Most captivating beauty
in tragedy
Her melancholic existence
quiet agony
forever unreachable
she’s otherworldly

Blue in colour
and blue of mind
if only I
could reach inside
feel her warmth
and our souls entwined

Never together
always apart
a losing battle
two lonely hearts

fireworks at blank shores
revenge of the innocent

the victims are to blame for
who are the culprits?
i don't know if you know
my brothers and my sisters

burning sandstorms
playful twisters

stroke me gently baby
no one is to blame for
milk my brain and try to feel
milk my eyes and try to be

reckoner

Today is a good day.

the waves lulled her
into a restful state
until she woke up
deep in the ocean
with tangled seaweed
around her.

"is this how it'll end?"
"no," a voice whispered.
her body valiantly fought
to reach the surface.
she took a much needed breath
as the waves carried her to the shore.

Get your feet off of it!
Throw your trash in the proper receptacle!

Boys and girls,
Remember,
You are guests
--Only.
--Entirely.
--Merely.
--Barely.

If you understood its real value,
You'd likely become a disciple,
A religious fool saving whales and pails and discount bikini sales.

Now pay your toll,
If you like, stay until the lifeguard blows her whistle,
But don't forget to sweep up your mess.

Yeah, the shore may wave and tell you 'it's okay,'
Keep in mind though,
This is because it thinks it's an ashtray...

Nevermore!
by Michael R. Burch

(after Edgar Allan Poe)

Nevermore! O, nevermore!
shall the haunts of the sea
—the swollen tide pools
and the dark, deserted shore—
mark her passing again.

And the salivating sea
shall never kiss her lips
nor caress her ******* and hips,
as she dreamt it did before,
once, lost within the uproar.

The waves will never **** her,
nor take her at their leisure;
the sea gulls shall not claim her,
nor could she give them pleasure ...
She sleeps, forevermore!

She sleeps forevermore,
a ****** save to me
and her other lover,
who lurks now, safely covered
by the restless, surging sea.

And, yes, they sleep together,
but never in that way ...
For the sea has stripped and shorn
the one I once adored,
and washed her flesh away.

He does not stroke her honey hair,
for she is bald, bald to the bone!
And how it fills my heart with glee
to hear them sometimes cursing me
out of the depths of the demon sea . . .

their skeletal love—impossibility!

I'm standing on the edge
Looking out past the shore
Hoping if I follow the horizon
I'll find something more.
Something worth fighting for.
All I want to do is leave behind the hurt and the hate
But deep down, I know it will follow me wherever I go like a panther in the night lying in wait

Like writing on sand
I will not tire to remind you
Of your beauty
Cause I'm afraid that
Waves will wash the shore
