We Are Stories Nov 2015
I hate the mask I wear
Behind my paper lines,
I hate the mask I wear
And all my un-rhymed rhymes.
I hate the fact that I'm some ghost
Who bleeds black ink onto my white host!
I hate the fact that I harbor my words
To the ships out at sea that all go unheard!
I hate the fact that I am a mess
And all I have left are these words of distress!

I hate that I try to make my self depressed
In order to write a poem that will truly impress!
I hate that I have to sit here everyday
Trying to write my problems away
Only to find
That behind the smeared lines
That I still am battling with my old demons!
That I still am battling with doubt!
Oh I hardly take time to care about the seasons
I just care about the problems I have going on now.

-And even at my best I'm just someone who can't write
And all my poems are a mask for my bloodiest fights
But tonight
I hope someone turns on the lights
And finds my dead corpse rotting off to the side,
I hope that for once it will all be fine
And my heart will stop beating before I start losing my mind-

I have these chains,
Wrapped around my body,
In my veins,
In my blood stream,
And it may seem,
Like I am closed off,
From the entire world,
That's because it's true.
I'm building locks,
And I'm going to make it rain with keys,
And I'm waiting,
For you to build a bridge,
And come find me,
Like a light breeze,
Like a smooth sea,
You arrive,
But not with a key,
with a tool,
That set me free.
Ever struggle so much that you find yourself in constant prayer wondering about this whole Jesus and eternal life thing?
John 14:6 "Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

(I’m) talking about
Freedom!
Peace and liberty
A land of
Freedom!
Love and equality
Freedom!
Is what we need to see!

Maya Angelou said it
So, it has to be
The caged bird sings
But it is not free.
Pretending for money
Won’t make it be.
There is no substitute
For being free.

Freedom for you
Freedom for me
Freedom!
For every ethnicity!
Freedom!
For both gay and straight
Freedom!
For all, we can’t wait.

Always there are thieves
Who would steal your rights.
They exist on the left
And they exist on the right.
They get paid to rob you
And never let you be
If you aren’t vigilant
You’re never really free.

Freedom!
Before someone kills it.
Freedom!
Because the country wills it!
Freedom!
Saw The Liberty Bell crack.
Freedom!
It’s yours if you take it back.

Democracy is a concept
And we have to protect it.
Money-making crooks
Will try to make you reject it.
They tell you everything
Will end up just fine
Because freedom cuts in
To their bottom profit line.

(I’m) talking about
Freedom!
Peace and liberty
A land of
Freedom!
Love and equality
Freedom!
Is what we need to see!

Locked in chains full of dangers,
hold my hands lord,
pulling me further and further away
from my original destination,
what's with a these different strangers,
life can also record,
all the things you gave and took away,
weather the source of damnation,

I can't imagine life without beauty,
scratch and then patched,
something anyone wouldn't want to
bother with,
when it comes to judgment,
my sincerest apologies truly,
don't want to get too attached,
with a dose of salt and a quad of spit,
in the air..... I'm suspended.
Suspended.

I wish knew words say
I can't tun back time
You are sun in my sky
When i think of you my heart skips beat
I just  want be reason u smile
I want be glue put ur heart back into place
I dream of holding you close
Looking at stars and never letting go
I wish u knew how those finger prints never faded
I want break those chains
Be  my sun in my dark sky

Fear of myself should have been fear of you,
The venom itself in my veins.
Thickening my blood and corrupting my soul;
A time bomb held down by your chains.
~~ I hope you enjoyed yourself as you watched me die, at least that would mean one of us was happy. ~~

Red wine and ugly tears,
breaking the chains you left on me.
Your heaven,
my hell.
You’ll be the death of me,
if I don’t break free.

The burns on my skin,
remind me of your monstrous sins.
Torched and confused,
with my love for you.
The farther I get,
the more I feel,
chill from you voice,
keeps me still.

Fake smiles hide tears,
make up conceals the truth.
These chains wont break,
keeping me in my place.
My life slips away,
empty eyes are all that remain.
A muted silent melody
A vacant chained cage
The loveless awaits a remedy
With muted silent rage

It wanders around an essence
Clings to broken loveless pleasures
In hope one accepts its presence
It wanders still a muted treasure

A loveless soul dances to a blank tune
Looking for loves elixir, its eyes catch a mind
With steps of silence under a muted moon
Once loveless, this soul dances for love it finds.
