I miss you is a pointless exercise
a murmur in the Sahara,
swallowed by endless sands

I can't carve myself into something you'd miss.

I love you is a sandstorm—
turbulent, scorching,
a fury that never seems to settle

I have no idea how to be something you'd love.

And I don't think I want to try
anymore.

I don't want to bend and break
under the weight of
your
sandstorm

Wait
This can't be a mistake

The morning light
Is just too bright

We've overslept
Curled up in bed

Now we must rush
Gone that soothing hush

Toilet flushing
Teeth fast brushing

Coffee churning
Toast now burning

Swallow fast
Needs to last

Stuff all over
Where's the roller

Switch off lights
Well miss our flights

Connections short
Should we abort

No time to think
I need a drink

Get in the car
The Airports’ far

Traffic's a pain
This is insane

Check-in slow
With bags in tow

Our gates a mile
All rush - no style

People milling
My headache drilling

Boardings slow
I'm about to blow

The seat's a squeeze
But I collapse with ease

At least we're here
I need that beer

Our chatter muted
With strength diluted

We crack a smile
Gone is the bile

Thoughts of the beach
Within our reach

Where we can lay
For the whole day

Fall in a heap
Recover - sleep

Sand in our hair
Without a care

The sound of waves
Heavenly daze

shifting winds blow tenderly
revealing all that they're covering
unearthing old tunes so lovingly
brushing over their edges and caressing
gentle notes of sand rush softly
i haven't written here or really anything at all in three years and to be honest most of my older works are pretty terrible. not that this is any better but i am glad to be writing again!

Rock me back and forth,
push me till i fall

tumble down to the pond,
look at our reflection

yell at the top of your lungs,
im yelling so hard it hurts

take me to the beach,
drown me in sand

drown me in sand till i scream,
pour it inside my mouth till it stops

My thoughts—waves in sea,
Footprints left upon the sand
are gone forever.

We all leave our footprints on the golden sand
As we take our final breath from this land
Some leave their step close to the water
Some have wept over the death of their son or daughter
So the ones closest to the shore
Will be washed away by a wave
They'll drown and die without asking for more
And give up their final chance to be saved
But some people leave their final footprints further away
Just for a little while longer, they can admire the day
Then they'll see the rest of society drowning in their aquatic fame
Then ask themselves if they should've done the same
But you must leave your mark on this world
Or else you'll be washed away
And you have to live for yourself
Or this world will make you pay
Would you rather leave your mark, or pleasantly drown?
Would you rather leave this world by yourself, or your whole town?
Do you also want to wear society's sea-blue gown?
So when you swim, society will drag you down,
But it is up to you to make sure you don't drown.

The gentle waves whisper secrets to the shore
As the seashells glisten in the sunlight
A symphony of colors, shapes, and textures
Each one with a story to tell

The ocean breeze carries tales of distant lands
Of pirates and mermaids, of shipwrecks and lost treasures
The rhythm of the sea drums in my heart
A lullaby from Mother Nature's own lips

I walk along the sandy shore
Feeling the cool water tickle my toes
A sense of peace washes over me
In the presence of this vast, eternal world

I pick up a seashell, hold it to my ear
And listen to the song of the sea
A melody of memories, of dreams, of hopes
Echoing through the chambers of my soul
The wave of the Oceans
as they crash into the rocks
With a powerful driven force
near the Ocean sea docks

The waves driving force that is
Driven by strong winds and
The Water waves rolling in and
out to sea again

As you sit or even stand
along the shoreline to explore,
discovering seaweed, starfish and seashells, along the wet sandy shores

On the beach you see a crab
as it crawls along the sand,
as you begin to enjoy the
shoreline while holding
sand in your hands

The Clashing tides of the high seas
are Traveling fast at top speed
as to a strong tsunami
Slowly rising up to your knees

A wonderful feeling to go
and explore the Oceans so deep
Along the shoreline to explore
The Oceans deepest peak

long after i’m gone
this pebble will remain with
my touch turned to sand
It was truly a lovely pebble.

she grew up with a beach of sand next to lake
i grew up near a beach with jellyfish & sweet salt air; home.

so one day i will take her to where their eyes remind me of

a honeyed landscape of granual sediment,
millions and millions of years of erosion,

just to look soft & warm to the onlooker

the tide pulling in and out. the seagulls flying above, cawing, while a cool, sunny day shines upon the sparkling waters frothing with movement.

her voice is my ocean breeze.
love poem for my partner <3 late april 2024 i believe.
