its harder to speak than to yell.
and harder to yell than to.....think.
but.
as the slumber passes, and the daisies awake.
i feel as if i could talk to you.
just talk.
it might not be a real conversation.
because i might jut blink. and the time i felt i could talk.
would have dashed away from me.

in the night, the stars form into flowers.
others see constellations, or space stations.
but i am unique. i see picturesque flowers bathing in the night glow.
iris. rose. both in bloom. blossoming from the roots of the starry night.
it is really easy to know.
just harder to
speak.
speak even if your voice shakes.

Looking up to those stars gleaming brightly,
Those planets plastered across the scene,
I never wondered how they can shine too,
Sublimely recalling the delicate times when
We stared at the same sky we used see.
But, it does not truly matter for now.

I wonder if you have found my name
There in those stunning constellations.
I wanted to tell you how I recognized yours.

I wanted to seek what is beyond those lights...
I breathed barely as my soul descends to the dark.

As I remember where we have been through,
I have never seen how the stars shone as bright
As how it used to shine before, they wrote your name.
They reminded me how better I was with you.

I spoke to you in my dreams last night,
I pondered if I still lived in your mind,
Like the ways my dreams used to be.
Do not let me watch you suddenly fade,
“Always”, such an inviting promiscuous word.

If I could rule over the stars tonight,
I would reach over the sparks, I would write our names,
See them shine over the pitch black darkness tonight.
Sit with me and watch them twinkle over our worlds.
I would stare into your eyes filled of wonder,
Here we are watching the galaxies’ colours collide.
I know, my love, I had nothing left to hide.
I watched your glittering starry eyes,
The most dazzling stars I have seen before me.

Distances believed we were just a dream,
What a beautiful truth it would become tomorrow.
But if I would wish for one thing tonight,
The only thing I would have wished for
Was to have me right beside you.
Inspired by the stargazing we had in our school... I have learned a lot, yet there I saw back in my head... All the saddest wishes and fading hopes. But, dreams and wishes can make them possible. Imaginations and all the beautiful fantasies.... Until, they were just dreams. They're too good to be real.

Come not so much on the nights
when you are alone, or your mind is filled with grief.
The nights when the stars are the hardest to see.
Tucked beneath a blanket of clouds.
Of all the streets, one way streets are often the loneliest.
These are the times where we recognize ourselves the most.
And like the stars I tuck you in my arms.
Soft & nestled.
It's more times that exist outside of these moments.
Come also when you are free & every star can be seen.
Genuine in the way the moon shines.
Your face.
Never to flee in search of where to shine next.
The smoothness of your skin.
These bright moments that fill the sky.
Your voice the only thing that lulls the storm to rest.
Your curves being the constellation I long to see.
On the nights when your mind is at ease and there isn't a care in the world.
Learning wisdom in the moments of silence.
Sarah Mann Apr 2018
Eyes darting and drifting,
The bushy lights of tails,
Grins as wide as the world itself,
Not a care, happy as can be.
Sadly, no one cares to stop, and
Realize what lies in simplicity.

When my mind goes out
For a stroll it won’t be coming
Back anytime soon because quite
Usually it’ll take a detour
Before it has time to fully bloom.
My mind is made in phases of
Endless galaxies and constellations,
That you couldn’t comprehend,
So please, I’m begging you,
Stop trying to assume.

I wonder when you see me,
do you see the darkness that is seeping,
or do you find the spark to fight off your shadows?
And when your hand's in mine,
do you feel we intertwine,
or do you feel your clutching a weapon for battle?

Do your lips feel incomplete,
when mine aren't there to meet,
like we're two perfect puzzle pieces?
Do you miss me when I'm not around,
even though I don't make much sound,
or do you feel the silence is blissful sweetness?

My love, I named a star for you,
and it's the only thing I see in the sky.
It shines through black and blue,
it's so close but just too high.
I'd live on the empty moon forever,
just so we could be closer together.

I wonder when I cross your mind,
do you go deaf and blind,
or do you feel every sense you own?
And when my words hit your ears,
are you brought to tears,
or is that something you've outgrown?

And if I'm being too sappy,
you can say, cause I feel the same,
but it's been so long since I've felt happy,
and I don't know where to place the blame.

When our eyes connect, does time lose retrospect,
or do you stare right through a ghost?
And when you reach out to touch,
do you stop because it's too much,
or because it's what you want most?

My love, I named a star for you,
but you became my galaxy.
Into a supernova you grew,
and you became all I could ever see.
I'd live on the empty moon forever,
just so we could be closer together.

EVERDREAM
I ask on this cold night
      What do you truly fright?
      Your expression unfazed
      by the constellation's alight

EVERCHANGE
      You say sorrow is endless
      I say freedom is nearest
      Because the power within
      truly shines brightest

EVERGREEN
      Look how the petals sway
as it leads you to the way
      to intake the beauty
      that is here to stay
After looking back at all the hardships I've been through in my past and realizing that I was able to successfully reach out of those terrible places, I found the inspiration to create this poem.

I remember sitting on the auditorium
Floor, when I saw you-dark sparkling eyes,
Like a bird, looking at me, short hair,
Freckles.
I remember how I felt entranced,
Like a deer startled in the middle of
A field. You know that my mind stays there
Forever lost in this memory of happenstance.

You just stared at me. We never really spoke,
When your friends asked me why I always
Followed you around even though you didn't
Like me, you sat there with pen in hand
"click click-click click" it went, there I sat
At the library table, I could dare not
Look, but I knew even near you I felt grand.

It's like you cast this spell on me, and if I could
Answer, you are my strongest inspiration,
it was enough to let you be, to observe
Your great beauty even from a distance like a star
Shining in the Capricorn constellation. I'd wait,
No matter how long, near or far. To think I would
Never share life with you? But maybe some day I will be
An innocent Virgo star shining right by where you are.
