Mother’s Smile
by Michael R. Burch

There never was a fonder smile
than mother’s smile, no softer touch
than mother’s touch. So sleep awhile
and know she loves you more than “much.”

So more than “much,” much more than “all.”
Though tender words, these do not speak
of love at all, nor how we fall
and mother’s there, nor how we reach
from nightmares in the ticking night
and she is there to hold us tight.

There never was a stronger back
than father’s back, that held our weight
and lifted us when we were small
and bore us till we reached the gate,
then held our hands that first bright mile
till we could run, and did, then flew.
But, oh, a mother’s tender smile
will leap and follow after you!

It's not about you, it never was.

It doesn't matter how cheap you're selling hugs.

You're still selling them.

And you can't buy love.

When he leaves me in the morning,
I’m barely awake.

Kiss me on the lips, neck, cheek and face.
You hold my hand and say
“I wish I didn’t have to go.”

I move the bed sheets and say
“Well don’t.”

Men Cry...
     But only alone...
        When no one can see...

Mostly,
They fake being strong

What do they really need?
***? Love? Hugs?
All of the above....

So.... They go on a Journey
     to find... LOVE
Again and again...
They give up...
               again and again and again...

Then... when they least expect it...
Then... when You least expect it...

I sent you a message...
simply saying that I like you...

... Can you open your heart one more time?

... Can you drive for 4 hours one more time?

... Can you be excited to hold hands one more time?

... Can you... hug me... but send me to sleep into my room...

Can I be OK with you respecting me this much?

Yes... I'm a Big Girl now...

And this is why...
I can hold you in my arms when you cry....
I can hold you....
    I can love You...

... And I'm going to be the one to offer you
a peace of metal to put on your... wrist...
that says... "I'm right here"

Be Present....
   Go on your new Adventure!
Go!
    Go!
       Go!
            .... Just * Go!!!

I'll be here...
With the sun in my window...
And your heart in a frame in my bedroom...

I'm right here...

I promise....
   You know...
I respect myself so much more now...

              I will wait for You!

I seek the warmth of a caring friend,
I seek comfort while I am bent,
I seek warm hugs from my family,
lovely kisses, I hope they'll send.

I seek warmth for I am crushed,
I tore my clothes and eats dust,
A thirsty man longing for a water drop,
A dying man counting with the ticking clock.

Oh, this pain that aches my heart,
This cold fog in the morning bothers me,
This freezing sharp-pointed ice within my soft heart.
Oh, I need the Morning Sun's warmth.

A juvenile unicorn dropped his fadeless horn. They covered it with the ivory glaze and hid inside some savory persipan.

He bought her that concentrate of the sweet smile, of the everyday fairy-tale appearance.

Now
she
breaths
erratically, and
the apricot tinge is melting with
her plump skin
because of hot
air.

All of the sudden she giggles, and the giggles jingle like crystal shoes.
The fairy in batiste sticks a kiss on his lips.

They definitely adore
their kisstick.

I thought hugs were beautiful,
until you pressed your lips against mine and said,
I love you.

Once you drift away from affection, you get used to the cold.
Until you remember how it felt like to be embraced in the genuine warmth of someone’s love.
