Cascading Chaos Sep 2015
Complications starkly
stand before the
rising tides of illusions.
Perfect sunsets slip beneath
the apex of
my dreams.
Darkened now, we grow restless.

Carry my weight in your
heart. The load is yours
to manage.
Quiet shadows lurking
remind us we know
no truth.
Hopeful gestures, yearning.

Let me go
pursue with grace
what little strand
of dignity
creating forward motion
I wait.
The next blow is sure to **** me.

Icy heat and
knotted organs
sloshing slowly towards
the fall.
Trains with human rhythm
beget nothing but
wounded wisdom.
Repeat.

If I ever get where I want to be,
I'd like to be forgotten,
To never be recognized;
To just exist without an existence...
So that I can feel alive where I stand
With every breath, sound, touch;
So that I can witness the world
In all it's entirety
Without standing behind a screen of an identity...
To taste the colors with my eyes
And appreciate the eternity of the world
Without a barrier of an illusioned existence--
*For I won't exist any more,
And all barriers would, therefore, have been forfeit..
You have to wait,
Grow up, then date,
If you don't wait,
It'll be too late.

Most have dropped out of school,
They dated thinking they were cool,
They thought it would be safe to use the tool,
Only to find that it was just a piece of wool.

"I love you", are the words they used,
Little did they know that they are being abused,
Most of them just stay there confused,
Now they have stomachs that protrude.

She will live in shame,
As he lives in fame,
She was just been played like a game,
She ended up ruining the family's name.
I wrote this poem as a supportive character intentionally to use literature to help in the fight against early pregnancies to girls who are still in school and cultivate a sen
From the distance,
walls seem so
*small
but when you stand infront of them...
Wishes and false promises
On moonbeams and on stars
A year of dreams and nightmares
Of newly healing scars

Dreams are a seduction
An illusion of the mind
Dreams are for the children
They are movies in your mind

Age tones down those images
Dreams forgotten in the wake
Dreams vanish in reality
And that's the form they take

A dream left in the storeroom
Of a mind, with room to grow
Will flourish and grow steadily
And be shared for all to know

Dreams, are our existence
In the real world and the night
Dreams are full fledged wishes
That will die if not made right

Never lose the child
Keep dreams and wishes near
Keep fairy dust in packets
Of the darkness have no fear

Dreams are just illusion
but illusion isn't real
a heart can be un-broken
if you dream that love is real

share your dreams and feelings
write them out and read them too
never lose the dreams or wishes
they keep the child light in you.

Indeed, I love her!
But can't muster enough nerve
I had rehearse those lines
But as if someone tied my tongue

Afraid of venom of pain
Afraid to be stung
Better to hide it this way
Regret is more painful at the end

She was so alluring
A beauty that could only be mine in a dream
She was every of my fantasies
But how can I charm her
Everything about me was so simple
While she was extra-ordinary

I must act now...

Then I lied...

I told her I am a prince
That I owned the stars
But I saw her shaking her head
She was nothing compared the sun
She was nothing compared to the blue sky
I lost my self control

I began grasping her
Kissing her torridly
Even though a lot of people witnessed what I was doing
Little do I care
I want her badly, crazily...

And then laughter
everywhere....

Indeed people saw me grasping and  kissing someone
Someone in their eyes...
Was only a tree...

My Schizophrenia Poem #4
Katelyn Young Aug 2015
So many illusions in my head,
Like I'm still in bed,
Giving head.

Masochistic plastic people
pit themselves against the massive whole
each one thinks he's individual
each one thinks he has a soul

A head is broken– not a heart–
Its the cracks on a skull;
they are the kaleidoscope,
the lacrimonious inspiration–
that draws, on our chests,
the darts.
A twisted perception can make us see problems where there are none.

It is He who turned the words that echoed through walls of built up ego into towers of strength made of faith and prayer, obedience and consciousness – the best architecture knew I needed a blueprint that wasn’t covered in mustard coloured stains and red pen marks that led to nowhere good
2. It is He who untangled the blackening shackles from ties to this sticky, messy mirage of a world entwined to these wrists and instead taught to braid ladders to the heavens on its way to freedom which looks like His love, love that is eternity and eternity that isn’t an illusion; it’s a vision
3. It is He who, through every turn, slip and fault, stayed closer than the jugular vein and fished the despair right out of this muddled pond the colour of dust and rusting metals, teaching to swim and thank for the air filled lungs taken for granted even when I'm drowning, the water became clearer and the air cleaner and He still held His hand out, better than a lifeguard, He’s a guard for life
4. And now I'm trying to find another way to Him in these blessed nights to heal this aching splintered heart and solid iron fists made from fires only the roughest wood could spark up; in His name does the stomach starve so the soul can feed, where the toughest times are handled with sincerity, everyone becomes family, and strength is found underneath His love, overtop the rest of the world
