Gone are those birds,
Who visited backyard of my home.
They had spend their days
Here, my mother says.
They flew away, un-announced, off their own.

Gone are those various noises,
That accompanied my plays.
Now no one here for the cheer,
When I’ll face monsters of my fears.
Them, alone, with my stick I slay.

Gone is that stench,
That wandered in the ardent air,
Of the food, ate in haste,
Of nasty things, they waste.
Informed me of their presence around here.

Gone are those from sight,
To some benevolent land.
Here, together beneath the rude sun,
We had so much to done.
They yet not know me as friend.

Gone are those birds,
Only the broken feathers left on ground.
But, before they again pull here in,
I would sew these into wing.
So I'll be with them forever, and fly around.

life really is sunshine and rainbows
if you wake up and choose to see it
even in the clouds hanging over our heads
and beneath all of the lonely in our beds
there is light that softy shines ahead

and it is constant

with a kaleidoscope
of colors that blossom
from pain once endured
and sunshine that follows
with just the kind of warm
that you never even knew
you’d been searching for

and eventually, when it pours
you’ll start asking for more
because you’ll feel that the growth
is worth all that you came here for

and when your heart breaks
you’ll laugh
because it always
  always
    always
grows right back
with more reason to beat
and more clarity to see

do you know what i mean?
everything has magic at its seams

you are the moment you are experiencing
and it is perfect

so sit back and enjoy the dream...

Think about all the people
you wouldn’t have met if
you had never broken up-
Think of all the things you’ve
learned since then.
Think of all the travelling you
wouldn’t have gone on and the
photos you wouldn't have taken
and the laughs you wouldn't have had.
Step outside yourself
and look at who you have become-
remind yourself that you made
the right choice.

Some days will crash
And burn
And flames will rage
And hail reigns, and all you can do is bruise

Please just be patient
It’s only one day
Tomorrow all your pain will be ancient history
You may feel broken
But please know that it’s not the end
You still have time to smile
You still have time to mend

The word
change
isn’t always heard right.
It doesn’t mean
bad,
evil
nor wrong.
It might mean
mad,
dashing
or bold!
But above all else
it just means
different.
Change isn't always a terrible thing; think optimistically.

You don't need
a 'better-half'.
what you need
is to make yourself
whole again.
I know not what I am
But I sure as hell am scared
Sometimes I catch a glimpse
and wish I had not dared.

I haven't been myself I mumbled,
it's been a short 4 years.
Yet everyday I am humbled!
to be honest with my fears!

Surviving off whats left of my self loathing
are the devilish voices that I used to feed.
Watering my mind's garden is refreshing
and THAT'S the energy that I need!
This piece has a very surprisingly optimistic point of view by the end of it.

It isn't always the light
at the end of the tunnel
or a brand new
sunrise
you see at first.
No, the first light
usually comes
in the form
of a person
during dark times.
