we end up being friends again.

However, since I've actually posted "Laundry" I think I only dreamt about her twice since? And that only happened early on after the poem, which is great.

Growth happens, it just takes time.

Tell me there's more than this
Because god I feel so stuck now.
The stars are bright
Then they dim in the night
Gift me with those eyes
Eyes that seek a purpose.
Life shouldn't be being stuck
In the frames of decisions and consciousness.
This isn't it. This isn't what I wanted.
Let me choose my own heaven and hell.
Let me dig my own grave.
Because these ruts and paths to nowhere are all I got.
And is nothing all it's chalked up to be?
You got me wondering
These nights where I stay in the hidden place.
Or those days infinity found us.
Just remember those days you say.
The truth is I can't remember one particular thing about them.
Try to grasp onto any fleeting feelings.
I'm trying to catch a ghost.
Let these feelings wash over me.
Let me bask in my glory
Or frown in my unhappiness
And yet I silently scream.
Unable to express what I feel
Because the people who need to hear are deaf to me
And try as I might nothing can change a heart that's set in stone

Lurking memories,
Echo of silence resounds;
Grave stones seem baffled!
Gale L Mccoy Aug 2018
oh I stuck my feet in the dirt again
and broke my toes on stone
I know well I'm not meant to be still
as my body bends forward of its own will
but to advance to the next level
I must stay here and grind bones on stones
or walk straight off into the abyss again

I
Didn't I walk past ‘cause the
crowds were mushrooming
around the Hajre Aswad.*
As like the rose, it comes
with thorns on the stem.
The most significant stone sits
pulling the biggest crowds.
It makes sense, it rhymes.

A twilight isn't a harsh cut
at the end of a summer day
when it paves the way
for the waxing moon.
No cut is a cut on the way
to the desired noon!

I too thought while the flock
before me was bumping on
the way to the desired one
Let's not me be a disturbing one.
So for then did I walk past
the Hajre Aswad!

II
Are you, are you 360-degrees
on the way to the beloved?
Maybe it’s not you who sway
losing the most at first in this way!

Should you then change your mind
and really do a u-turn
even jump in the water.
Already a lost one you are.
Too little a size you are:
for Jonah's whale just a bite!

Punters swept the way ahead
I too didn’t do a U-turn.
Squeezed, I get caught in the crowd.
In the flow rolling fast and by chance
I kissed the Hajre Aswad.

II
Didn't I reach out to the sky
We know there is no colour
The rainbow is far from the touch.
I just chanced to click a link
that lets you keep on browsing.

There was no colour,
just black: the Hajre Aswad.

Is the black only black though?
Pierce through the black,
the moon gardens
amid the starry honeycombs.
The whole world has seen
blooms only on the
nocturnal black screen!

But did you see at this end
what a sheer beauty prevails
off this black veil?
Hajre Aswad, o my God!
Could it sample? Is there a rose?

IV
Should I ask the rose
that shines the colour of the day?
I can feel it whispers:
Tap into my fragrance
if you can, one might dip in
but I am yet to touch a skin!

The rose whispers:
Below or above, in or out
into a space sooty indeed.
Maths or programming
call it whatever you think.
A colossal solar disk
doesn’t swallow it.

No altitude or latitude here.
You won't see a line
let alone an intersection
on the heart of the matters
the fresco Hajre Aswad!

V
Where do I begin?
How do I give a demo of this, o my God!
How it didn’t need a eye to see.

I didn’t pop into a rosy garden.
It was night and dark indeed.
This a colourless magic
pierces through my lips.
And tints in the heart
what a firework!

Now be it a most spectacular duo
the rose and lapis-lazuli-blue nymph
under the same cloud.
Frankly, it doesn’t matter.
To me now, no colour is a colour!
Since it snuck the light
This on cloud nine
Hajre Aswad the black stone thriller!

VI
I am unable to draw down
is a dwarf under the moon.
Since kind you looked
behind and with your toe
no star saw it, it was worn
like the starless night's swarthy sock.
You opened the door a little
upon the earth at it’s core!

Allah willing, one fine moment,
this eclipse will conk out.
There will be no dark mole
at the night’s core anymore.
The moon and the sun be one persona
basking into your bursting chroma!

The sun will go off the screen
That day it won’t have a rule.
It will be cool swimming in your pool!
Then the voice mine, can’t be swallowed
by the Jonah’s whale no more, no more!

Brick-wall lobotomies
Self inflicted
Hard Head full of rocks
Cracked into sand mixed into mortar
And The school of hard knocks
Is just you breaking yourself

Rock tumbler thoughts
Chisel questions on diamonds
But any answer is too hard for anyone to write it

Sinking sand
And rock steady
But the stone is too heavy
And it keeps rolling back down
The hill to wear it started
If you're Sisyphus it's your Hades' Tartarus
But since you're Atlas it's the whole world to you

Stalactite tears
They've been falling for a while
Tear stream Grand Canyons eroded into your cliff-stone-face

A mask of jade
Said you were okay
But now all you can do is bring
The rock-wall to your face

But if you climbed it
You'd only see the other side of the mountain
But it's better than stoning yourself
Unless you'd rather dig yourself a hole and stay well-grounded

Be mindful of the Earth benders
Cause lead mined and pistol fired
Makes a mind worse for the better
Brain benders
With bullet senders
Brain blender
bullet benders

Stick to bricks

Hay-and-straw-made bricks
You can build yourself up
From dirt and twigs
But when they try to blow it away,
You are the brick wall
That they are leaning (concussed) against
Knocked out
Stone cold

Rock on
Roll steady
Dig deep and let the moss grow
When you start to feel heavy

I see you in the block of marble
David
**** your Goliath
With a sling and riverbed stone

But don't let Medusa freeze you up
Or there will be hell, fire, and brimstone to pay
And if you win
There is a statue waiting for you

Upon exiting the cabin,
I undergo broken cobble beneath my bare feet.
The remnants of stairs are round and mellow,
Yet some rebel rocks pierce and strike.
No matter, nature has willed it.
Leaving land, I enter upon a man made island
Planks and rods bring support coupled with stability.
String hangs in abundance from rusting cleats,
While dangerous protrusions threaten the innocent flesh.
No matter, man has created it.
As the water calls, I enter.
The buoyant vessel makes for easy observation.
Identifying the stagnant water, which buzzes in anticipation,
Creatures utilize my being for sustenance.
No matter, God has formulated them
To work in unison
In order to create
A recurring environment.
A reflection upon my friend's lake house in Troy, NY. A broken stove, one floor, and no service.
