Nothing changed
The streets were the same
People remained on their mapped paths
Perhaps people don't change
They just find the seeds within them grow
Until, eventually, their identity becomes the flavour of the root
So that the individual thinks themselves changed
When, in reality, they are just a boldened result of all that they have always been

I am this, as are you
Everyone is the rain, the grass, the sky
At different intervals
We have all been that girl, that guy
Everyone prays from time to time
Frightened by the realities, we wish not to face
We, the ever fascinating Human race
A thought without structure

Leaving me behind in the shadows of my past
Time is being lost with every tick
Like the heartbeat of the universe
The clocks are calling to us
More followers have they
As our lives are being ruled by this cruelest of masters
Truly we are prisoners of our own invention
Grasped by the aged fingers of time herself
Each wrinkle a century gone by
Each blink is a lifetime
Her hair is grey with the ages
And her robes torn with war
But still her aged heart beats away in her heaving *****
Each breath represents a birth
And each sigh a lonely death
Madeleine Dec 2015
Birth. Life. Death.
Everything comes to an end.
Seasons change, people go.
Gone will be the days of breathing.

Before this time shall come
What have you sown?
What will you leave
When it's time to go?
I **** bleh

The world is spinning
Please explain me this feeling
I feel like my heart ain't beating
instead something heavy is camping on it
and there's nothing which I can do about it

Is  this loneliness
I wonder
My beer dissapears
While I ponder

In my head
I know I got friends
But for some reason
I always feel alone

I feel like, I don't have anyone
Who understands and accepts me
For the strange creature I am
And always will be

Even at home
I feel alone
like I'm just sitting in my room
on my own.

And everytime I meet someone
Who seems to understand
Then he's always owned
By some other human.

Oh well
I 'll just stay here and dwell
On this feeling
Which makes me feel like hell.
[Sorry for the lenght of the poem.]
this poem was written as an experiment which includes me drinking alone (Oh yes I actually did that XD), therefore the first thought which came to me was loneliness since that is what people often think, when other people drink alone. Anyway the experiment went out of hand and I actually got drunk - therefore the poem might be a little confusing.

When I feel Surprised, its like a Big Bang is happening inside my chest.. and as the energy disperses through the rest of my body, it makes me think: *"Man, this is how the Universe must have felt..."

People plan to partake in
pondering this painful piece
of the Ponderer's ponderings.

These pathetic pain filled people
presume that
pondering the Ponderer's ponderings
is perfectly practical in practically every peaceful way.

But presently,
the Ponderer's particularly pondering ponderings
are perniciously precarious in every perilous way.

Thus, to ponder the Ponderer's pondering ponderings
is not particularly practical,
but instead pertain
to perniciously painful parts of precarious nature

We all crave that Permanent happiness you know

it can only come from inside though.

Not from eating ice cream,
                                        buying new shoes,
                    hearing a joke,
Kissing a mate,
                                         Swimming in a lake,
Living in a bigger house,
                     Or Driving a fancier car.

*The more we rely on the material world for happiness ,
the further we dig ourselves into an endless pit.
For when one thing is gained, example that car,
you are temporarily satisfied.
Then a new want arises ,
a new goal that makes you think
" okay when I get THaT THEENN I will be happier"

And so it continues until you never settle with your idea of happiness.

Thus it is good to realize sooner rather than later- that true happiness is just a misleading term for absolute contentment .

Such Contentment that you learn to take the bad as you take the good. Always remaining in the middle, unaffected by any external matter.
You always looked pleased.
You never desire more.
You take what you get, enjoy it gratefully,
if you get more you are pleased-
if you do not get a single bit more,
would you know it-you're still pleased.

It is brilliant really, and so simple.
The goal is never to be happy.
The goal is be contented.
At least it should be.

I can see the glowing ball of our fortunes to come,
just arms length and it's pulling away,
hold me tight so I can reach it ,
Once in hand we can erase the world that keeps us,

Embrace the falling sky, following chicken littles crys,
Please please look up at what you're doing
I have here a gun in my hand, pleading not to use it,
If we continue down this road, our corrupted lungs
will get us before my bullets come,

Set fire to in inside of our hearts,
loosen up the breaks and don't look back,
for each coin turned is other lie told,
gather up my ashes and pour them in the mold

Depressing controversies make noble pursuits to fix,
Standing alone facing a wall of your peers,
what sin must look like when it revels in the truth,
sinking hopes are followed by an unwavering word

Watch out for the last peeking sun,
it will scream for attention and pry at our eyes,
the last of it will reveal secrets hidden,

you and I are  so much a like.

None of my jobs felt like a career choice from the start,
But I've come to a personal jack *** of being an alarm technician!

I have met so many different walks of life,
And so different housing layouts,
While adventuring many different life styles.

From hoarders to the ultra rich CEOs,
To crazy cat ladies to earthly persona,
But never a dull or same scenarios!

It is super gratifying to meet different personalities,
And most people with heart warming characters.

Not all are sunshine or *** of gold at the end of a rainbow however,
For some like to dictate my professionalism with their know it all,
Because they are a customer and they surely know what must be done.
Some would go far as accusations of me being mean,
Or tantrum equal to a terrible two!

I swear people live in their world within a world,
Not even living in a moment or enjoying the present,
But perception is a silly social standards of expectation.

Like when I met the rich couple where the wife was more like a secretary,
While the husband was an emperor of his domain,
And money was what kept them together.

Older couples who were ultra rich with gated entry to their drive way,
Or their 6 bedroom from top to bottom secured by better alarm system,
But fooled into purchasing our security without a proper knowledge.
Good thing for them, for they got me, the honest man!
In return the couple felt obligated to tip me unsuspectedly in my jacket pocket.

Recently met a beautiful married lady with a nice house,
And she was like poetry,
Speaking spiritually of higher thoughts,
elegant in her voice!
She told me I was a kindred spirit,
Me a kindred spirit?
As far as giving me her spiritual book from India!
"The Fall of The Human Intellect," I shall cherish it with all my heart!

Nothing in life is perfect,
But my job now my career seemed to have picked me.
While there is no guarantee my job is secure,
But am super glad this job has brought me from Minnesota to the south,
And culture with location that expanded my horizon!
Reflecting on my prospect, and looking at beyond, while living in the present!

The girl with the book, sitting alone at the bar
Sipping her 16oz glass, head in her pages

A quiet moment, surrounded by strangers
To be alone in your head, but programmed to be present in the normality of reality

To write in a public space but to avoid conversation
But welcome it, when it presents itself

To live without a penalty of, if, things don’t go your way,
Or to have the lines and be able to overthrow them

To meet new friends and be introduced to others

And to find out that we all need a quiet moment
In the middle of strangers
