I think I lost my shoes today
Somewhere,
in the Dark Midnight
of my Soul...
Zeena Miedema Dec 2020
Midnight at the Matrix.
Only in poetry music, ***.
Sometimes there's a way out.

And a dreamland in the inbetween.
Seeing things you haven't seen.
But there are some boundaries.

There are little worlds behind them.
You can see them but you can't go there yet.
And creatures walking around you ignoring you.
This world is not yet yours.

Midnight at the matrix.
Trying to get ready to relax.
Finishing your last phone call.

You both broke down on the other side of the line.
Both vacuum ****** and you can't get through the end of the bowl.
Cause there's no end at all.
No end in a vacuum bowl.

Still not completely ****** in the same way.
But soon you'll be ****** together in the same old bowl.
One of you just came out of war, the other out of hell.
Not much difference, still a world of a difference.

One is still and the other always ill.
Cause being ****** in a bowl where everything is too much makes you never relax...
Being ****** in a bowl after a war is a calm in the eye of a storm.
An eye of glass....

Midnight at the Matrix.
Only in poetry music, ***.
Sometimes there's a way out.

She danced through the night,

Under the shadow of the moon's light

Her white dress flowed as she spun

When she moved, every spirit and soul on the earth became one

Her face sparkled with a twinkle in her eye,

It shone as bright as the stars in the sky

Her grey eyes looked calm and serene

Her movements as flawless as anybody had seen

No jewellery adorned her, just a white rose in her hair,

Its sweet smell would chase away any despair

She was truly a beauty with her hair black as coal

But it was unlike her pure white soul

Like a bird in the darkness,

She danced with such a finesse

But when the sun came soaring high,

She would disappear in the blink of an eye

As the people gathered on the streets,

On the run, she would be

No animal or human could find her when she was gone

She would return in the night and vanish the next morn

The light chased her away

The sun left her astray

Unlike the shadows they made her suffer

But she was an elegant dancer

And the midnight belonged to her

-Grisha. S
This poem is about a beautiful girl who absolutely adores nature, and loves dancing at night. But what happens when the light peaks through the sky and reaches her?
in the night
all by yourself,
with some tunes
in the background
to hit you with the memories,
they all seem very real
you'd thought they
would simply disappear,
but a lot of time
has gone by since
and now here you are
where even the walls have ears,
having heard many stories
over the years
so what's it going to be tonight?
'hold my hand',
says the hour hand to the minute hand
of the wall clock,
tick tock!
as time seems to pause
and you deep dive
into the music,
lyrics and instruments
with their own
ups and downs,
yet in perfect coherence
the harmony taking you places,
feels like a nightcap
for some midnight nostalgia
coming back,
you snap out of it
as the sound waves
fade way
in distance
'well, that was a nice little adventure...
onto the next one!',
your mind goes.
an ode to a little midnight nostalgia induced by great music.

the monster under my bed
grasped my hand tight,
for it too,
felt my fear
of loneliness
I am my worst fear after my breakup. Was about to go to sleep when I wanted someone to hold my hands, and I wouldn't mind even if it's the monster under my bed. I miss warmth.

these syllables of past feelings
seem distant now to define
a barrier
put up against.
confused in my head
as I lay here
I remember
you left as the season progressed
saying you'll still care
please tell me
in my dreams tonight
if what you did was fair.
shattered
I am now
an emotional state I cannot bare

car window moonlight,
familiar music plays through
crackling speakers,
serenading us.

muttered confession,
I pretend I do not hear
and will say I have forgotten
but I might never.

fearless actions,
stunning your audience,
I do not applaud
but I crave an encore.

quiet drive home
on deserted roads.
we panic at midnight,
then laugh at dawn.

Tonight I am lonely
Tonight I am opening and closing
And opening and closing
Every way I talk to people
Every app and site
Every link I have to connection
But still,
I say nothing
Considering all the words at my finger tips
Not ones that will be enjoyed by others
My company only an encroachment
Onto someone else’s peaceful evening
So I close
And open
My door to the outside
But still stay in
And stay lonely

Cigarettes at midnight
Tattered hoodies under the moonlight
These are just two more things
That remind me of loving you-
